Got rid of mine after 9 months kept cutting out, misfiring and the snatchy throttle drove me nuts. The build quality for Honda was very poor too, crappy welds paint coming off the frame.
Honda realises where the market is going and is reacting accordingly. Good move and a nice looking bike too. This may attract more cash buyers instead of finance too, which is better for the industry as a whole. The one sore point is the NC750, which started off cheap but has crept up to a different price point and is now quite pricey for the relatively basic spec. China and India are coming so adapt or die.
For the price and purpose of the NC750 it desperately needs cruise control for no additional cost. That alone would greatly increase the value quotient.
Bikes are toys (in US anyways), so the prices going up, up, up is lousy and not worth it. This is a shocker, especially from Honda of all people. Really nice! Can’t wait to see the ride reviews.
Having seen the SP in person, the colour is actually a graphite metallic dark grey in matte finish over most of the bike but with a glossier satin finish on the tank. It's stunning and "black" certainly doesn't describe it.
I owned a 2015 model, and i changed out the suspension components on that bike, plus a lot of other bits and bobs to make it my own. But this SP version makes me think i should consider this as my next bike. I am currently riding a 2019 Kawasaki GTR 1400 (Concours) its a big bike! I loved the sporty feel of the CB 1000R, overall a really good street bike.
My Street Triple Moto2 has the Quickshifter and I added cruise and heated grips but that thing was $$$ expensive! I have not rode a Honda 4-banger since the late 1980’s so this one looks 🔥 to me. If Honda brings this to the U.S. market my wife is going to kill me!
Amazing news. The SP colours look fantastic with the gold wheels. Respect to Honda for nailing the price, especially when all other manufacturers are getting more and more steep (KTM). This happens to be coming out as soon as I pay off my current bike!
This just might be the first ever new bike I buy, if I can actually find one at a local dealer within driving distance here in the US... I've been all over the place with bikes for the last few years, now I'm loving the first real bike I ever rode, all this time and I've finally settled (I think) on the same bike and generation- a 2011 CBR-1K, and it's EXACTLY how I remember it. I just realized that I need a second, more "laid back", bike to really put miles on without being hunched over all day. If the Hornet is anywhere near as good as the CBR, then it's a huge win in my books!
I am glad they left the Neo sport cafe alone. That 2nd gen of the 1000 is just beautiful to my eye. I am glad they chose to change it up. Attracting ducats lovers 7/8 of their dream bike for 1/2 price Honda❤ so smart.
Started my life on a Honda then switched to Yami. This bike looks the part. I realy like it. Think Honda nailed it this time. Good looking bike with good specs.
Hats off to Honda! Terrific affordable value. The looks are a great improvement in line with Ducati styling, at half the price. Fantastic! As for the 750 hornet, it needs an SP version for an already good bike, but it needs to be more premium. Hence an SP version.
Wow well done Honda for releasing it and the base model looks perfect for customisation? Looks awesome in red 👍SP be great in black for 10k you have to go for the SP well explained and good video!!
Yes siree Bob! That is a great bike that will no doubt sell well. Glad to see the the neo cafe racer look is gone along with the single sided swing arm. I could never get on with that look for some reason. The black SP has thr right amount of sinister! This will open many doors to customization.
If they do , and I mean IF.... it will be 2027 and only black - HONDA HATES NORTH AMERICA. Honda wouldn't even take some different color plastics for the cb650r and move them to the USA product line ...ITS MADE IN THE SAME FACTORY.....
Bought a brand new 750 Hornet, didn't have the money for the 1000r. I watched 6 hours of TH-cam videos including yours and none mention the fact it was as snatchy as hell. Loads of rider complaining in FB Forums about it. I was sent a throttle reset by a former Honda R&D worker, completely smoothed out the bike. Love how light it is at 199kg, as I had a Honda VFR 1200f at 280kg. Only thing I'm not keen on is the exhaust sound. March 2026 this new 1000SP will be the bike I look at. Most of my bikes have been around 200kg so the little extra weight will be ok.
I just bought a 2023 CB650R a couple years ago thinking I would have it for a long term commuter because it's perfect for the power level. but this new one has me thinking.
I would keep the 650R mate I bought a 750 Hornet brand new because it looked like a fantastic deal with all the kit. You could see evidence of cost cutting everywhere! Crappy welds, paint coming off the frame! It used to cut out and misfire when Honda checked it I was told there’s nothing wrong with it! The 1000 Hornet will probably be the same! The frame looks similar so probably has the same poor paint job and welds. I dealed it in on a 2023 CB650R and absolutely love it even without a tft up and down quick shifter. The 650 is a beautiful bike and you can clearly see the build quality is far superior. I use mine everyday and it’s the perfect commuter, don’t need a heavier more powerful bike.
@DavidSmith-hn5gg That's honestly too bad. I love my 650 to death because it's been bulletproof and honestly think it's one of the best looking bikes made for a very long time. I get compliments constantly on it. Can't do the 1390SDR because of the reliability, the Streetfighter V4S maintenance cost is ridiculous and lacks so many basic features, I don't mind the S1000R but the gearing is so long and with a weak bottom end just feels dull. If the hornets what you say then honestly I'll keep my CB (I put about 10,000 miles a year on it) as my commuter and think about a CBR1000RR as a second bike. Was your 750 a first year production bike? I've never pegged Honda for a bad build quality so I'm wondering if they needed a year to get the manufacturing dialed in.
@@themechanicaladvantage yes it’s was a brand new 2023 bike when they first came out, there’s been lots of people online complaining about the same issues I had. The hornet felt like it had loads more torque than the 650r but was snatchy as hell at lower speeds and drove me nuts in heavy traffic. I’m still very happy with my decision to swap it.
I loved my old 2007 919…until someone decided to run into me on it and totaled the bike. Unfortunately the Hornet isn’t sold in the US. I would happily buy that 1000 SP.
Wow this thing is even cheaper than a MT-09 and it's a 1000cc bike. I know the build quality and general features are on the budget side, but a 1000cc class bike that undercuts a upper class middleweight is just strange. Didn't expect it to undercut other Japanese 1000cc nakes in terms of weight as well. Good job Honda
@@kaecy6I’d argue that the MT-09 still has its place with superior tech, torque rich CP3 engine and ultra-agile handling, and the MT-10 is still the better bike overall. The Z900 on the other hand, I don’t find the justification for that bike other than brand loyalty to be honest. The Hornet undercuts the price of the Kawa with more tech, a QUICK SHIFTER which the Z doesn’t have and can’t fit, slightly less weight, better componentry, and more power.
This SP has better colour scheme than MT-09 SP ! And a better price ... And more torque ! The only deterrent for me would be the weight and passenger seat ! I'll use my next bike daily and comfy passenger seat it's a MUST !
This bike is going to revolutionise the sport naked market (assuming its not dead yet) the way the yamaha tenere did for the adventure market. Amazing price for what you get, especially that SP model. Only criticism I have is that I think the 1000R model looked better but thats a tiny gripe
Finally a bike that people with normal wages can afford, I wish and hope that more manufacturers go down this road and make fun and good bikes for a more realistic price. Like why would I buy a KTM Duke 990 R for 17500€ when I can buy this for 11200€ Are you telling me that this streetbike is over 6500€ less good and less fun than a 990 Duke R ? No way =)

Filling the whole the z1000 left in the market.
Yep. Similar looks as well.
Bikes are toys (in US anyways), so the prices going up, up, up is lousy and not worth it. This is a shocker, especially from Honda of all people. Really nice! Can’t wait to see the ride reviews.
The price should sell loads of these on it's own, looks good too 👍🏻
Having seen the SP in person, the colour is actually a graphite metallic dark grey in matte finish over most of the bike but with a glossier satin finish on the tank.
It's stunning and "black" certainly doesn't describe it.
Wow. Honda is making things right once again. Totally thinking getting the SP.
Made in Taiwan 😢
I had a CB500F which was a great bike, just gutless. The Hornet SP in black and gold looks killer!
Well, it’s the bike I’ve been waiting for! I’m off to Honda tomorrow to put down a deposit and it will be for the black SP with gold wheels!
All these features on offer and at this price tag, Honda played really smart considering the economic conditions.
I suspect it's only introductory.
Wow, Honda, this will sell like crazy. 🎉 What a move! Kudos and thanks, Honda!
I am glad they left the Neo sport cafe alone. That 2nd gen of the 1000 is just beautiful to my eye. I am glad they chose to change it up. Attracting ducats lovers 7/8 of their dream bike for 1/2 price Honda❤ so smart.
I owned two Honda 919 Hornets the first and second year they brought them to the States. It was an amazing bike.
Gorgeous machine and more than enough power for the road. SP all the way.
Started my life on a Honda then switched to Yami. This bike looks the part. I realy like it. Think Honda nailed it this time. Good looking bike with good specs.
Love the SP, Bought a Z900 2 months ago and after seeing this I think next spring I might have a Honda in my garage.
This is not a disappointment not many had experience a 1000cc. This is good and practical choice for smaller amount of money compare to other 1000
That’s outrageous value for money, definitely on my shortlist when I decide to change. Nice one Honda on the price.
Now THAT is a bike, that will sell well😀
Love that SP model, also banger price. Just want to hear it now
SP is a no brainer. Amazing how Honda have put together a spec and bike at this price.
Hats off to Honda! Terrific affordable value. The looks are a great improvement in line with Ducati styling, at half the price. Fantastic! As for the 750 hornet, it needs an SP version for an already good bike, but it needs to be more premium. Hence an SP version.
A year on and 5000 miles, and I'm still loving my Transalp
Even here in Austria with NOVA the price is insane. This is gonna sell like crazy.
The SP just might be my next bike. I love it!
Wow well done Honda for releasing it and the base model looks perfect for customisation? Looks awesome in red 👍SP be great in black for 10k you have to go for the SP well explained and good video!!
The SP actually looks pretty good and I’ve never like Honda’s that much….I’d actually consider buying it!!
I used to love the neo cafe racer style headlights and styling, but oh boy. This is a cream machine for me now!
Yes siree Bob! That is a great bike that will no doubt sell well. Glad to see the the neo cafe racer look is gone along with the single sided swing arm. I could never get on with that look for some reason. The black SP has thr right amount of sinister! This will open many doors to customization.
Can’t wait for the latest Tracer 9/9GT+ for 2025. Keep these videos coming. Thanks you!
9000 is an insane deal!!! You could add brembos, ohlins, and more and still cut cost
Welcome back Honda - great to see you back to your standard setting best after a couple of bleak decades
Cheaper than latest vintage of the previous CB1000R with essentially same look and much improved specs. Killer.
Yep , and an extra 10 hp too.
Honda bring this to the USA ASAP!!!
If they do , and I mean IF.... it will be 2027 and only black - HONDA HATES NORTH AMERICA. Honda wouldn't even take some different color plastics for the cb650r and move them to the USA product line ...ITS MADE IN THE SAME FACTORY.....
If we do get it, it will be offered in one color while EU will get four.
@@kignacioshame, just get a Harley instead
@@kignacio for real. Honda and Kawasaki always drop the ball with the colors they bring to the USA. Even Canada gets better options
SP for me looks stunning and no brainer on price. Honda nailed it with this one, if your pricing is correct other manufacturers will need to rethink.
Wow, that SP has me reevaluating my next bike
All around great bike. Price is everything right now.
absolutly epic value.thinking seriously about putting in an order
Im a Honda fan and a Ducati fan. Ive happily owned both. This thing looks Streetfighter to me. Not a bad thing.
This will definitely take some market share from the MT09, Z900, and the MT10.
After owning two naked bikes, my next bike will definitely be a super sport.
After owning two super sports, my next bike will definitely be a naked...
I don't think I can live with just one or the other.
This bike is going to revolutionise the sport naked market (assuming its not dead yet) the way the yamaha tenere did for the adventure market. Amazing price for what you get, especially that SP model. Only criticism I have is that I think the 1000R model looked better but thats a tiny gripe
I have a 2024 MT09 and this is just awsome, that price, that engine those looks that are better IMO than the MT09 this is a W for Honda good job!
That SP is gorgeous and the price is insanely cheap for what you get. I'll definitely need to test one.
I like the older model, but this one is even better... And to be honest I didn't expect such a low price!
Oohhh Nice! I'll put that on my shopping list!
I have decided I will definitely upgrade from my 2023 Grom MSX125 to this 2025 CB1000SP. Can’t wait for the extra power.
Honda have nailed it wow absolute bargain 👊👌
Same with honda scooter “click” or “vario” the game changer in scooter segment
It looks great and definitely priced right!
Wow, never thought I'd consider a Honda, but I'm gonna have to give one of these a try
No way =)
They’ve cracked it with the “price”! Touché Honda! 👍🏻
That SP looks lovely… definitely worth a test ride in 2025
Really a beautiful bike, was thinking of getting the Transalp as a second bike but now I'm seriously considering this one!
I think the 1000R is a great looking bike. I had my eye on it for down the road. Sad that it won’t be there when the time comes.
The headlights are really similar to the Streetfighter when they are on. Great value and looks very good indeed.
I'm getting one of these for sure! Love it
