Castlevania Curse of Darkness was the second Castlevania title for the Playstation 2.
Celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the PS2, I am grabbing a few intros and some footage of some of my PS2 games. Running them through an Oct 2016 nightly build of PCSX2 and making use of the emulator, the GSdx plugin with shaders and FXAA, and widescreen patches to create the best looking version of the PS2 games possible.
Plot synopsis via Wikipedia:
"Curse of Darkness is set in the year 1479, three years after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Though defeated by vampire hunter Trevor Belmont, Dracula's curse continues to ravage the European countryside, spreading disease, mob violence, and heresy in its wake. Amidst all this devastation is Hector, a Devil Forgemaster who had formerly worked under the employ of Dracula but betrayed him sometime during the events of Castlevania III. Eventually growing disgusted with Dracula's brutal methods, Hector leaves Castlevania and relinquishes his powers to live amongst humans, settling down to live a peaceful life. When Hector's fiancée Rosaly is accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake, Hector learns that her murder was directed by his fellow Forgemaster, Isaac. Seeking revenge, Hector chases his former colleague back to his old home, and back to the demonic life he believed he had left behind him."

If netflix ever decides to make castlevania spinoffs, the PS2 titles would be incredible adaptations. With hector already in the show, the stage is pretty much set for a Curse of Darkness adaptation, and with Lament of Innocence being the literal origin story for the series, it'd be awesome to see how the Belmonts, Dracula, and the fued between the two came to be. Idk if theyd do well with multiple seasons (i can see 2 but 3 would be stretching it) but they'd work well as a limited series for sure.
Im not sure about that, Hector's character in the series is not even reminiscent of Curse of Darkness. They would have to pull out a random wife for him and also a random X villain to kill his wife. They would also have to find someone to replace saint germaine since they already killed him off. Along other things
@@lok4890 And the fact Netflix Issac is nothing like CoD Isaac. None of that psychotic/flamboyant redhead traits to be found at all.
You probably know this by now, but the Netflix version changed too much of their characters to the point of ruining them. What's worse is this was done on purpose.
Race swapping Isaac, cutting out both his sister and Hector's wife, emasculating Hector and making him both an imbecile and a victim of Stockholm Syndrome. I could go on.
Quite honestly, I'd rather have another studio take their shot and show respect to the source material. Netflix & Warren Ellis were bad choices from the start.

@@febripratama7107 The writer I know of as he was the one who did not care to familiarise himself with the games. He even admitted this himself. It's the self-proclaimed fans in Netflix that are a bigger concern.
The level of damage this show did to Castlevania is immeasurable. The series cannot even be called a faithful adaptation due to how much they got wrong.
Our boi Hector (and Isaac) made into the Netflix adaptation. How awesome is that?
I enjoy the Netflix version of Issac, but i think that in the future he will be more sadic than he is in the game(sorry for my english)

Ikr. I recognized Hector immediately but holy crap was I taken back by Isaac's radical design change. It was for the best though, his design in the game was very bizarre xD

This game gave me so much happiness. I was crushed when my system died. I have the game again, but I need to figure out how to get the necessary files to let me play again.

@@stinkfist1300 Season 3 and 4 really did Hector dirty. At least they made Isaac a better character and gave him all the cool moments.
