Would help to show where all bolts and screws are you are required to remove.
They are not interference engines
what does it sound like if belt is put in wrong, like a cog off or something? just had one replaced and the rav does not have any power and shakes and the guy sayes something else wrong with it, ran well till belt broke and compression is 190 or so on each cylinder. i just think he got it in wrong. any thoughts on it????
it could be that the timing is off, if it's off the timing would be retarded and not running well but you may still have good compression if the valves weren't bent.thanks gor watchin ensure to like and subscribe for more tips and tricks
@@fixergood how does the belt tensioner on this rav4 work? is it a spring loaded type thing or engine oil pressure or what? i do believe i will take cover off and have to check and will probably have to slip belt one way or another but will have to loosen belt to do it. am thoroughly convinced that belt is not on rite. thanks much for help
Your Rav doesn't have ABS brakes so you have a lot more room there. Lucky.
Does it matter the position of the crankshaft when marking the belt? I mean do I have to move the crankshaft to an specific position before marking the belt?
The crank and the cam need to be in the position that's illustrated in your timing belt kit. They have the crank in this specific position to lessen the chance of valve to piston interference on accident when you change the belt. Maybe talk to a local shop before you decide to tackle it or have them do it . These jobs are easy to go the wrong way.
