So very strange. I was fitting a tank bag on my bike today and thought to myself…hmmm, have not seen anything from T. Hansen in a while. Two hours later, I sat down for dinner with my wife and there you are lol. Happy New Years to you and yours sir
Hahaha.... I just had my bike on charging the other day.. it is in winter hibernation at the moment and I have the worst creative itch you can imagine 🤣 Haha, surprise, surprise! Happy New Year to you two as well... enjoy the evening. More in 2025 🙏🏻
Always enjoying slow days in here. Hope to see you back on the screen again soon as well Jørgen 🤩👏🏻 Hope you had a great Christmas, not to much of that good food 🤣 Happy New Year
Glad you like them Vitor, I really enjoy making them, and it is so much more of who I am. I will continue my travels as well, but try to mix it every now and then. Show more of what I enjoy 🙏🏻 Cheers ☕️
Lovely video Thomas..the cabin is such great place. When you showed us the photos in your album it's a good reminder that it's nice not to only have photos in digital form..its so nice to have an actual photograph to look at! Cheers and Happy New year, Steve
I absolutely love this place, as you probably can see ☺️ Yeah, that is something I have been to sloppy with the last years. Having pictures in albums like this is such an experience. Not the same on a computer. I should take up on that again... collect, print and create more memories like that. Happy New Year Steve. See you on the other side 🤣 Cheers
Hahaha... funny you mention that. I just now realizes how incredible fragile they are and how they get in the way all the time 🤣 I should make more albums like this. Print out highlights and stick them in a physical book.
I absolutely love it. The birds is not quite used to it yet, they tend to prefer the old ones more, so I left the new feeder in the same tree as the rest for them to get used to before I move it closer again. a bigger zoom lense is on the shopping list for next year. 🙏🏻 I absolutely love wildlife photography
@@tshansen yep I spent probably 5 years doing motorcycle racing got very boring and easy.... Then went over too wildlife photography love it. But not picked up the camera in a few years 😒😒
Thank you Thomas for this video, very cool to see and understand all kinds of stuff around your cabin. This is, I feel, the best add-on on your channel in 2024. Really like it, all the best wishes for you and your family and let 2025 be another great year of film making 🥂
You are welcome Ricard. It is incredible what I end up learning from comments after videos like this also. There is so much knowledge out there than can help me out making this place even better. I really like to make these kind of videos as well, and even if it is a love and hate thing for some of my viewers I need to stay true to who I am and what spark my creative mind most. Let's make 2025 even better 🙌🏻 Say hello to the family and enjoy the New Year
Hallo Thomas. For me as an architect some nice but not really new insights into the construction of wooden houses / cabins in Norway. And the good water from tap. I have the luck to live in a small town in the very far northwestern part of Germany where we have one of the top ten freshwater sources in Germany. So it's the same here. Due to the fact that drinking water is the most and best controlled an monitored food in Germany you can drink it from tap everywhere. But there are clearly palatable differences. So I wish you and your family a happy new year. And let's hope the new motorcycle season can start as soon as possible.
I had a dream growing up about being an architect myself. But did not have sit still at school gene in me 🤣 Is that so? you have that in Germany as well? That is really interesting. It seams like this is far between when you look at the different countries in Europe. Happy New Year to you as well. I really hope we get an early start next year. Or I might need to go down south and get a fix ☺️🔥
@@tshansen Of course the Water here doesn't come from open lakes or reservoirs here in the totally flat countryside. It's pumped out of the ground by waterworks. But that also means it contains not much of those things that fall from the sky with the rain. I once learned that our water we drink here today fell down as rain some 70 to 8o years before and ran down in a gravel filled channel (formed in the ice age) over 100 km to our location. So it's filtered and contains some minerals. Happy New Year Tjommi... Cabin life is the way to live, I'm telling you. It relaxes my soul like I can't begin to describe. And you better load up that truck or bike and come visit soon! I have some special special for you and Rob here 😆
Hi TS, A Happy New Year to you. Good water is a blessing. I've had it. Much different tasting. Sweet and good. Rare. Makes good shine as well. Beautiful place. Interesting to run the water under the sea. Certainly have a moderate winter for the latitude. Just don't go too far north. Like the bird house. I have one out my view. Very therapeutic. Birds can fly. Always wondered what was up the mountain. Harness the energy. Peace and calm to you. All good from east Kentucky USA
Happy New Year to you as well Sir. 👏🏻 Good water is essential, and so easy to take for granted when you see how they pollute it in different parts of the world. It is scary. Haha, that make sense, now I understand why my grandfather was so into the water quality all the time. Shine 🙈🤣 Some childhood memories just clicked there 👏🏻 We had a lot of ideas on how we could solve this in the best possible way. And the sea is cold in summer and it is just warm enough from freezing in the winter. So we always have good temped water. The birds is probably what have given me most piece of mind in the last year. I can sit here, for hours with my coffee and just watch them go. Play with each other and help out when the Falcon is close. It really spark my interest (again) for wildlife photography. I might pursue that in the future. All the best to you, relax and have a great evening. See you on the "other" side 🤩
@tshansen yes it provides a great opportunity for photos. Birds will kind of stage up on a nearby tree before they come in. More natural that way. I do that some. Also catch them in flying action. I photographed red tail hawks yesterday flying low and high with some fighting action. Those are our general birds of prey with owls too. However we have breding psirvof eagles upstream a few miles. They cruise the river in my backyard fishing. When they are around the other birds hunker down and don't make a move. The old timers also had milestones in the creeks. I often wondered why then I figured it out. The ground the corn to make the liquor. I hope you are doing better. My Grandson has Tres condition. He 13 and does great with it. But he too has nightmares. He will scream out in fear at night. Monsters coming to get him. Mo apparent reason of late but there is a reason hidden somewhere in his mind. He goes to therapy for it. The mind is a very fragile thing. One should never be afraid to fall asleep.
I hope so too Nelio. Since I can't ride all year round I need a good place to do work and updates when the winter is worse. And what better place than this? Can't wait to get the toolshed up and running, It might serve as a garage as well 🤩 Happy New Year
Easy to use electricity as a source for heating! When you have 5,5MW Pelton turbine installed on your backyard! 😁 But seriously, hydropower for the win! 😉💪 Cool concepts, cool video!
Hahaha, you know a thing or two about Turbines I guess 🤣 Hydropower is really big here in Norway, because you get so much out of so little sometimes. Glad you liked it, cheers ☕️
Awesome video! Beautiful cabin for sure. And that view! You must have a salmon run in that fjord? It reminds me so much of SE Alaska where I worked when I was younger. Best!
Thank you. Got so many questions about this I had to address it 🤣 That is correct, not far from here, there is a famous tide stream that was rated as one of the best wild salmon areas to fish in Norway. I don't think it is that good anymore, but we still get some Salmon on rod close to the river.
Haha, content this time of year must be getting thin😁 I wonder how the stove is exhausted safely, any exhaust flue going through a wall makes me nervous...Cheers my friend and Happy New Year!
Happy new year Shayne. Well, in between projects it is always nice to make something that my core audience is asking about. Don't take too much time and nice to give something back to the ones who really are interested in my content. The stove goes into a Venti Pipe I think it's called in English. Made of Leca and a center pipe for the smoke and up over the roof in the middle of it all so you get a lot of positive draft even if the pipe is not properly heated. There are strict rules for making them and how big distance is between the firewall and pipe/oven. Cheers
I'm not so sure about that Günter. What you loose and sacrifice in the city is probably worse than the extra work that need to be done at a place like this 😜 at least for me. Happy New Year mate, see you next year as well. Cheers
