OMG I’m so sorry, I forgot to specify that I was using the powdered fabric dye. You can also use the liquid dye, however I find that it tends to be more expensive (theres also more of it and comes in a bottle, so it’s easier to keep reusing), but it dilutes easier. The powder is very concentrated. Either one works, and I have used both!
Hi, I'd love to do this to a synthetic platinum blonde wig I have - can you tell me exactly how much water you used as I don't want to overdo it. I want silver not darker grey. Yours looks freakin' gorgeous!

However, the Chinese have weird shades and what was sent to me is a ombre/blond/, and being an old guy, I am definitely with grey hair. Please tell me what to use to get mine to look like yours. Help!!!!!
Did you wash it out right after you took it out the dye? Or you let it drip dry then wash? Or just strictly drip dried without washing? This is perfect. I’ve been wanting to do this for the longest and how you did it is how I wanted my wig to look.
Maria Avalon I didn’t wash it out at all! I just hung it up in my shower overnight and wore it the next day like that. It hasn’t transferred or bled and I’ve even worn it in the rain with no dye transfer.
Star Mayers since it’s synthetic I don’t think so! I’ve actually seen a bunch of people using boiling water to get the hair to curl more (and if the curls on your wig do loosen, you can perm rod it, and dip it in boiling water again to make the curls stay!)
Does the wig feel crispy or stiff after fabric dye is applied? Like.....does it lose its silky texture or its bounce/shine? Also......mine is very curly & I'm not sure how best to dye it (synthetic) without risking losing the curls :-( :-(
Great tutorial! Try & shorten your intro. You spent 2.min/30 seconds talking about blah, blah, blah! Get to the point!!! Oh by the way, to avoid the crunchy feeling afterwards, after rinsing the dye out, soak wig in fabric softener for 1 min to soften.😊

Yes I've done this 1/2 box was perfect for me in about 3 mins my white topper is perfect . Great video

You should’ve tried putting some form of curling rods in it so the hot water doesn’t do much to the curls but this is really cute

Rinse in cold water till the water runs clear.
I heard putting a curly wig in boiling water damages the curls. Is that true because I’m true to dye my hair with RIT dye today...

Lord Farquaad the lighter the blonde the better it’ll take the color! Platinum usually works fine for me especially if it’s really light.

ChiCca Bee Nope! It didn’t change how it felt at all. And the hot water didn’t affect the curls at all.
Did you have to recurl the wig after the super hot water?
