I've watched your videos a dozen times and get more out of them each time I watch them. I grew up in Canandaigua and fished the finger lakes, and ontario. You've really got fishing that area down to a science.
Thanks for the detailed explanation! I’m having a hard time getting the release to slide down the the planer board line. The release clips just stop about mid way and I have to shake the cord to get it down to the board. Any tips on this or am I doing something wrong? Thank you!
Thank you for this update! What is your opinion about these kind of planer”boats” do they pull hard? We might use these for pike fishing in Europe. Using 2-3 rods with heavy swimbaits of 200-250gram. Or will the planer come towards the boat? Ever used a double normal Style planerboard in stead of these and What would you advise? Hope you let me know and wish you good fishin!
I use them pulling copper line, deep diving rapalas, etc. They work great. we use a double keel on the bottom which prevents the board from hanging back too much, when a lot of heavy lines are attached. running 2-3 rods with swimbaits shouldn't be an issue
Great video. I bought big boards and new to trolling and running ppro and see the rubber bands used the question is do I need to for walleye or can I wrap it like you did put it in that kind of clip
I still need to understand how you control the distance between each trolling line since the snap attached to each rod line is feely moving alongside the line towards the planner?? Surely the position of the rod is not enough to keep lines from getting tangled.
It's all about how much line you let out. First, you set a lead from the lure to the release, then you let out line from the rod to the release, and that determines distance
jacob4970 I run them all the same length. The one furthest out will have the most “slack” line when the fish pulls the line off he release, and that line will swing out and around the other lines

Ahhhh haven't done this in years! We used to come to Henderson harbor on lake Ontario every year, we gotta get back!
Yo gmoneystrong! Fishin physicians assistant is in the same bay that I work a charter boat in!

Do you need a pulley or do you just use the cisco mount unit

Do you ever run dipsy divers?
I pretty much always run dipsey divers
When your running 3 lines on one side do you run the furthest back closest to the planer board or closest to the boat?
jacob4970 I run them all the same length. The one furthest out will have the most “slack” line when the fish pulls the line off he release, and that line will swing out and around the other lines
What brand is the red releases your using ?
Joel Stanhope clipper release
Where can a person buy the Joel Stanhope releases?
@@edwardmoller199 Did you find a place to buy the clip releases? I can’t even find them with the name he suggested.
@@bhobbs2584 the releases used in the video look to be “amish outfitter planer board releases”
