I have a special connection to this piece as my grandfather heard Dame Myra Hess play this for the troops during WW2. I tried to learn it some years ago, but could not bring out the various voices well enough. It's a beautiful but hard arrangement. I have listened to many recordings, but never heard it played more beautifully, more subtly and with more understanding than by Alaxandra Dovgan... Truly remarkable

Sasha performs this deeply beautiful wandering piece by Bach with such emotion and grace that I find it the perfect video by Alexandra to "Loop" on TH-cam to fall asleep by (especially since there is no intro or applause at the end).
It's not just the technicality but musical depth of expression, Bach being the ultimate test of both.. it's the rare person like Alexandra who, to me, makes the strongest case for reincarnation & old souls. She has played these pieces before, perhaps for many lifetimes. Yet chose to come back to Earth to continue sharing beauty with the world.
