Man.. Kevin’s story about the song and when it finally hit just adds to much to the entire song and the meaning of it all. So happy for him, the band, and his parents!
I know Kevin won’t see this, but as a man of 52 grew up and worked farm then onto trucking , now on heavy plant, that’s one hell of a story, so sad and hard hitting but it’s always hard in life, ❤ Stay real, I like my music but I love this thank you sir , and good luck and good health to you and your family , ps only discovered you musi yesterday
Uncle L, we all wish you and the band would release your own version owned by only yall,,,, you would be taken care of by your longstanding fanbase wholeheartedly sir!!!💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I love every minute of it........I lived in Houston....used to fish in Galveston Bay and Texas City when i was a kid. My dad was a foreman for Altair construction and worked in the tanks too!!!
Wow such an awesome story! I've always loved this song as I was my childhood as well. I almost lost my dad when I was young. I got the call he wouldn't make it through the night and he is now still alive!
Never seen Yellowstone dont know how I came across this song but i love it and I'm so glad things worked out like they did for them, man they deserve it! Cheers to the working class and so glad to hear his father is still alive and doing well!
The story he tells in this vs the song, is what I feel book lovers feel when they watch a movie. There’s so much more to the story, but somehow he tells the whole story with much less words.
Kevin, we moved to Oyster Creek in ‘79. Moved across the River by Capt Elliots in ‘80. Your description of the town blew me away. When I get down, I’ve begun listening to this to take me back to a life I’ll never live again. Thanks
This song is so good, this song hits some type of way once you become your own father. Man, now it’s my time to keep the wolves away… that’s real. Thanks for making an awesome song brother, you’ve inspired us all
i had already seen the video and new the song and the truth about it ….the fact is that most times true genius and brilliance will get it’s time in the sun and this so deserved it … the lyrics the song and the singing combine into beauty
Wow! I’ve never seen this before. I never knew that this was a true story. Unbelievable! Kevin! (My sons name btw), you are my hero! Luv u man! You have a big heart!!!! ❤
This song always hits home for me. Growing up in southeast TX to nothing but refineries. My father has been a slave to his job since I was a kid at those same refineries. May God be with them all and keep them safe. It’s a job a lot of people don’t understand the critical risk of it all. It’s very dangerous. I thank God for giving me my dad. Even when the wolves were at our door he did his best to keep them away. Love you dad
Beautiful!! Thank you Kevin for this story behind this song and the Yellowstone part! Also that’s Jeb for sending to me & introducing me to his music!! Hope to catch him back over there in Riverton 😊
I cry everytime I listen to this song. Like the dad in it, my dad worked so hard to keep my sisters and I clothed, fed and warm. He's still around, in his 70s and I thank him for everything every chance I get.
Everyone has a story - but some are a bit tougher than others. I guess if I had studied psychology I could answer why the impact of adversity at a young age is typically not felt or understod until later in life. A mystery in my eyes for sure. Being a kid in a lower class growing up in the late 50's and 60's - wow; the things my sister and I had to endure. Good one day, bad the next. And we never knew when those bad days were coming. But it made us strong. Thanks Kevin for sharing a part of your life that set the stage for future thoughts. ☣🚑🚒
