It’s like 7th arpeggios but adding the 2nd interval in there. Clever! I’ll have to give these a try and incorporate them into my lesson curriculum for practice. Thanks Rick, hope you’re doing well! Been watching for over 10 years and still never cease to amaze.❤
hi rick, nice to see you again, and take all the time YOU need for your entire life! thanx for your inspiration & lovely greetings from the german musician
You are a scholar, mate! I know because I'm also a guitar nerd, always trying to find new shapes and variations, hahaha. Another crazy cats I dig are Marshall Harrison, Alex Hutchings and Claudio Petronik. Also Jarle Olsen, even when I haven't been listening to him for years. I enjoy your playing so much, guys!
Great teacher. I learnt this 3/1 for speed sweep style pentatonic ala Frank Gambale. You managed to create locrian….that sounds really cool/good, hahaha
First off. You're the goat. You're skills are amazing. Thank you for sharing your acquired wisdom for the youth big dawg. Thank you. Second, speaking of Charvel, where or how can I find thr exact Charvel 750XL type model that Shawn Lane used in '93? (Archtop w/ zero fretboard radius and everything.) I know Vigier made signature series for Mr. Lane but I prefer the Charvel specs. Any ideas, maybe customize a Jackson replica?
Cheers rick for sharing these ideas, i've done the normal arpeggios but love the idea of leaving out the 4th & changing the second octave to add more interest intervalicly. Off work from tomorrow for the week so gonna write these out & see what i come up with. Always looking for fresh ideas to teach my own students & push my own learning curve. Great to hear your doing well man. Are ya back lifting the weights yet?
Rick I need your help. How much optimized, serious, focused guitar practice should I do daily whilst being mindfull of longevity and avoidance of injury. Especially if I am hitting the gym to (it brings more fatigue). I love practicing my instrument. Usually when I ask this question I am hit with a response - "Do you even want to do this?" Yes, however it would be preferable not to damage my hands, tendons and fingers whilst developing my craft. Thank you for all and any suggestions.
Wonderful concept once again Rick, your teaching and guitar skills are amazing! Question: When playing on the IV chord you repeat the same arpeggio as on the I, not using the #4 in the arpeggio as you said. Why is this? It's entirely possible to add the #4 in the low octave part, just like the b5 in the locrian one, and it sounds pretty awesome actually. Especially with the repeating sequence, the 3 notes in the bottom create this awesome sus sound too. Also playing the #4 on the b string instead of the 3 is possible. I was just wondering why you chose not to go this way for this chord specifically? I hope this doesn't get perceived as criticism, but rather curiosity for this amazing concept!
Purely for consistency. If I go off on a tangent, it runs the risk of losing the common thread of choosing the same intervals for each successive pattern. Thanks for your comment!
My fingers hurt just by looking at these rusty strings. Try Elixirs, Rick. They last for a REALLY LONG TIME and keep the bright tone of the new set forever
I'm not doing so well right now. And that's fine, I suppose. We're all allowed to have those days. Hopefully you are doing well, hopefully you all are doing well.

Dude fr. This guy is criminally, CRIMINALLY underrated. This guy is seriously masterful it's mind-blowing.
Extreeeemely useful, especially that turnaround on the low strings. It makes it loop really smoothly. Nice one Rick. Carlo 👍🏼🎸
Yes Rick, most certainly, but i'll tell you in 25 years when i could give it a go at 50% speed😂

Great Stuff! I need to get more away from the scalar playing in used more arpeggiated shapes.
Clickbait thumbnail! 😂 I love you Rick!
These arpeggios sound beautiful and remind me of Final Fantasy VII, which is a good thing :-)
Cheers Rick 👍

I was wondering about that myself. I thought maybe they were some kind of coated string. Finger funk is a coating I suppose. 😂

Rick have you ever tried John Petrucci's beard oil!? I want some for christmas XD
Time to change the strings Rick ^^
Fantastic 🔥
I apologize but I can't understand the return of the arpeggio😢
