@@thickerconstrictor9037 pretty damn good timing and improv skills in sync with his vocals/guitar not falling off, being high makes it more impressive... Acid would give anyone anxiety in front of that big of a crowd, Shannon was just a natural rockstar.
by far the greatest act that played that day and as a melonhead any other day for that matter til the day we lost one of the greatest, most charasmatic frontmen ever however short his time was! to hell with the haters that just cant get it! you always got a helluva show out of all these guys! i miss them so!
I was at Woodstock 94 and I saw this performance and I really do not ever think I will fully be able to fathom the brilliance I witnessed, simply mesmerizing. Though I fully realize the 94 Woodstock could not come close to rivaling the original, I firmly believe it was the closest understanding my generation could have possibly gotten to the ultimate Zen of the original. 4 days of living in faultless harmony and peace with 250,000 brothers and sisters, truly inspiring, and infinite memories
All very Zenful as we lived in the "Now" at those moments without worrying about taking pictures and posting them online for others to see... 🧘🏼♂️🙏💕🌄👍😎
@michaeldobbs4249 you are referring to the 99 Woodstock, this was at the 94 Woodstock. 94 Woodstock still could never compare to the original but truly was 3 days of PEACE Love and great mix of music.
i recorded this on a cassette tape when i was 11 years old. 92.3fm in newyork broadcast the whole woodstock concert and i dubbed it on my familys stereo. those were the good ol days.
My eyes are sweating pretty bad when Shannon kisses his forehead. What an amazingly magical moment... LSD or not. What a great jam and appreciation for each other. ♡
Keep the hope alive man. There are so many incredible musicians and artists in the world and with the rise of the internet the mainstream is dying. It's time for the artists to take the stage again.
i miss shannon hoon and his amazing voice. i know, blind melon was a flash in the pan for most people, a band caught somewhere between grunge and neo hippie crap. but, a man with such an emotive voice was able to set the tone for many other bands and many other genres. this happens to be one of my favorite songs by blind melon, i hope it is yours also!
I hate that I was 4 years old when this happened. Shannon Hoon was a beautiful person and Blind Melon were destined for so much more. I went to an open mic night, and the girl sang this song and no one knew what she was singing, I went mental and she waved me up, so I sang it with her, BEST NIGHT EVER. I love Blind Melon. They make life worth living.
I comment on every Blind Melon video.... and now i am all out of words to express my love towards their music. All i can say now is there music makes me high.
Happy birthday Shannon. All us Melon Heads miss and love you. I hope you feel no pain wherever you are, and you can sing your heart out all day long... You wrote your words on the face of today.
Look at him I'll never live that way...that's ok, YOU COULDN'T ANYWAY!!!" Best damn improv ever...Shannon u still give me goosebumps n tears in my eyes....love u brotha
i may only be 16, but, i still miss what the 90's represented, I live in pain 24/7, just because of this new age. music is my only way, to feel normal, even if it's for 4:00 minutes, still best four minutes ever.
I bet Shannon is very happy he played in this woodstack, I think he was a big 60s era music fan and also he would have loved to see woodstock 69. RIP Shannon
How beatiful was that huh?? This permormance touch my soul, shannon Hoon was a great artist and that is the reason Blind Melon is today my favorite band, PEACE AND LOVE!!
I was in the front to the right, one of the best performances of the festival. It started raining toward the end of the per formance, how ominous. Really glad I quit my job in Texas to go.
Umm what other files might they find? 🤔 you low key just told on yourself while trying to make a joke. Whatever is it you sick fuck you better send it over for me to examine 🤣😂 for research purposes 😂🤣😂🤣 jkjkjk
I can not do with out my daily Shannon Hoon! He will be lifting spirits and reminding people to SMILE long after we are long gone.. That makes my heart warm to know that!
It's a wonder thinking about what great music could have been, had he never gone down that destructive path. We lost, in my opinion, one of the greatest musicians ever!
This is the best rock n roll band of the 90's hands down!!!!! One of the best rock bands of all times!!!! If you like Blind Melon then you have to check out "Letters to a Porcupine", awesome Documentary!!!!!!
yo vi este concierto en el año 1998 cuando tenia 15 años , no sabia porque actuaba así el cantante, ni sabia que estaba viendo el Woodstock 1994 .Saludos desde Perú - Trujillo .
Alice Mudgarden we probably have a lot of the same music in commen! You have great taste as well! Haha! I wanted to be here so bad but I had my son in 1994! He was a preemie ! His actual due date was 4-6-94??!! Too close for comfort! Too much of a sad day for his bday for me!
I think we are!! Yes! I missed some concerts ! Not happy about it still! Haha! But I also went to a lot! So, I didn't really mind ! I love watching all of them on here though!
I'll never forget....I was there in '94, when I was 33, it was amazing. Saw this performance....I believe Shannon Hoon died later the same year, October. It wasn't violent like the '99 show--I think the rain kept people mellow. I was there is a woman I was dating at the time, still a good friend. I can actually pick us out of the crown on the videotape.
Not gonna lie, made me want to too. That and the soulful core of blues, and the fact that my late grandpa had one, I’m seriously starting to love the harmonica.
The world misses Shannon Hoon, the music misses her voice, the show misses her charisma. Magical, emotional, unique. At my first child I decided to give him your name, whether he was a boy or a girl .. For my daughter .. She is called Shannon Bee.
What an amazing weekend of music. Sadly though Alice in Chains had to cancel due to Layne's health I believe. Shannon was looking rough, or at least I thought he was. Too shortly after, both Layne and Shannon passed. The 90's rocked and Woodstock '94 was right in the middle, I saw over 500 shows in the 90's but Woodstock still makes me smile every time I think about it!!
You got that right. I still miss him. The videos of Nico nowadays are tough to watch, I feel like crying. I'm not a stranger, they tried the name Luna? Long Beach, CA... Time for a new wife. )))
Shannon Hoon admitted droppin' acid prior to Blind Melon going on stage for this. How the hell he managed to pull off such great performances of the songs amazes me.
That was a great harmonica solo. If you like that you should look up David Sanborn's saxophone solo on the Eric Clapton and Sheryl Crow edition of Little Wing. It is awesome. Turn down the volume on your speakers first though, the video starts out super loud. Solo starts at about 2:30.
I love how he always changed the lyrics when it suited him at the moment
Suited the moment= was high and messed up.

Yeah until the fires the near riots and river of human shit that ultimately got thrown at bands. This turned into hell not a peace rally at allo

I have grown up on a healthy breakfast lunch and dinner of blind melons and smashin pumpkins. I feel so unhealthily healthy
Im over here staring into the black hole sun in my soundgarden with tons of melons and pumpkins!
Seriously healthy bands

i love how they having so much fun playing together, thats real music
Shannon sends chills down my spine, he belonged up there.
This man... he was as high as he was on acid. And he still laid forth this level of performance.
Last great icon of rock. Just saying.

One of my fav. singers, he had something special, that no one has

I was lucky enough to get to see them back in 92 or 93. I wish I could relive that experience again and again.

Shannon didn't die in October , 94. Was October
1995.
2:08-2:48 is called the Zone! This song is what inspired me to start playing the harmonica. The Peak Zone is at 1:50 & 2:29
