Out again Dave!! 👍👍 perfect night that, night imagery was spot on as usual, perfect morning too, beats clag and rain mate. Enjoyed the calm as usual Dave. Lee
Very nice circuit Dave and a grand camping spot. Zero condensation, a real bonus. Hard to beat the solitude in the Southern Uplands; feral goats welcome though. Itching to get up there, when family n' other commitments permit. Quite right for being careful to account for all tent pegs. I am to, though lost a golden shinny Hilleberg peg one time to a bloomin magpie.
Thanks Iain , I didn’t think I was going to find anywhere to pitch then I found this . Yeah the SU are beautiful for sure and I was well pleased when I spotted the goats . Maybe the Magpie was anchoring his nest down lol . Hope you get up there soon atb Dave ⛺️👍
Blimey Dave they give the word valleys meaning. You were after the epic and awe for sure this time around. Good going. All the best for the week ahead. Mark
Its a great area that Dave, I once walked from Megget Reservoir to Moffat along the tops, i now feel like going back. Vid well put together, an enjoyable watch 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, I bet yours was a great walk . I could easily spend a few days wandering and camping up there . such a beautiful area indeed. atb Dave ⛺️👍
Really lovely area around there but such a very long way from my base in the south. I chuckled when you said about the apple and custard pudding, that's one of my likes when I'm out trekking. Really good video once again, thank you. Warren :)
Cracking couple of days mate👍🏻 They look like some nice hills. Great pitch too mate, those views were stunning. Definitely looks like another area to add to the list of places to visit! Brill video Dave, cheers! Mark
Thats a wee toughie of a hike Dave, hills are brutal eh, did it the opposite way to you and did a bit zig zag at the beginning, very swampy in bits right enough, great photography and camp, those hills seem to get passed by and folk don't know what they're missing, remember you saying you were going to be doing this hike and camp in the spring and was looking forward to it, you didn't disappoint as it's a cracking video. Cheers Alan 👍
Thanks Alan you’re not wrong some real steep climbs , but the views I had on such a nice day were stunning. I really loved how it opened once you got above 700 m . I have been awaiting the right time to explore this side and it didn’t disappoint . tfw atb Dave ⛺️👍
What a tremendous looking area Dave. I checked that out on the map. I'm familiar with the Carrifan valley as they have been doing a lot of tree planting and rewilding up there. Deffo a place I'd like to go sometime. The goats were pretty cool too. ATB, Chris
Thanks Chris , yeah miles of peaceful hills . The Carrifran valley certainly needs explored more and yeah loads of stuff happening in there . I was well chuffed to see the wild goats . Tfw atb Dave ⛺️👍
Notice scotlands walkhighlands site rates this route as four boots level which is same it gives for the easier Munros - so that you felt the descent is quite consistent. Nicely told. Thank you.
Another cracking good hike Dave. I’m addicted to these hills like I am to ice cream lol…👌. First and following camps up here as soon as I get back home. The ridge walks are just the best and the peace and quiet up here too…A dream area for summit pitches. ATB…might see you up here one day…might bring ‘my mate’ too🙄😉
Thanks Annie , first time from capplegill but really enjoyed the ridges . Very quiet indeed and it was great to see the goats . I will be back up once I shake off this covid 😂 and yes we will cross paths some day atb Dave ps enjoy your trip
Nice one Dave, i've done that circuit before and i actually seen a badger on the top of Saddle Yoke. The southern uplands are perfect hills for camping i need to get back down sometime ..Good video mate ..cheers Stevie
Thanks Stevie , someone else I know said they have seen one up there too 🦡 must like the views lol . Yeah it’s steady away and pleasing on the eye . Atb Dave ⛺️👍
Never knew you got wild goats up that way, ace to spot them and even better to get some good vid footage of them. Looked like a cracking good hike in, I'll have to have a trip up that way before too long. Quite the stunning pitch as well Dave, that's not a bad view from the auld tent door lol. Hope you're feeling ok and hope you're not away from the hills for too long. ATB Dave :)
Thanks Donna , I knew they were up there but this is the first time I have come across them . It was a good old hike but a perfect day for a gentle plod up . And a decent view from the tent door 📷⛺️. Hopefully back out in a couple of weeks atb Dave 👍
awesome that Dave looks a great area..now iv'e completed the wainright's the southern uplands is a new area i want to explore & this route looks perfect..the night stuff was top stuff mate superb..tfs Andy.
Great stuff Dave i wish i could explore that area more, real feeling of isolation there. Hard to get to if you don't drive. I would love to get there when its covered in snow. Jelly babies or jaffa cakes for a quick hit. Lovely view decent pitch and weather what more do you want. ATB
Thanks Eddie , it really does feel isolated up here . But yes difficult to reach if you don’t drive , I am hopefully going to return when the white stuff is back . Always carry jelly babies for the sugar rush atb Dave
That was brilliant Dave! It reminded me of the far Eastern Fells without the hikers! Lol! Looks like we had the same conditions, I was astonished to see that everything was dry too! Loved the night lapse and photos at the end👍👍
Another cracking trip with stunning views. A lot better than when I was last on Hart Fell. I was blown off my feet and the map disappeared over the edge as it was torn from my grip.
Looked like a cracking hike mate, love them horseshoe routes, brilliant views looking down into the valley 👌. Nightlapse looked spot on, do you use a gopro for them? Another great watch mate, thanks for sharing it with us👍 Mick.
Love this and thanks for the videos. I’ve got a duomid and would like to see how the two pole set up in the future. Tried my own mod from your previous video but mine is stable. Could I ask where you got yours set up in this video? Atb, Michael
