  • This is the all-new 2016 Jaguar XF R Sport which will take on the likes of BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Our test car is the Jaguar XF R Sport 180 which is powered by a 2.0 litre diesel ingenium engine producing 178BHP. An 8 speed ZF automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels.
    Can this 190KG lighter 2016 Jaguar XF take on the best of this luxury car segment?

    I have this exact car, colour, trim & engine. I love it. It is a total pleasure to drive on a daily basis and always has the fun factor on the twists and turns of the country roads. By far THE BEST car I have owned!!!

    Am a huge jaguar fan, love the frontal and side design...though there's a little something off about the rear tailight design, i find it a little overly stretched to either sides. Work on that, and it'll be just perfect!!

    Nice review. I'm considering buying a XF with same 2.0 diesel engine in Portfolio trim, maybe with optional sport suspension. Isn't the ride too harsh with the lowered sport suspension and/or did you had the chance to compare it with the standard suspension? BTW I'll be replacing my 2011 Saab 9-5... Rgds from Flanders

      +psychomat64 Hello! When it comes to the suspension it all depends what you value most. Personally I don't think the sport suspension is too hard, but obviously it depends on what the roads are like where you live and what alloy wheels you option. If you value the ride more than maybe it would be better to go for the softer setup.

      +Inside Lane I'll have 19 inch wheels. Best is to testdrive both suspensions with these type of rims I guess..

      They are really good and look great, but at £1,225 they are a costly option.

      +Inside Lane over £1k ..! Wow. Hopefully that's something the dealer could "throw in". Jag dealers are very good at getting you a good deal..!

    • @insidelane

      +Joshua L Jaguar like BMW, Mercedes, or Audi, have an options list that can easily double the price of the car.

      Inside Lane very true. I'v speced up a 2.0D XF on jaguars website to nearly £50k, without all the options on there. That said when my dad brought his XF Jaguar gave it to him for less than the list price AFTER interest on his payments. Pretty good deal if you ask me..!

    Hi @Inside Lane , I am looking forward to buy a car in this XF price range . And I wonder if you could give me some recommendations on which brand to pick , Jaguar , BMW , Mercedes , or any other cars that is about this XF price . My top and only priority would be the interior comfort , I would like both me and my passengers to have the most comfortable and luxury experience during the drive , with this amount of money lol . Thanks a lot. I like British brands because my friend used to have a Range Rover , and I love the luxury leather feeling of it . However I know too little about cars to judge lol .

      The Jaguar XF is great, but its prime focus is the driving experience. I think it might be worth waiting a little bit for the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class that will make its debut next week.

    Love this car!! Autogefühl did a review where they criticized the quality of the leather on the seats. In your video they do looked pretty rumpled and worn. Thoughts?

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +negvar It's more the lighting that made it look that way. Personally I thought the leather was fine on the car.

    • @twintron

      I have just received a 2017 Model and the leather in the back isnt particuarly good to be honest. It's all lumpy and worse than my mk1 and 2.

      +Rat Camp How?

    • @ratcamp
      @ratcamp 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Inside Lane Im talking about the design of the exterior not the interior. The whole shape of this car is basically a knock off of the bmws 5 series specifically the m5. I see it right away if you don't see the extreme similarities I don't know that to say. I know you know what an M5 is but just go look at some pics of the car again on google images or something and It's just so obvious. Bmw had that overall design and shape before jaguar. Im not talking about the grill or the jag of the exact way the talk lights are. Im talking about the actual exterior shape of the body its so m5 wannabe. I'm not talking shit cause this jaguar is so sexy but thats cause its using the m5 shape and putting its own jaguar touches on it. Thats my opinion anyways.

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rat Camp To be honest most cars are becoming a similar shape due to aerodynamics and safety. The hatchback segment is a very good example. I do see what you mean though.

    • @ratcamp
      @ratcamp 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Inside Lane But I actually find that aesthetically the 2016 Jaguar XF S is nicer then the M5. Anyways Take care and great reviews.
