When I saw the title, my first thought was "So most of the soundtrack?"
I wasn't wrong.
Ive said it before to others.... Replaying Robobot after beating it makes it just *scary* how much the Haltmann Company Theme has... *proliferated* , everywhere, on Pop Star. Really makes the hostile takeover and transmogrification of the planet all the more encompassing and eerie.
agreed I never realized it before just how much Haltmann co song is used. When he took over he really took over there is no part of dreamland where Haltmann's theme isn't played in some way.
But goddamn it made the music great
I'll admit I haven't played the game but have read about it, so watching the vid made me notice how the song was everywhere 0_0
Then you learn about his backstory. Perhaps the most fucked up thing I've read in a game. What the fuck is this franchise?
This is true, though theres something more important I only noticed when I went back through it afterwards. There is a 2nd motif associated with Haltmann, the one I've always called "the sad one". and it only shows up at 15:45, much later into the game, in the Haltmann Works Co. stage.
It also just generally sounds really sad in the stage music as well as the star dream soul os track... and doesn't show up in Haltmann's own actual theme at all
I remember hearing for the first time Star Dream's theme, the fact it plays so heavily with Haltmann's leitmotif, and includes Green Greens, gave the false impression this is the final boss. It's very cool how this expectation is subverted when the Star Dream ends up going for the Access Ark instead of being defeated, and when it ends up reappearing, all the main leitmotifs are gone from the battle theme, now replaced with dread.
Virtual space manipulator is kind of boring at first compared to the other two star dream themes but it kind of grows on you.

@@moyaienjoyer3037I remember thinking it was disappointing at the time but grew to appreciate the subversion matching the general weird and uneasy nature of the battle, now knowing that was kinda the point definitely changes how I view it even though it doesn’t get you “hyped” the same way the more familiar music throughout typically does
As a music major it is SO SATISFYING watching Haltmann conduct CORRECTLY
Haltmann is the owner of the company. Of course he will have time to conduct he’s own theme song.
It’s amazing how they managed to make so many versions of this song, and they sound great, too.

Thanks so much for this compilation! Robobot has been my favorite video game ever for a pretty long time, and the motif of The Noble Haltmann is one of my favorite pieces of music as a result, huge props for putting this together
Memories (I'll Never Forget You) (28:37) is always effective at making me feel emotional, ESPECIALLY its Star Allies rendition (42:25) (Fun fact, Hirokazu Ando once stated that Memories (I'll Never Forget You) is his favorite piece that he's composed)
The Kirby Cafe arrangement (48:25) is one of the few times I've ever gotten close to tearing up while listening to music, it's unbelievably beautiful; in fact, I've been listening to it while typing this paragraph, and even now, it's making me want to shed a tear
I also appreciate how this brings attention to more obscure arrangements of The Noble Haltmann, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe's rockin' rearrangement (40:03) is so enjoyable, its short length is such a tease
Something to note about the Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra (45:21), Makiko Ohmoto actually sang a verse of The Noble Haltmann herself, but her performance doesn't seem to be included as far as I can tell
Not too big of an issue though, honestly, I still very much appreciate the fact that this video was made at all! Having _52 minutes_ of The Noble Haltmann in one place makes it convenient to indulge myself in the motif, thank you so much!!

I love that the Haltmann Motif is present in the Robo Bonkers theme. I hope it shows up in more robot or mechanical enemies themes.

I love how crazy rolling in money at first just sounds like some unique melody but when you compare it to the nobele haltman it's actually just the noble haltman with the melody glitches and chooped up

This is by far one of my favorite games in the series, as it’s the one that made me a Kirby fan to begin with, as it was also the first Kirby game I 100% completed. I love this game so much.

I like the way you combined the boss theme with a little boss showcase. Gives a little incentive to watching instead of just listening.
The soundtrack used this leitmotif a bunch and I'm not complaining! It's catchy!
My favorite (if I can even pick just one) is probably VS The Wicked Company, since the use of trumpets and that female vocal really make it intense and hype. Robobot has some fun bosses to accompany the music too.

When I beat Planet Robobot and played it again, the realization that half of the soundtrack had the leitmotif of “The Noble Haltmann” kinda struck fear in me.

The editing on this video is fantastic, I especially appreciate the concept art showcase starting at 38 mins, you could have just left it a blank screen since the main subject of the video is the music, but you didn't and that's awesome.
I wonder what else the future holds for this theme? Probably in Kirby and the Secret Star Warrior, Kirby's Royal Escape, or Kirby's Big Top Surprise.

Nah, I'm only joking. But all that said, there is one notable omission from this list, and I'm not talking about further arrangements of Star Dream's boss themes since those will likely be saved for their own video. You see, during the Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert, Makiko Ohmoto did a small drama of sorts wherein Queen Sectonia and Susie had a conversation, and at the tail end of that bit, she sung a rendition of The Noble Haltmann! The whole concert's up on TH-cam as of writing (though I'm not sure HOW long it'll be up), so feel free to check it out!

Something I personally like about this theme is that it's kinda the most understated when used for Haltmann in person?
Because it's not *his* theme - it's the theme of the *idea* of him, the image he imposes on the planets he conquers, the worship of his countless robotic servants, and Susie's continued efforts to get *something* out of him.
Or at least, that's how I see it, kinda.

Man the Haltmann Works theme has to be one of my most favorite motifs in Kirby so far! It's both catchy and ominous! I didn't realize how much it was used in Planet Robobot either.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land leitmotifs is also used very often almost throughout the game (including 'Scattered Souls across Isolated Isles') with the two main themes being 'Welcome to the New World' and 'Running Through the New World'. I love how Kirby games have been using their 'leitmotifs' as the basic arrangements as the story progresses, since Kirby's Epic Yarn
