      @@stephenpowstinger733setup, simplicity, and cost. A good modem (that can handle the throughput of the network) by itself it much cheaper then one bundled with a router and wireless access point. This is also nice if you go with a mesh system so you do not need that wap in the first place, just comes down to cost and how the equipment is deployed

      Now comes the question of the 6th generation Wifi AX (think its 6th) Twice as much... Is 5th generation with Mu Mimo good enough? So much trouble with connection problems. Wifi issue is like a technology as complicated as PCs.

    Can anybody tell me if it’s posible to get a cable splitter and connect 2 of these cable modems, one main and the other as a repeater or something using the same internet service, if yes, how? I would like to have this type of connection instead of an Ethernet cable set up

    • @toebeeleeyoung5287
      @toebeeleeyoung5287 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to ask your ISP if you can do that, as each cable modem has its own unique identifier ("MAC Address"). The ISP sends the signal into your home and that signal looks for the "MAC Address" they have on record. If your ISP encounters an unfamiliar "MAC Address", it will refuse to communicate with it. I am betting your ISP will demand extra money per month to recognize more than one "MAC Address" at your home, if it is even an option they allow you....TELL ME HOW IT GOES if you attempt this!

MAKE SURE to setup the net gear router on a pc, you have to connect it with a cable from the back of your router and then open google or safari. Then just set it up. DO NOT buy another router buy a MODEM be careful not to waste money.

    I think an AI wrote the script for this from marketing drivel.

    • @network-connect
      @network-connect 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No doubt about that. This is one of the worst marketing ploys out there. The creator obviously doesn't care about consumers wasting their money on products that don't work or are outdated. The only thing the "affiliate marketer" cares about is making a sale for Amazon. I never understood that either, because the product will eventually be returned and the marketing creator will lose the commission. So why not do it right from the start? They are in a hurry to make a sale and don't have a clue about the topic at hand.
      The CM700 was built with a faulty chipset, why it is even still on the market is beyond me. There is even a formed class action against Intel, the maker of the chipset. Please note that this is not a direct fault of the modem manufacturers, Netgear, ARRIS, etc. You can read more about the lawsuit here. www.classactionlawyers.com/puma6
      Also, the NETGEAR C3700 mentioned was a top cable modem maybe 5 - 7 years ago. It was built with wireless N technology. Since then wireless AC has become the standard wireless form. Now, we are even seeing wireless AX or WiFi-6 becoming the norm. The C3700 was first released at the beginning of 2014.
      From reading this, you have probably gathered that I know what I am talking about. That's because I have owned and operated ApprovedModems.com for over 8 years. It is all I do. I wrote this in a matter of minutes. It didn't take any time to do any research because I already knew all about what I wrote.

      Do not buy these modems to avoid current and future problems with the Intel Puma chipsets. This list also includes Intel Puma 7 chipset modems.
      Devices highlighted in bold are the more popular cable modems (best-selling modems).

    All those modems suck horribly. This is from a cable tech who installs them daily. None of them will give you the speeds you hope. Those gig modem speeds are local communication, not internet communications. These modems are only good if you are on 200Mbps downstream or lower speeds.
    The CM700 wifi maxes out at 300 if you use Spectrum, but 420 if you hardwire in.
