What if you pick your spouse over your child (their father/ mother)? Doesn’t really make a difference to me and definitely happens too. It happened to me, despite my father not treating my mother nicely, she always made him #1. And then talked bad about him and his behavior behind his back & in front of me. She even said it herself „The spouse needs to come first. Children come in second place“. So horrible.
Exactly it’s completely ridiculous that she sitting there acting like John the only reason they have issue with her and complaining that they won’t tell her there issues with her John. (NOT YELLING IN CAPS POINTING OUT) ITS NOT THAT THEY DO NOT TELL HER WHAT THERE ISSUES ARE ITS SHE REFUSES TO LISTEN TO THEM.
There’s a difference between trying to have a genuine relationship with your SOs children and trying to insert yourself artificially
If one person is trying and the other is clearly not then it’s always gonna feel artificial but that’s not the fault of the one who is actually trying to build a relationship. It’s always awkward to start.

I don’t understand an older gentleman being with a younger mother who has 3 kids while they are still in high school. Seems to me like the daughter love both their parents so much, the parents love their daughter so much BUT the parents don’t like eachother, the step/dads don’t like eachother, and the mom loves her new husband.
Imo no one is in the wrong, everyone just has emotions and don’t know how to solve them or work as a whole family.
The mom hasn't remarried. She has only been with the new boyfriend 7 months.

I think the girls had/have problems with their mom that happened because of the divorce, but the father has worsened the problem. I feel he really makes them pick a side.

I usually reserve my comments for things of a more higher minded nature but while I think that the mother is by no means perfect...I do believe that there's more to the story than what's being portrayed(as is the case with talk/reality TV). Something about these girls and their father doesn't sit right with me . Worst case scenario- all of them are toxic to some extent but none will admit their own contributions to.issues because they're too busy pointing the finger at the other thinking that's the remedy. Just my take though
I agree with you, I think the father is putting a lot of negative thoughts into those girls. I don’t think it’s wrong of the mother to of found new love but it’s unfortunate that anyone of them can’t accept the changes and maintain a form of healthy relationship. Mom should prioritize those girls but they could understand that she’s not alone and respect one another

Her kids wouldn’t be happy regardless. They want their mom to be unhappy and alone. If you’re a single mom you are expected to stay alone while the father goes and finds someone and it’s no big deal.
