- A lot of you always say in the comments how you guys want a video talking more about Utau. I'm actually not skilled in the program at all, outside of making a CV Utau voicebank. To make up for the fact that I can't exactly give tips and tricks for the program, here's a video talking about some misconceptions with Utau!

The creator of Nyan cat is actually really happy and released a anniversary version of the song and realised another song called wonder of wonder and it's gaining popularity
DaniwellP also began using Momone Momo (the UTAU used for the cover) and even worked with her VA at one point. Definitely stonks.

For some reason When I heard that Ritsu has missiles in his chest, I thought it meant that he was some sort of an attack robot that had missiles BUILT into his chest, and that he could shoot them out.
Nah just...stuffs them in his chest like they're fake boob pads! Utau are so weird with their stories sometimes.

Ritsu hates Japan and likes North Korea, actually. Also, Defoko isn't easy to use but can sound pretty clear if you have a lot of experience with the engine. Just wanted to point that out. And Acme Iku was made for another engine but was ported to utau.
Another misconception: Yokune Ruko's gender. Ruko is intersex 90% male and 10% female but prefers 'she/her' pronouns as stated in her bio....but most refer to her as a boy.
I've heard some say her "voice provider", which is just a text to speech engine, got an upgrade so people have been trying to use that to update Defoko but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Was she? When I was reading, it said she was stock sounds for a game engine that people ported into Utau as a joke lol

Ritsu's bio says she loves korea. For some reason someone translated it to just N. Korea.

About misconceptions anime in general has this for the outside public
I truly hope this doesn’t come of as rude because I am making a correction😅 but the reason Macne Nana is tied to Mac is because she was actually able to be used in the Japanese version of GarageBand for a while before she got moved to Utau. So apparently she was somehow popular enough to be inputted into three different softwares, even Vocaloid!😯
Ah! I'm not a mac user and never have been so I'm not familiar with how GarageBand works and the plug-ins needed. I had thought she was an Utau first, from what I had looked up, due to Utau being ported to Mac and overall promoting Mac support for vocal synth engines. Sorry about that!

An Utauloid is simply just an Utau voicebank so she is.

I do! The commercials were taken down because they featured the previous CEO of Dominos Pizza who retired (thus they can't legally use his likeness or him anymore lol) and the campaign ended.
Nick Robinson made 2 videos on the subject and he managed to restore the app!

@@roleychanhyuka9974 Georgian's phonotactics allow for such large consonant clusters, it'd be practically impossible to make an UTAU voicebank sing correctly in the language. The most common example of how long they can get is the word გვფრცქვნი (gvprckvni), a single-syllable word meaning "you (singular) peel us".

Took me 3 years to realize that vocaloid and utau were different
While a lot of UTAU are "weird", most of them are fairly normal. Most of the popular non-Vipperloids are pretty run-of-the-mill "likes to sing" types -I say, with my PFP being my own UTAU whose personality is having a Fortnite addiction.-
Other people have said this as well, but I don't think Iku counts as an UTAU since she's just a port from another software. Sort of like how if someone ported Kaito into UTAU, he's still a Vocaloid, Iku is a Maidloid and not an UTAU. Same with the politician "UTAU"--he's actually a jinriki voicebank, and while his voice can be sampled to create an UTAU, it isn't a good representation for what UTAU is.
The biggest misconception in this video imo is that UTAU is a whole bunch of weird voicebanks when, in reality, it's a lot of normal voicebanks with some standout strange ones.

I'd love to but unfortunately, I only have a vague understanding of a few words and short sentences in Spanish. I could try making a video talking about UTAU in other languages sometime in the future, maybe go into some tips about learning pronunciation for foreign languages!

You think they will be a vocaloid animated series or I highly doubt they would never make it because
I doubt it. It's only because the concept of Vocaloid is "Do whatever you want!!! (so long as the character isn't voiced by an actual child!)" so making a series would kinda mess up that concept a lot because then you have people arguing over portrayals. Though Miku did make a huge cameo in a mecha anime!!!
I can at least picture Vocaloid songs getting a series as though tell their own unique story where the Vocaloid character is often not involved and is only loosely used as a design idea.
Do you have any tips on tuning Meiko v3?
It's the same tips I make for tuning any Vocaloid but I highly recommend listening to Meiko's voice provider singing IRL to help figure out proper fluctuations to make or shine or singers like Utada Hikaru who sing very similarly to Meiko's range :)

If you were to write a song and have an UTAU voicebank sing in it, would you be able to monetize/ sell it on say iTunes? Do UTAU have terms for using their voice bank?
I'm not 100% sure but a translation of Utau's usage policy doesn't say anything about that so I assume it's okay? I believe it's all down to voicebank permission. I know there are some voicebanks that do not allow commercial use of their songs while others is A-okay!

I need help again i tried to work with utau but like i cant barely put in the lyrics and when i do they make no sound so i find myself just spam clicking the sample thing
You have to input a lyric compatible with the Utau voicebank you're using. If a Utau uses Hiragana, you would replace "a" with "あ" instead.
If you don't see any Japanese characters in the voicebank files, that means you have not set up your computer to read Japanese characters in your system. I highly recommend checking out some Utau tutorials for that because I'm honestly not great at it myself.

The MMD models? I'm not sure what you mean by programmed. Do you mean made from scratch and rigged by me? No, the parts are made by other people and I just rig them or add texture. Do you mean are all models preprogrammed with a dance? Nope, you have to do the motion yourself.

An Utau and Vocaloid is made using a vocal synthesizer. I think in this case, what you mean, is autotune that mimics a robotic effect. However, if you want, you can totally make your voice an Utau! Just look up tutorials for it because there's multiple ways of making an Utau voicebank.

Where did you get information about Maiko and Ritsu are cousin ? I can't seem to find it anywhere
It was an old translated bio for Maiko. It's possible that information has since been retconned but at the time, the translation said she was Ritsu's cousin. (I think it's because at the time, people thought she looked like Ritsu?)

Defoko's speech software gave the okay for one of their voice options to be used as an Utau. If you do not have legal permission to port a vocal synth into another engine, you shouldn't do it. It breaches the guidelines of that synth *AND* Utau's TOS.

I made it for beginners and new people, something both Vocaloid and Utau are very unforgiving towards, so there was a lot of people asking for a video talking about stuff like this because they were new and wanted to know some stuff.

Really? I found it pretty easy to get it working. The tutorial I listed in the description is super easy too, so I recommend using that if you're having trouble! The only issue I still have is Defoko's voicebank where the hirgana just disappeared so now it's all a bunch of jumbled words instead of her Hiragana but other than that Utau works fine and it relatively easy to set up.
