On “My Car Story” we're in Rosemont IL at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals on 11-15-18.
We’re looking at a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona in Hemi Orange Paint. The car features a factory installed 440 CI V8 engine.
The car's Owners are Mike & Darlene Charles. Darlene’s Dad bought this car new. Mike shares details of this car with under 10,000 original miles! This restored car is an award winner.

Lou I'm just have no words to describe this car but I can day it is the nicest winged Daytona I have ever seen. I remember this color and I love it! Nine thousand miles wow and one owner! He had truly got a treasure there that is worth boo Koo bucks! I was eleven years old when these came out and I remember my local dealer had a couple sitting out front to sell. I just love that color combination! Those turn signals on the hood could be bad bulbs or the sockets have a little corrosion in them. I am.just awed by this car! My favorite old car in the Mopar lineup! Thanks Lou for sharing!

Superb! Just awesome. I see the red 4 door Plymouth Sebring, in the back ground that was made out of raw materials. No parts off of any car inside or out. That was unique also

@@loucostabile Hi Lou, the Brazilian Dodge Polara was based on the Hillman Avenger Tiger platform, but It is a two door, The engine is a 4 cylinders 1.8 littres. You also have a version of this car in US in the 70s It was the Plymouth Cricket, but It was a 4 Doors with a 1.5 littres 4 Cylinders engine. I actually owned one! Okay I was a kid and it was either a Hotwheels or Matchbox version - but I owned it! I have no idea what happened to it, but I bet its waiting in some scrap pile for someone to restore. (heh)

Wow this car is stupid rare!! I believe Only 508 of these Daytonas we're built and only a handful were equipped with the hemi..it's crazy rare to see one.. insanely rare to see one equipped with a HEMI!!! W😲w 2 awesome just 2 awesome!!👍

What an amazing Daytona & Car Story, Lou! Thanks for sharing both w/us. As an interesting car guy side note/day dream, the original car dealership for this Datyona was not too far from Don Yenko's dealership. Kinda makes me wonder how many stopights were in between the two...

Don't those lead acid batteries kind of give off gases that sort of Booger up the engine compartment?

I have about 30 to 50 Daytona Charger's...................in mostly 1/64 , 1/24 and 1/18 scale , I made a video a month ago and I still only have 1 view...if you like Charger's in toy form, I got you covered, oh yeah... NICE CAR!!!
