Have played that song probably hundreds of times. I literally jumped out of my chair with full-body goosebumps when it came on Yellowstone.

I am about to move back to my hometown of Port Arthur, Texas. Working at the plants was life when I grew up there. My father is the current director of the Museum of the Gulf Coast. This song speaks to me deeply. All the words are so familiar. I remember many family members going to work at the Texaco refinery, and the jumpsuits/uniform they wore each day. The largest refinery in North America is Motiva and it is in Port Arthur, Texas.

I'm 61 years old. My Grandfather lived in Port Arthur Texas. He went to work for Gulf Oil... I've been in that area all my life. This song is so heartbreaking that no one can make it up. Thanks guys. Beautiful inspiration and an extremely talented group. Y'all keep the past alive. Sometimes it hurts.

I used this song as the message of my at my toast to my son and his bride during their wedding this weekend. Passing along the role of "keeping the wolves away" is tougher for the father, but I know he's ready.

I have your CD, have listened to this song so many many times. I'm 67 yo. My husband and father of our children worked in the chemical plants on the Houston Ship Channel from the 1970's until 2019 when he retired. We both relate to this so much. Such a wonderful song about the blue collar life, that I believe keeps this country afloat. We have had some close calls during those years. Only those that work in the petrochemical industry can understand the risks.
Every time I listen and hear your song it brings tears and goose bumps. Thank you for writing such an amazing tribute to your parents and all those that work in the petrochemical industry.

I lived near refineries growing up and later worked in them around Beaumont, TX. They are dangerous to work in, I can totally relate to the story. Three guys I worked with got burned by a chemical spill. Only 1 survived. 😢

I first heard your song on the Michael Berry Show in the late 2010’s…his dad worked for DuPont in Orange his whole life, and it was an instant favorite on the show for a while.
I grew up a Brown and Root brat, both mom and dad working at the refineries up and down the gulf coast, so I felt it too…especially since I had actually heard the words “keep the wolves away/at bay” from both parents at various times in the 90’s.
While I jagged left and became an engineer in the aerospace industry, I brought my babies home to the Golden Triangle after the divorce. They have loved this song for years, as they see the parallels in my stories about my childhood, and they see their friends living it currently.
We are all stoked to see you play here in the heart of refinery country in a few weeks!

My husband got into a motorcycle wreck in 2018. And then he recovered. And then he finally went back to work, and shortly after, the pandemic hit. I had to quit my job, because I have an immune system that doesn't work. And truly I was scared. Then in 2020 my dad got sick, and the specialists wouldn't see him, and so my brother and I put him on hospice, and I took care of him until he died, at the end of 2021. This song is how I feel. What is the wolf? It's so many things. And I live day by day, doing my best, trying to keep the wolves away. Thank u for ur authentic self. I'm gonna be a new groupie. And strangely enough, my brother moved to Cleveland, for that better position, just down the street from Dow Chemical. Please keep telling ur stories❤

I seen y’all recently at your show in Hockley Texas 2 months or so back. I cry when I hear the song cause by brother was right there on them front lines as your dad but he worked for a different company. But he remembered it vividly. He has since passed away from cancer but that’s a whole different story. Thank you

This is awesome news💥 I loved this song from it's 1st note. It came up on YT as it fit into the music I was listening to. I played it over and over again. I shared it with many friends. I cried sad tears and happy tears. The song moved my heart, no true life experiences to attach it too. But to our (meaning everyone who knows this song) current life situations where every day we are fighting to keep the Wolves away. And know, I have never seen one episode of Yellowstone! Love to you brothers...Play On❤🎶

This song came on with the you tube algorithm for me, sometime during covid era, probably because I listen to Ryan Bingham (though I didn't realize it was on Yellowstone, which I've watched since the beginning).
    Love this song, so heartfelt.
My pap pap worked in the Steel Mills in Pittsburgh and hurt his back, was disabled. I think anyone that grew up with blue collar family feels this song in their soul. ❤️

Never thought I'd hear admiration for the Fibonacci Sequence while I was watching a general behind-the-scenes video. 😂 Not much of a television watcher, so I've missed the Yellowstone series along with many others. Just heard about Uncle Lucius from a musically-inclined friend.
Hoping that the music-contract-snatching snowball helped out you and yours through your trials and tribulations.
