I live in East Texas, and the roof buildup, moss, black gorp, etc. is a thing. The stuff will eat roofs, especially since most roofs are asphalt. It really helps to get the roof cleaned off at least every other year. same for siding.

Why would it leak? They are concrete tiles. He is spraying water onto the roof no different to it raining most days in UK.
