    Thank you for sharing awesome tutorial. I'm Korean and just started to learn Autocad and even if I 'm not familiar with English, your tutorial is way better and way easier than Korean tutorials. You are saying really easy, and understandable with actually showing what does how. Thank you so much.

    I must say, your tutorials are better than the books. I’m learning AutoCad and SolidWorks because I’m becoming an electrical engineer and your videos are of a very good source. Keep up the good work. I’ve subscribed since the first day I watched the first video and ever since I’ve give a thumbs up 👍

    Just to clarify the terminology - this is not a turbine, but a fan.
    The fan or rather propeller converts mechanical energy into fluid energy and creates movement from the reaction force. The turbine instead converts fluid enegy into work, as in turning the rotor in a hydro electric plant.
    The turbine in a jet engine sits at the end of the common shaft and is put in motion by the expelled gases, thus turning the fan in the front of the engine, which acts both as a first stage compressor and propeller, maximising efficiency.

    Hi, SourceCAD, I'm an aviation mechanic, and I just want to take a couple of line to correct your video title. Your title says that you are making a jet engine with a propeller but what you have drawn was a jet engine with a fan or simply a turbofan. And I think the distinction between the two is important. A turbofan has a lot of thin blades incased in an engine cowling (nacelle) whereas a turboprop has a few thick blade outside of the nacelle.

    • @sourcecad
      @sourcecad  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for explaining this Bryan it is really nice of you to spare your time for pointing out the correction. But as you can see here I have oversimplified the model to explain the 3D tools and the "propeller" word is probably more recognizable among the masses when compared with turbofan so it's used here, hope you will get my point :)

  • @andycruzatx3387
    @andycruzatx3387 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hello i am a first year mech engineering major and would like to know a few things about autocad , can you make a electric motor run by simulating input voltage, a engine run with fuel input assuming both components were virtually assembled correctly, thanks and if autocad cant do some of these things could you recommend a 3d software that could.

    • @sourcecad
      @sourcecad  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andy Cruz Hi Andy, thanks for your interest in my videos, unfortunately I may not be able to help you in this regard as I am AutoCAD user and not well versed in other engineering tools and certainly AutoCAD cant create simulation which you need. MAYA can be used to create that kind of simulation but it might seem like an overkill if you are looking for simple animation.

      This may be due to hardware acceleration being disabled. Type 3DCONFIG on command line and press enter then turn on hardware acceleration. Your hardware needs to support open GL to make hardware acceleration work. Let me know if this solves your issue.

    drawing 3d in acad is a waste of time, much better and more useful software out there like Catia

      DANNY40379 AutoCAD and CATIA are completely different software's, AutoCAD being a non parametric one can be used very efficiently for 2D drawings and simple 3D drawings but CATIA is specifically good for parametric designing and making big 3D surface or assembly designs which cant be made with AutoCAD. Also there is a huge cost difference between the two software's so I believe a user who needs to use simple 3D drawing will not opt for CATIA because of this cost factor. Hope I made myself clear!

      SourceCAD Catia/Solidworks for professional use. Sketchup/Blender for fun. Acad for 2D.

      +SourceCAD What about Autodesk Inventor then ?? Isn't it good as parametric part modelling tool

      +Amit rai Industry standard is Catia (auto and aeronautical), Solidworks for everything else 3D, Acad for 2D (construction). Choose your industry and learn your tool.
