This was awesome!!! I’ve been following and watching Simon for well over 20years I’ve seen him at music shows and demonstration evenings, super Nice guy and an absolutely amazing guitarist!! Keep up the great work👍
"=1" is an absolute masterpiece. Like everyone, I bought "Perfect Strangers" back in the day. The new album has brought me back to Deep Purple. I can only hope that there will be a follow up album.
His 'warm ups' playing some Gary Moore are phenomenal - it's the closest I've heard someone get to the great man himself. Delighted to see Simon get this platform with DP.
Saw Simon do a pedal promo show in Glasgow then afterwards bumped into him in a curry restaurant after it and chatted away like your mate down the pub . A few months later boom ! He gets the Purple gig ! Saw him last week in Glasgow and he was great , proper pro and helluva nice guy , wish him every success. The PRS /Engl setup is a beauty. 🎸
Simon is the best gift that could have happened to DP, a perfect quite old-school vibe and at the same time completely new energy for the band and, of course, great talent and musical taste
Dude vaping at the mixing desk made me laugh. Simon is one of rock's current cream of the crop! What a bloke! I also love his board/guitar/setup. That Pedal Show appearance is well worth a watch too!
As a lighting guy in the mid-90s, the guitarist in a band I work with on the regular was complaining about how directional his slant quad box was. If he moved left or right, he'd lose the guitar. Yet when he'd sing, the speakers were pointed at the back of his head, and he couldn't hear the monitors. So I suggested we lift the cab up on 4 milk creates & laid the quad box on its side. Initially, he didn't like the look of it, but after sound checking 4 full songs, he was sold. The spread across the stage was perfect & when singing, there was a perfect dead spot that he asked for the monitors to be turned down now. Stayed that way for years.
Has fit in well after Steve who left in such sad circumstances. I’m a huge Morse fan and he saved Purple in the 90’s, but Simon has been his own man and done well.
Remember years ago when he had a mop of curly hair demonstrating PRS guitars in the basement of the Grey Street hotel. Don't know if it was called something else then.
Here would be my rig rundown…..”well, I have this hss strat here, then this cable goes from the guitar and runs over to that amp head which is connected to the 4x10 cabinet under neath it.” Not that I would ever get a rig rundown, but that would be it. Volume on guitar determines clean, rhythm, solo. Kinda like angus young without the little preamp upfront and that power conditioner. I love effects just like any other fella, but there is a fun factor in minimalism. Mr McBrides rig sounds outstanding.
@@DrMurdercock i'm not a PRS, Gibson or Fender (I don't like to be a brandfan), but the thing that we know (from HL itself) is that the guitar WAS a prototype (You can have cheaper or expensive ones).
They're great. I had one a few years ago. The only reason I got rid of it was the "Sugar Skull" graphic...it freaked me out a little. Otherwise, you could record an entire album with an ID Core.
Love this!! Old school real tube rig!! All you digital modeling guys, grow up and learn how to use a real tube amp and cabs and pedals LIVE! And no, your rig can’t sound like this!! Real men use tube amps! 🤘🏽😎
Simon is an absolute monster player. And certainly knows his tone.

Awesome, bloke brought his own shoes and has found his own sound to make his mark on the purple legacy 🤘🎸
What is a "bloke"
@@Jeremya74I think it’s a“ classic rock guy „ thing. 😂😂😂
@@Jeremya74It’s an English word meaning ‘man’. A friendly description 😎
Brought his Vans lol. 👟
That’s my favorite PRS guitar I’ve ever seen. The charcoal striped.
I’m loving that charcoal guitar. Geez

awesome, I love Simon's humbleness and simplicity, amazing guitarist, thanks
Simon is a great fit with DP. A huge talent and nice fella with no ego!

Love to see Tommy in the background! Respect for the best tech
Enjoyed watching Simon back in the day when he was the support act for Paul Gilbert playing in Bristol.
Fantastic player, fantastic rundown. Always better when there’s some guitar playing
What a great player and cool guy!
Thanks a lot! ❤
Simon is the best gift that could have happened to DP, a perfect quite old-school vibe and at the same time completely new energy for the band and, of course, great talent and musical taste
0:25 the smile hearing the delay says it all
Insanely clean playing and honestly one of the best tones i’ve heard in a good while
best guitar tones ive ever heard.
Went to that show in AO Arena absolutely crazy brilliant show 🤘👏
Monster sound. The real deal!!!

Perfect tone!
Enjoyable rig rundown, what a Guitarist Simon is, love the pedals too…
Watched him at the O2 in the UK last week. Awesome player and awesome sound
Best guitar tone in Purple ever. 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Excellent player and amazing guitar tone!
Fantastic!!!!!!! 🙌🏽🎸🏆
PRS coil splits are just the best I’ve played
He's killing it. The new album is great.
Love Simons playing
Saw him on Rock in Rio, best guitar sound on that night by far
Hopefully Deep Purple will release some type of live CD or DVD of this tour. 🙏👍🤞🤞
Brilliant player as good as anyone i have seen.
Damn Engl Amps kick serious ass i love them

Legend. Great stuff
Simon is a brilliant guitarist, and the coolest cat around.

Amazing guitarrist❤
Incredible player. He’s the one that turned me on to Xotic pedals.
Sinvertek for me. But man that charcoal guitar is beautiful.
Richie had none of this in the ‘70s, but were he still playing in DP now, I bet he’d have everything Simon has and more !
Daegon is the man.
Guitar 🎉 Rock n Roll 🎉

The best guitar player in DP ever
This gentleman can play very damn good
Great guitar player ❤ Funny roadrunner haircut😊

He plays fantastic..it is what it is!-;)
Hey Tommy...running around in the background ;)
"they never break" Hermin Li watching this remembering breaking a guitar that cost more than I make in a year just to look cool for 5 seconds.
It was a prototype, they have to know how much stress the guitar can resist
@@wizardito7741 it was 30 GRAND. stop making excuses for greedy PRS

You need to do a gear rundown with slash!
Available in the UK?
I still remember when Dpurple started
I saw them twice this summer
Nice to see the blackstar id core 1O sitting there…👀

Steve Morse can take sum rest now, fantastic player!
Fa sembrare semplice e naturale ogni "frase" che suona
I get every fifth word. Cool toys though!
Deep Purple is a crazy loud band I don't know why they are all not def lol.
Yeah bby knocked off that Swiftie girl Coldplay is not bad but great to hear
I can riff out as the same
only the forth guitarist for Deep Pueple?
Unless you count Satriani that toured with them for a year or two.
Taylor Spliff😂
This great.....but Simon is underutilized. ...but I suspect he is paid well.

Deep purple is not the same energy without Richie Blackmore.when you went to see Deep PURPLE YOU WENT TO SEE BLACKMORE PLAY
Why is his hair same as billy idol?
sorry good player , but plays like a million other guitarists...nothing special ...not like steve. morse or blackmore
