I was on the flight which had two missed approaches (about 9:00 and 10:30 in the video). I was in the second row. During the final moments of the second approach I could hear a loud beeping from the cockpit, and shortly afterwards the when the pilot made his comments he noted that the wind speed on that approach was nearing the limits for the aircraft.
All the way back to where we came from; Heathrow. The airline offered us flights the next day. I'd flown from Singapore alreayd and just wanted to get home so I jumped on a train to King's Cross instead and went from there. Luckily my work was paying the travel but others probably had to just wait a day.
Dear God! It must be really, really annoying that you have watched all other flights of thast day landing safely, first time!!! I hope the pilot was made to re-train.
Hi, I was there the same afternoon for a short while filming as well (posted on here) I wonder if the pilots of the budget airlines are under more pressure to land and not abort and go somewhere else at great cost ? Also if you get a DSLR you might be hard pushed to get the same zoom effect from the bigger lenses, without paying a lot of money.
Hello, I am a captain for one of your said budget airlines. I would just like to let you know that we are under no pressure what so ever to land at our planned destination, and all airlines that I know of have a no blame policy for aborting a landing and diverting to a suitable airport. Just because we offer air travel at a lower price for the customer does not mean safety is compromised in anyway, ever. Cheers.
Could it not be said that as pilots of budget airlines do more short haul flights and also more flights in one day (due to being shorter) that pilots of budget airlines have more experience and are more comfortable is the more choppy conditions?
Nice video, enjoyed watching it, thank you for sharing!
Thats cool that you have seen this video from how it looks from outside and I am sure it was much worse from inside.

Where did you end up landing?
