I just reinstalled my ABS II module in my 1994 R1100 RS. It was rebuilt by Module Masters in 5 business days. It is now working like brand new!
I cannot say enough about their service and how easy the job was after watching this video. Thanks so very much

Great tutorial and very good information. My local dealers could only offer me an appointment in three weeks to do the diagnostic and then would have to keep me waiting to do the work. I bought the GS 911 diagnostic tool found the fault code and will be sending my ABS unit out to Module Masters. Many Thanks

I recently sent an ABS module to Module Masters for a rebuild for my 2002 R1150 GS. They tested it upon arrival and confirmed plunger faults. Prior to removal, I was able to reset the ABS fault through the diagnostic port. Successful reset was intermittent and got progressively worse to the point it would only reset 1 out of 10 times. Eventually it could not be reset always failing the secondary fault check at roll out. The Clymer manual info on ABS faults was helpful in diagnosis and helped me confirm that this was not a voltage issue. This video provided me everything I needed to successfully remove and reinstall the ABS module. Thank you for making this video.

I have just finished changing my ABS pump on a 2001 K1200lt. Everything went well until I tried to get the pump out of the bike. There is a bar that is in the way. There is a aluminum casting that this bar goes to. I had to unbolt this bar and flex it up about 1/2" then the pump would come out and then slip back in. It is close but this little extra clearance made all the difference. I really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks

I to had Module Masters rebuild my ABS pump on my 2001 K1200lt. They did a excellent job. When the pump came back I thought it was brand new. I was very happy to have ABS brakes again.

I believe once the ABS is removed you would have access to the alternator. This would be a good time to remove the alternator to replace the brushes and voltage regulator. The brushes and voltage regulator are a single unit that plugs in the alternator.

Mine is a Rockster - haven't bled the brakes in years; I dread that job for all the reasons common on the internet; but the brake system is essentially the same if not exactly. Thanks for spreading the knowledge!

I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video. I just changed out my abs modulator on my BMW 2000 R1200C with a unit I bought off of EBAY with 25,000 miles on it. I would not have attempted the task if not for your excellent video. i have no ABS faults and it works. The rear brakes are solid after riding but I will need to bleed the front brakes again. Now I have my old module to send to be rebuilt by Module Master when the eBay modulator starts to fail. Thanks again.

Great job on the video..... lots of great details. Being from Lewiston, Idaho and Moscow is just a hop, skip and a jump away, it's nice to know that they are very close. By the way, if you're from Idaho, you know that there are no cows in Moscow.... it is pronounced "Mosgo" around here. Thanks for the awesome insight on a job that scares most away from tackling!!

This is fantastic! I have to send the ABS unit from my 2001 BMW R1150GS to Module Masters this winter and I'm a little intimidated by the thought of removing and reinstalling. Thanks so much for doing this; it will be a great help.

Will do; I'll be sending my unit in the fall after riding season, reinstalling as soon as it gets back. They sure are saving folks a lot of cash vs an OEM replacement unit from BMW. Thanks once again for your video; you've given me confidence that I can get this done!

Received my ABS unit from Module Masters; reinstalled it this morning and it tested ok, ABS cleared self-test twice. Thanks once again for this instructional video. One note that was different on my 2001 R1150GS: two of the fittings on the ABS unit were 11 millimetres, not 10 as they were on the bike in this video. Important if you're picking up crow's foot wrenches for torquing. I also needed to adjust the angle of the top-most fitting on the unit that is held in place by a 14-millimetre brass coupling in order for the line fitting to screw in properly; it may have gotten adjusted during the rebuild. Otherwise this was much easier than I thought, thanks entirely to your efforts and the fine work done by Module Master.

I have a 2002 R1150 RT with linked brakes... I just replaced my ABS Modulator for $1900, buy them online directly out of Germany and save $900. One of the pumps failed and left a trail of guck in the system. It was likely my fault for NOT BLEEDING NEW BRAKE FLUID every year or so... so there is your warning. Bleed your brakes or expect to cough up some cash.

Was hoping someone with some Know how could offer me input....I've got an 1150RT '04. Washed the bike and the next ride the ABS wouldn't operate with the front brakes. Quick flashing warning light. Went for a short ride and the rear brake works, but not the front brake until after the rear is applied. Which then the front brakes will work. Both having the servo function. But when fully applying either brake they will release then kick in, over and over again. Rolling several yards before engaging once again. I replaced rear pads, front are at 60%. bled and replaced all fluid. **No, I didn't use a pressure washer to wash the bike. The servo works intermittently, I'm hoping and guessing it's a switch or wheel sensor

I own a BMW R1150GS. Year 2000. It has ABS, non-servo brakes. Brakes are working normally. ABS lights are flashing alternately, indicating a problem. I can turn off the ABS, via the handlebar switch. I've seen posts on TH-cam, demonstrating how to reset the ABS, via the three pin diagnostics plug, on a 2000 R1100RT. (This appears to be an American market model). However, my UK market model bike has a six pin, cylindrical plug, on top of the air filter Obviously, I don't want to start earthing terminals randomly, for fear of doing additional damage. Can anyone advise please?

I have the Chiltons and factory manuals. Those are good for the basics of what general tasks/steps need to be done, but they don't give any real-world advice on how to actually accomplish them by talking you through the seemingly-impossible steps of actually getting the unit disconnected from the battery box and removing it from the bike's frame.

Just curious if anyone has had a shop do the removal/reinstallation work as opposed to DIY. I am assuming that a dealer would scoff at touching anything that's remanufactured so that leaves it to the DIY crowd or a independent shop willing to do it. I don't have a ton of time to do this teardown myself hence the question.
