I have read the Hobbit and LOTR many times but have not attempted the Silmarillion or the unfinished tales...I am inspired to do so now. They seem more accessible thanks to your videos. Keep up the good work. We love you.
I had to try twice to get through the Silmarillion, the first little bit is difficult to get through, but if you give it a break then persevere, it's worth it! Good luck!
Less than a minute in and there’s already a Dan the Dog sighting?!? 😻😻😻That’s how you know this stream is gonna be good. Thanks for all of your hard work! ❤️
robb legitimised jon so regardless of who wants who as the stark lord, jon is now a legitimate stark in the eyes of the lords who witnessed the will and who will accept it, and will be the strongest candidate as lord because he’s the eldest living “stark” it’s not like robb went “jon is now a stark and only can be viewed as a stark so long as he takes his place king in the north after me if i die”. once he’s legitimised that’s it, they can’t exactly take it back
Thanks for another great stream! Have you ever heard of The Demon Cycle series by Peter V. Brett? The first book, The Warded Man, was particularly good, and it strikes me as a story you might enjoy. Cheers!
We’ve been patiently waiting 10 years. Through the good and the bad. It’s going to be amazing the day we can sit down and actually read it. All worth it in the end
"Jon's eyes opened and his lungs filled with air. He could not tell how much time had passed since his brothers had plunged their knives in his body. It felt like 10 years."
I suspect Egg wasn't really so much obsessed with dragons as he was with enforcing his reforms. He was challenging the status quo and his nobles didn't like it. Even his children defied him in regards to the marriages he'd arranged. He wasn't in a strong position and the dragons are the great equalizer
Since viserys and rhaelle had a lot of trouble getting another children, It wouldve been reasonable. And the tragedy along with summerhall it made sense.
I think the whole king's blood thing is more to do with the belief of the spell caster than who the sacrifice happens to be related to. It gives them more confidence and the spells work better. It's the only thing that makes sense given the whole "rightful king" thing is about political and military power. Did Aegon's blood suddenly become king's blood when he conquered Westeros? Did kneeling change Torrhen Stark's blood back to regular? Did Robb's change back to king's? The Martels called themselves princes, not kings, but they had self rule a lot longer than the Greyjoys, who call themselves kings.
I feel like making it do there are questions that are not going to get answers makes the world feel more real. There are a lot of things about this world we don't know and it feels right for that to hold true in a world that the author has put a great deal of work into making it feel real in other ways
Hi Robert! I don’t think the lotr series is being released next year in sept just for the post production work. But it’s bilbo and frodos birthday and that’s an homage to that special day
Varys is "the Mummer," and Aegon is his dragon. So Aegon is certainly "the Mummer's dragon," but that phrase in and of itself is not evidence that he's fake. Targaryen or Blackfyre, he would still be "the Mummer's dragon." That's exactly the sort of word game George likes to play with his writing.
@@praetorxyn in context, it is. When Dany learns about the Mummer’s dragon, she learns she must cut down him down as she is the “Slayer of Lies”. Also, Tyrion ( albeit not that great with guessing the age of someone) estimates Young Griff to be 14-15, he should be 18-20
I believe that that Dany's vision of a stone beast taking wing from a burning tower is about Shireen spreading greyscale from Dragonstone, because the castle is fashioned like a gigantic group of stone dragons and it was early enough that Jon Connington might not have been conceived of as the major vector of greyscale instead.
Can’t believe I’m not the only one who has thought about Malora Hightower as the woman with the pale white fire next to euron. Not that I think that’s where George will go, but with the Hightower’s sneakiness & connections to magic, there’s a pairing with Euron that feels really natural too me...even if it’s purely temporary for both sides & each is planning on replacing the other ASAP. Euron getting his easy conquest of the reach to sate the IB desire for plunder + help in stealing a dragon from a magic family that has tried to get dragons before. The Hightower’s saving Oldtown from destruction after Euron devastates the redwyne fleet...and maybe even getting their blood on the throne next to a dragon rider again. The preparations could be to ensure they have a negotiating position with Euron other than ‘we know magic’...which didn’t do much for the Warlocks. We know that real world Vikings who would basically pull up to a city/town, assess it’s defenses, and then decide whether they had come to raid or trade. That could be what the Hightower’s are thinking here; if they look like they would be a nuisance that delayed Euron’s plans, that would let them negotiate an end to the siege via a marriage (rock or salt) & help stealing a dragon.
Hope all is well across the pond. These live streams help me forget if only for a bit the bullshit going on in the world. Starting to take our freedoms in the states. No bullshit on that but watching these live streams and other vids on ur channel help me forget about that for a while. Thank u.
The fact that the show did absolutely nothing with John's true heritage is one of the biggest wtf?? That was one of the most exciting discoveries ever! Even tho Lot of ppl guessed it sooner, it should've had more importance besides Dannies overly fast downfall into madness. Gahh it still stings!
"A great stone beast takes wing from a smoking tower, breathing shadows" is almost certainly Euron Greyjoy. He sits the Sea-Stone chair (great stone beast), he's on his way to destroy Old Town (after which the tower of Old Town would be left a smoking ruin,) and he's a purveyor of blood magic, which is often associated with shadows. He's also got a plan to steal at least one of Dany's dragons, which could also tie into the "beast" "taking wing" AND "breathing shadows" (fire.) Those three visions all being in a row are because they're her primary rivals for the rule of Westeros. Stannis, Faegon, and Euron, in order of how serious a threat they are. I think the thing that throws people off on that particular prophecy is that Euron seems to be mentioned again, 2 visions later, as the "corpse standing at the prow of a ship with bright eyes and grey smiling lips." That's pretty clearly Euron as well. As for why he'd be in two prophecies....I can only assume Dany's going to have to confront him twice. Once as a man....and once again after he uses the blood magic ritual that originally created the Others (which he'll find in Old Town) and becomes a second Night's King. That's my theory, anyways. The main competing theory, which you mentioned, is that it's Jon Connington, who has greyscale and who's house sigil is a winged beast. Purely guessing at this point, but given Connington's role in the story as basically a tragic figure....Dany's eventual defeat of Faegon might be due to Connington giving Faegon Greyscale....which a true Targ would be immune to, giving Dany the proof she needs that he's a fraud.

I think the letter from dorn consisted of Rheaneys last words along with the location of something left for him at dragonstone in order to verify or something she wanted him to have...
With the Tower of Joy question; What is the Kingsguard's primaril job above all else? To protect the King. At that moment in time Aerys was dead, Rhaegar was dead, and as far as they were aware, Aegon was dead. That makes the male infant they are guarding their king and therefore will not part with him to the Usurpers best buddy. Before the show confirmed it, I took this as confirmation that Jon wasnt just Rhaegar's child but also legitmate, as he would not be their king unless he was legitmate and therefore the secret marriage would have to have happened.
possible question for a future video: Why did the Wraiths keep slavishly following Sauron even after Sauron lost the One Ring that ruled them all - even though the Elves could use their rings now without any influence from Sauron?
The red door and the lemon tree also intrigues me. Lemon trees can't grow in Braavos naturally as it is right up against the Shivering Sea. So could this red door have lead into some sort of warm greenhouse? Mimicking something like The Crystal Palace in London. Yes, I know that Albert's Victorian vision, so not medieval but some kind of glass house would have been needed.
@@GlidusFlowers But Winterfell also has underground hot springs or suchlike. It doesn't get as cold there as other places. You are right they can grow food there.

Perhaps the dreams were prophetic. It’s a pretty popular theory that the post-dance-of-dragons Targaryens dreamt of Dany, and assumed the dream was about them selves
it makes way more sense for jon’s targaryen name given to him by his mother was likely aemon because another aegon would be way too repetitive from a reader’s perspective and boring. it made more sense for aemon because most kings named aegon had a younger brother aemon. also jon is close to maester aemon so it would be sweet if they had the same name. also aemon the dragonknight was rumoured to be having an affair with princess daenerys who was married to their brother aegon iv and it’s clear there’s going to be a romantic affair between our daenerys and jon so aemon would be a poetic name to give him. jon is also shown in flashbacks/memories to idolise aemon the dragonknight so🤷🏽♀️
I don't think the Hightowers are currently in league with Euron but I do suspect they'll end up joining forces with him. Probably after he wins his eminent sea battle.

Ok, hot take here, but aegons septer is taine the sandsnake’s mother, which means Oberon was aware of aegon in all likelihood even if doren was not. The house with the red door and the lemon trees are likely some allusion to lemonwood(weakest part of the chain here). Since oberyn shared everything with his paramour, shouldn’t she know the veracity of aegons claim? Seems oberyns whole life was spent plotting revenge, so it only follows that he was likely tied up with Varys and allerio. I wonder who else this might indicate involved in these plots.
The reason Benjin Stark joined the Watch was that HE KNEW what was going on between Ragar and Leana. He even aided Leana in her exploits. If Robert ever found out about that, Benjin's life and the lives of the entire Stark clan would not have been worth pig spit. If not Robert, Tyrell Lanister and/or Circe certainly would have.
The Targarian "Madness" IMO is mostly brought about by their frustration of having no Dragons to re-establish themselves as the main players and allow them(think Egg!) to implement changes and dominance of the realm, take "The Mad king" for instance, he was totally right when he thought there was a conspiracy to remove him and knew also that Rheagar was involved so he's paranoia was justified,, as for some Targs drinking Wildfire! I see this as a desperate inner will to "Awaken the Dragon" in them as they require a dragon to help them become more than just another normal house, and also aswell who knows what the Maesters or the Pyromancers were whispering in their ears coz if they were to die they would be labeled "Mad" and were it to work they would be powerful again and indebted to them so win win!!
Was the best way to survive as a Targaryen to ally yourself with Bloodraven, after his birth? Barely any did this, but hypothetically, would that have been the best route to survival?
Mine is, why is dany totally immune to fire damage? No other Targarian has this ability. Is it a sign of the return of magic to the world? Is she more dragon than man?
Not really a mystery per say, and we'll definitely find out by the end of the books, but who does everyone think will get The Dreadfort when all the Bolton's are wiped of the face of Planetos?
Targaryen bastards are not automatically called blackfyres. The blackfyre house originated from Aegon the Unworthy legitimizing all of his bastards before he died. Daemon decided to choose the cadet house name of Blackfyre after the Targaryen Valyrian steel sword Blackfyre which he owned at the time.
@@victorgibelli6871 is 100% correct. He would either be Tyrion Hill or Tyrion Waters (if he was born in the Westerlands or the Riverlands (includes King’s landing) respectively)
from the way this so called aegon acted and is present in a dance with dragons shows that he’s immature, spoilt and easily manipulated so i doubt he’d make a good king.
@@heaven9926 I wouldn't call Dany much of a great leader. She struggles a lot with bad decisions, but she has dragons, so there's not much anyone can do about it. Other than to try to make her feel guilty after the fact. We see this with every big decision she's made after hatching the dragons.

Much love from hell/Texas
Hell isn't quite accurate Hell seems like Cancun compared to Texas - East Texans
He's Adar in the Rings of Power 😱😎
Could have cried when Robert made the joke about Tommen doing the high jump 😭😭😭
Was the best way to survive as a Targaryen to ally yourself with Bloodraven, after his birth? Barely any did this, but hypothetically, would that have been the best route to survival?
The cat may have memories that arya will see
Mine is, why is dany totally immune to fire damage? No other Targarian has this ability. Is it a sign of the return of magic to the world? Is she more dragon than man?
So what you're saying is the Blackwoods and the Brackens are "Two households both alike in dignity" ?
Is Sansa a warg? Did Ned killing Lady stop her having the same powers as her siblings or has she just not discovered them yet?
I don't believe Sansa was smart enough or "Stark" enough to warg. A Tully through and through.
Not really a mystery per say, and we'll definitely find out by the end of the books, but who does everyone think will get The Dreadfort when all the Bolton's are wiped of the face of Planetos?
1:29:43 Tommen Daley
😄
Tyrion would be a Targaryan bastard no? Which means he would be Tyrion Blackfyre right? Could be wrong just asking
He wouldn't have been classed as a bastard. His mother was married. Have you never heard of " mommas baby papas maybe "?
Dan the Dog is a good boi
Rhaenys had Martell look and Aerys said her and Aegon not real dragons.
from the way this so called aegon acted and is present in a dance with dragons shows that he’s immature, spoilt and easily manipulated so i doubt he’d make a good king.
So he's like every other 14 year old that ever lived!
@@feral7523 when you take into consideration robb, jon and dany who are leaders he falls short
@@heaven9926 were leaders,as two are dead and one is a prisoner
@@heaven9926 I wouldn't call Dany much of a great leader. She struggles a lot with bad decisions, but she has dragons, so there's not much anyone can do about it. Other than to try to make her feel guilty after the fact. We see this with every big decision she's made after hatching the dragons.
DAN!!!!
Why didn't Ned tell Cat about Jon??!!
Did Amon know the truth about Jon?
How does a fictional story create such an amazing community pooled together under a white tree with red leaves...lol
OR a black tree with blue leaves on the other side of the pool... lol
Weren’t all of us fantasy fans obsessed with dragons at one point or another?
I want to know if Dylan buzzbe(sp?) ever published his children’s book!
I think Aerys really only went downhill after duskendale, even if he had signs before
Dan the dog!!
,,, ' Blut ist ein ganz besond'rer Saft! " gOethe ... so,, perhaps even One Drop might make ... difference ...
