i think there should be some byes...a team that wins a 100 games losing 2 games and being eliminated in the 1st round seems nuts...Home field advantage does not seem like enough.
The lower seeds should have a better chance at winning next year when it is back to 5 team playoffs it should be 1 and 2 play each other wild card winner and 3 seed play each other

Luis Cervantes Thanks! That’s exactly right, so a division like the the NL West or AL East where it looks like 4 out of the 5 teams may have a shot at the playoffs. It’s definitely more unlikely this would happen simply due to the math of it but it’s definitely possible. Good question!

Then in round 2, we have MAX a 2 game series matching the teams up by the best and worst record from that first round. So for example if Rays beat Boston in round 1 and get matched with them in rd. 2, and Rays win the first game of the two game series then Boston is eliminated. See I always wonder how a world series champion would have faired against another playoff teams that lost to someone else earlier in playoffs. To truly be the best, you should beat all the playoff teams. Love to hear your thoughts if you agree or not and why it wouldn't work if you disagree.

I feel like they should have just gotten rid of the wild card round cuz like that's really scraping the barrel at that point
