Camino Day 9: Roncesvalles to Larrasoana. Slow-Worm on the Camino.

- We are walking the Camino de Santiago, a 550 mile adventure, from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain and then to Cape Finesterre, Spain.
The Camino starts at your front door.
On Day 9 we walked from Roncesvalles, Spain to Larrasoana, Spain.
That is a slow-worm. It's actually a legless lizard that eats slugs, snails, and small insects. They are harmless, beautiful, gentle creatures who are normally quite shy and remain hidden a lot of the time as they burrow. What a treat to see one.
Sorry for my delayed response. Thank you for identifying the slow-worm. That's cool! I just assumed it was a snake. We let it be. Luckily I didn't step on it.
