    Just got my Ditch Life ATV and it's a hoot! It's what I like about my Dinghy Classic but more stable!! My #1 favorite is still my Drop Carve, I can push 20+ miles and have a great time bombing paths with confidence because of how low it is, versus a top-mount like the Ditch Life and Dinghys.

    My second ever board (after a cheap amazon drop through) was the Stratus 46 spectrum since I knew I wanted to do dancing. It's an absolute blast and my favorite purchase of last year hands down. Every day I can I go out and practice around 2 hours! I've transitioned into freestyle too so I'm eyeing the Tony Danza for that shorter, lighter setup.

    My all time fave Landyachtz is my 38" Drop Cat from the first year of Drop Cat production. It feels more agile, capable of tighter turns, than the 38" Drop Cat from last year (I guess that's down to the 2 degree difference in truck angle?). I also have (and love) last year's 33" with the Vibes graphic. It rides almost exactly the same as my older 38", I just pick the one that best matches whatever shoes I'm wearing :P
    In any case, the Drop Cat is a lovely board, I would recommend the current 33" Drop Cat to just about anybody looking for something fast and stable, good for commuting, and generally just a joy to ride. Also Landyachtz completes are so good, just buy a complete board.

      Not realizing was a thing, and slowly inching towards what I'm actually looking for/what works best for me, has been my whole journey so far. First, it was, like, "I want to skateboard", then it was, "I probably just need a cruiser, actually", then, "A longboard is kind of awesome". At this point, "I should have a cruiser and a longboard, and practice with both" is where I've settled.
      I wonder where I'll find myself next month...

    Easiest cruz for me is the low riding Switch. I have plenty of other boards but The Switch 40 from landyachtz has always been my favorite daily commute. Honorable mention to the landshark

    First ever deck I had I got for my 11th birthday and it was a dingy with that sick owl graphic, that was almost 6 years ago and I have fallen in love with downhill and freestyle. Just retired my old Sector 9 and started using a Santa Cruz that I have but I've been eyeballing the landyachtz switchblade for a while. Anyone have feedback on the switchblade? Is it a good board?

      @Draxzy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JedEdmondson good looks. I’ve been looking into the drop cat because I don’t have crazy steep hills and I feel the like the cat would still be nimble but obviously handle hills way better than the dinghy. Honestly I’ve got an addiction of buying boards at this point so I’ll just get them both eventually lmao. Definitely will look into the evo

    • @maxthrust976
      @maxthrust976 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Drop Cat is so good, I don't think you'll be disappointed if that's what you pick. I like the feel of the 33" over the 38" myself, the 38" is maybe a little too stable and not so turny. If you're very very tall then maybe the 38" is the better choice just to give you the larger standing platform. Personally I wouldn't pick the Evo unless you're actually planning on going blisteringly fast down crazy hills, although even if that's your plan, there are other boards that can do that and more these days. The Evo is very heavy and not a great cruiser. Using it to get around town is like taking an F1 car to the grocery store, it's out of it's element and will struggle with curbs and driveways. It's so dedicated to being fast and stable downhill that it's not very good at doing anything else.

    • @mashedt8rs290
      @mashedt8rs290 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Draxzy Don't get the drop cat if you are planning to downhill. The drop cats are very bouncy boards, they will still handle very mild downhill but I don't recommend taking it past 20mph. It a phenomenal board for just about everything else though, I love the feeling of it under my feet!

    • @mashedt8rs290
      @mashedt8rs290 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@maxthrust976 The Evo most definitely can do everything else and would be great for commuting longer distances. The wheel base is a bit longer than a normal board so commuting in crowded streets or narrow sidewalks won't be as good as another board but still a great board overall.

      For a first longboard check out our drop boards. Drop Cat 37, Top Cat, Drop Hammer, Battle Axe. All great for learning to push and carve, very stable. If they want a kicktail check out some of our Cruisers or ATV boards. Skiff, Raft, Perfecto, DitchLife, Dinghy Blunt. All are good options for a first board

    • @Landyachtz
      @Landyachtz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Big Dipper is an incredibly fun board! Great for carving and offers nice stability. It's one of the longest boards we make so it's not always ideal for commuting due to it's size (getting through crowds, carrying on the bus/in class). That being said, anything over 35 inches will be fine @@1977fala

      Most of the boards we make are great for commuting! If it's a far distance than something low to the ground will make pushing more comfortable, like the Top Cat, Drop Cat, Switchblade, or Drop Hammer. If you think you'll need a kicktail go for something like the Skiff, Dinghy blunt, Tugboat, Perfecto, Dinghy classic fender. We have a whole section on our site - landyachtz.com/cat/commute/

    I love Landyachts let me say for starts, as expected y’all lead innovation, and quality boards. This comment is a little if not entirely corrective in pointing out a video like this highlights experience shredding. So much so it’s seductive and misleading. Maybe even dangerous to beginners, like whom you’re educating here. Tragic reality we know and seen firsthand that is unsettling and never escapes you. Riding discipline types vary and take months to years of solid dedication. Assuming the target audience doesn’t know basics, at least throw in some advisory jive. Simmer on that. Observation less safety in the community. Not good.
