My agency issued the Mini-14 as a patrol rifle for about 30 years. They were fine. We replaced them with AR15s about 10 years ago and people like them better. Good video, more please!
Always nice to new people get involved in semi rifle shooting. I do suggest that Ruger designed the Mini 14 from the US RIFLE M14 that was in a larger caliber. That rifle was derived from the M1. Hopefully, the Bruen case will eventually allow us our firearms rights per the 2A so you can use full magazines without restrictions.
I love rugers you can service most rugers yourself without taking it to a gunsmithing they are overbuilt and if u need to send a gun back the customer service is one of the best
Congratulations on the birth of your baby! Excellent presentation of this great American rifle. Sorry to hear the additional troubles the good people of Washington have to put up with in regards to firearm freedoms. All the best to you and your family this holiday season! God bless!
I had a mini 14 over 35 years ago. I could not get that thing to group no matter what I did. 3 inch groups at 100 yards. Went to my favorite gunsmith gun shop and traded it for a M1 garand. That rifle shot really good after a little accurizing work. I could shoot 3/4 inch groups with the peep sights at 100 yards. Long before my cataract surgery lol.
Great review glad to see you back, I was wondering where you went. Congratulations on the little one. The Mini 14, people either love them or they hate them. I have a tactical model that I changed over to a very nice aftermarket wooden stock that I re finished myself. Also lapped in the trigger, buttery smooth now, I really love this platform.
"You can also improve Mini14's 'accuracy' by giving it the trigger job by Accuracy System TM. Also, marksmanship training at the Project Appleseed will help a lot."
These rifles are great by any measure. I just got the (new) 300 Black out. Great to see you enjoying yours. I don’t think you will be disappointed. Great video - new sub. //ji
Congratulations on your lifes addition to your family. Cudos Be plentiful! Nice selection of rifle choice. Practice with it often and pray you’ll only be in competition while shooting it.
I like the way you have it set up!! It's beautiful, but also outdated... no light; and some folks need a "red dot" scope or such, but I prefer iron sights. Thanks for sharing!
Funny, in proportion to your (small) body size, you holding your Mini-14 looks like me holding my M1A :) Anyway, Congrats on your new child and thank for the video!
Very nice, I did almost the same thing to my 184 series. There is a very hard to find flash hider with bayonet lug that looks just like the M-14 set up. There's also an adaptor available that lets you use a real M-14 flash hider.
I had a 1984 Mini-14 with a choate folder and the barrel cut down to 13". I had a pinned and welded Choate M-14 copy flash hider/front sight installed on it. It wasn't very accurate though. My AR-15A1 would out shoot it all day long.
If you like the Mini-14, you should try its grandma, the M-1 Carbine. The M-1 is a little less capable, being able to only reach out to 200 meters accurately. But it's much smaller and lighter.
How easy/difficult was adjusting the rear peep site? W/the wood stock what's the weight of the rifle unloaded? Since this is a new production rifle, I hope Ruger installed a more accurate barrels then in the past. Since Washington has become a "ban" state, better to something then nothing at all. Great video
It's very simple adjusting the peep sight. I use the tip of a bullet. TechSights makes a special adjustment tool but the tip of your 5.56/223 works fine. This is a new production rifle so it has the thicker, tapered barrel compared to the old pencil barrels. It is supposedly more accurate with better heat dissipation. As for the weight, I am honestly not positive but it feels like 7lbs. Thanks for watching!
I have never seen that barrel shroud before. Who makes it? It really does represent the M1A1. Edit: Choate! Painted brown.....I must have been messing with the cat! ( or perhaps he was messing with me.)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! BOY OR GIRL? LOve your video, that mini 14 is SU-WEEEEEEEET!!!! The video is very informative and well done. So sorry yall live in a communist state... AGAIN, congrats on your new addition to yalls family... childwise, the mini 14 is a great add to yalls arsenal!

The A Team gun
Just need the A-Team folding stock now.
@@Aventura.out. Have you thought about attaching a LPVO to your Mini? Maybe a 1x6 or 1x8 power, would help with accuracy at 100 yards and beyond...
I love it when a plan comes together.
Maybe in the future after getting the Hannibal rail on it first.
No
I have one of the original Mini14 from the 70s in the collection. Love it
Very nice Mini 14 with well thought out upgrades. Nice to see you shooting it!

I have the same mini14 with the ATI folding stock, but seeing your mini with the wooden stock making me go back to the wooden stock , beautiful tool
I love rugers you can service most rugers yourself without taking it to a gunsmithing they are overbuilt and if u need to send a gun back the customer service is one of the best
Looks cool with those changes.

Thank you for your support!
Congratulations, Mom, and welcome back.
Thank you so much 😀

Thank you for sharing your experience.
Not sure why I have never run across this channel. Good video, thanks

Thank you! I definitely love the Mini.
Congratulations on becoming parents : )
Glad to have you back - always love your videos, and this one is no exception

Great to see you back again! Hope you are doing well! Amazing content as usual :D
Thank you!
Congrats on the baby
Nice piece of machinery. Maybe one of these days I'll possess one.
I hope you do!
Great video keep'em coming! I've looking at the mini 14 for a while but damn that price tag.
You made the Mini-14 into an actual "Mini-14" aka the M14/M1A's little brother. Why didn't Ruger make it like this from the factory?
The accu strut helps prevent the barrel whip after it heats up. And yes, making it look like big brother is a great touch😊
congrats on the baby! nice video on the rifle, I used to have a mini14 back in the day, great rifle.
Nice carbine , my Ruger Mini 14 is from 1976 , I have a scope mounted on it
Congrats on baby!
Thank you!!
Congratulations mom! And yes it does look like a M-14.
These rifles are great by any measure.
I just got the (new) 300 Black out.
Great to see you enjoying yours.
I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Great video - new sub. //ji
Thanks for the support!
It does look alot like an m1a/ m14 Nice work.
Congratulations!🎉
What a nice piece of it! look like a mini version of the venerable M-14!
Sweet looking rifle.
Congratulations on being a mom.
Congratulations on your lifes addition to your family. Cudos Be plentiful!
Nice selection of rifle choice.

I agree!
I need to add the accu strut to mine. 😊 Black composite stock on it and the m14. So it definitely will add in the looks department. Great upgrade 🇺🇸🦅🗽
Nice rifle! Take care! 👍👍
I have one with brushed stainless steel and black stock ( really wanted wood and blued steel ) It is a great rifle . I also live in a ban state
Congratulations
Funny, in proportion to your (small) body size, you holding your Mini-14 looks like me holding my M1A :) Anyway, Congrats on your new child and thank for the video!
Thank you so much!
🇦🇺😎👍Beautiful gun as well
I Have a mini thirty. Great guns.
That is a beautiful example--very similar to mine in that it is newer with the improved barrel (I believe). Pretty rifle for sure.
Thank you!
The barrel strut is one of the best upgrades you can do for the Mini-14. It really improves the accuracy (by improving harmonics)

Yes, Accuracy Systems Inc makes the M1A adaptor but it is very pricey.
👍
Need a rear bag for the belly if the stock when shooting off the bench.
It really looks like a scaled down M-14 with your setup
Nice looking gun
Nice! It does look like an M14
Perfect for coyote defense

Thanks for the suggestion. I am actually eyeing the Granddaddy of them all, the M1 Garand :)
I wish I had that mini14 it looks nice.
Take a look at the Accuracy System’s walnut stocks, and it would really look M14ish!
I saw their wood stocks, pretty but a bit expensive.
You should look in to Tech-Sights rear sight as well as products from Cogburn Arsenal.
It actually has the TS Rear Peep Sight, forgot to mention it!
Very nice, try swim thru the sling helps stabilization
long time no see!
I want that rifle!
Thank you!
Nice. 👍
Nice !!
From IL and just got one. I like it because it not an ar15. But I wish the price was like an ar15

I wonder if hers mangles brass then ejects in into the next county as mine does
With the adjustable gas block I was able to tune down the gas. The brass now empties out at 3 o'clock in a nice little pile.
Did this Mini 14 start out as a tactical mini 14 ?
It is a Mini-14 Ranch Model.
An entire magazine without a malfunction?!
Yes, 20rds cycle without issue.
what is your favorite weapon that you own or dream weapon of yours?
I would say the PPKS is so far my all time favorite!
New subscrber, where in China are you from?
Originally from the Northeast near Russia-Siberia.
That's better
