I have chronic illness and chronic pain and I have so many days where I can't do what I want to do but like you, I keep reaching for those days when I can and I'm glad you're feeling better and I'm glad that you got this sponsorship!
The bed jacket with the blue camisole underneath was a fabulous proof of concept for the regency dress! And when you're making a mammoth project it's always worth taking the time to make sure it's going to turn out just how you want it. Also LOVED the knitting machine carriage transitions!
This might sound a bit weird, but this video reminds me of my grandfather. He was a machinist way back in WWII (I am An Old, by the way) and he could spend hours and days looking at the results of just about any piece of mechanical machinery and seeing what was working incorrectly, making adjustments as he went. It's a type of problem-solving that I did not inherit from him, but it's so impressive to watch. I love that you looked at what you were getting and pivoted your project to fit with it, and learned a ton about your machine and the process along the way!
First first you didn't fail anything you learned what to do to get your knitting machine working the way you wanted it to. Second that is a beautiful lace pattern. Third the bed jacket is absolutely gorgeous. Every time you use the machine I think I want one. I didn't realize that you could do lace on them . I hope you are feeling better. I really appreciate and learn so much from your videos.
Wow…..I’m a traditional lace knitter and I’m blown away with how good the lace coming off the machine looks! Well done for sticking with it. It’s beautiful!
Absolutely adorable! And absolutely no apology necessary. Someone who doesn't feel well shouldn't have to worry about such things as posting videos or completing promised projects. All you need to do is get better.
I hope you’re better soon! Good idea to use a smaller project to get the machine working like it should. And a clever and adorable solution to being too chilled. ♥️ Suggestion: If the lace panel still isn’t wide enough, divide the widths of the lace in thirds (compared to the fabric), so any seams aren’t down the center front.
It's so cool seeing you work through the problem solving process with your knitting machine! I really appreciate you sharing all the parts of a project with us and not just the Instagram-perfect parts
I don't have a knitting machine and probably never will, but I really enjoy watching you learn and troubleshoot with yours! Also, I feel you on the bad health brain fog. There's a shirt I've been making for a while where I had to rip the sleeves off 5 times because I kept having migraine brain. And granted, I'm trying to adapt a garment to a vastly different body than the ones it was designed for (and that's affected the sleeves) but still. 5 times is infuriating!
If only all project detours resulted in such a beautiful outcome! The bed jacket is lovely, & you're sure to get lots of wear out of that while you psych yourself up to tackle the Regency dress. Hope you have good health for the rest of the summer, & I look forward to the upcoming lace videos! Also, I really enjoy your technical analysis of the project & any mistakes you have to solve, so I love experiencing the whole journey with you. Take care! Best wishes from Czechia!
I love the transition where you use the carriage to make the text appear and then cut to the next section of the video! It really works with your machine knitting videos!
I really like the lace pattern and the bed jacket! I don't mind that you didn't made the dress immediately! This way we can go along with you on the journey kinda. :D
The regency dress is not failed, just delayed a bit. Making a bed jacket (aka summer sweater) was a beautiful result of your troubleshooting the knitting machine, and I'm here for it. It turned out GORGEOUS and your scene transitions were perfection. Cheers!
Ugh, migraines SUCK. And I always seem to get one when I'm otherwise not feeling well - stress, dehydration, and hormonal changes trigger a lot of my migraines. Anyways, I hope that you are feeling better/ on the way to figuring out your health/ finding some rest and ease. (I hate when people tell you to feel better or get better soon, but you have a chronic illness and you can't get better.) I absolutely love the lace jacket!
Sending sympathy from a fellow migraineur and spoonie. I hope you are feeling better. I would love to have a knitting machine one day. However, I'm not sure how often I'd use it. I like how portable a handknit project can be. I (and my Aussie) also noticed a lack of Nutella. I do hope she's well. ❤🐾
I absolutely adore your knitting machine carriage transitions, I was thinking that the whole way through the video. I love what you ended up making and I'm so tempted to try and crochet bigger lace things now...
For some reason I did not register that it was you making this video. I saw the thumbnail, I read the name. None of it rang a bell for some reason despite me watching so many of your videos and being subscribed and I was like "wow, this reminds me of that on person... what was her name?" And then I clicked on it and when you started talking I went... "oh... Right. That makes sense." Hahahahaha
You have been sick for a yearn now you are starting to look good , I hope you are doing good , the bed jacket is gorgeous !! Love the pattern !! Hope you feel better !!
Ok watched it all and as usual am blown away by your expertise and determination. Love the finish!! Just beautiful! Sure hope you are getting the rest you need to recover. Wishing you restored health!! ❤❤
I'm so glad you're feeling better! This project came out so nice, lace knitting is just so gorgeous!! Also, really loved the editing on this one, the text appearing when you moved the carriage was so cute :-)
Wow. You made such a gorgeous lace jacket and a lot of hard work went into it as well. Then I see you chopping strawberries wearing it. Yikes. I know I would have got a stain but glad you didn't 😄
It's good to see you feeling better. I hope the improvement continues - seems you've had a very difficult time this year and hopefully, things will improve. Best wishes.
This is spectacular! I love how you show the entire process- even if it veers off into another process in between. It gives me such an appreciation for all the machine knitting, there is a lot of work in it! Also the lace pattern you chose is lovely. I hope that you don’t get migraines often, they are truly awful. If you do though, and are working with a neurologist, don’t give up! It took me 2-3 years to find the combination of meds + lifestyle that helped with mine.
I really love how you go over the different parts of the process, it's really awesome to see how things can go wrong and how you can do to troubleshoot and solve them! Also, using the machine for video transitions was really cute ❤
I have bad health and it frequently stops my ability to think and perform the required tasks to participate in my hobbies. It is very frustrating. I am glad you have found a way to still hobby when your Brain is tired
The jacket turned out beautifully. I think that suggests the dress will be worth the effort. These knitting machines are quite fascinating to learn about, and I enjoyed the carriage transitions. I'm glad you are starting to feel better, and I hope that trend continues. Take care.
Beautiful!! And an excellent project to help you iron out all the intricacies of your knitting machine - the regency dress will now flow off the needles since you've done the jacket 😊
I never thought of those boxes as an 'I feel like poo but still have motivation' stop gaps before. That's a great idea! Chronic illness sucks I know that feeling well. Also that second knitting swatch - SO MANY WEIGHTS! That's the thing about knitting machines that scares me XD weight placement is daunting.
I'm so sorry you've been feeling unwell and sick so much... wishing you a wave of better health. I've also noticed you maybe hurt your hand while figuring out the machine issues? Take it easy... I love hearing about you figuring out the issues though. And when I saw the blocked lace, I almost audibly gasped. it's so beautiful and delicate! The final garment is totally cute and elegant at the same time.
I had trouble with fine yarns in one of my knitting machine. You need a fine bar, it’s a bit of plastic that goes in the gateposts to reduce the yarn getting caught.
Could you add magnets to the weight bar at the bottom to add weights evenly along the bottom of the lace but without pulling on the lace that will be visible in your garment when it is finished?
Sending sympathy hugs for the health woes. Migraine brain fog is unreal. There were times in your narration where I could swear it was me talking. You have to experience it to understand the drain that long term pain takes on you. Trying to explain to me colleagues seems impossible. It’s not necessarily that my personal migraines are especially severe, I’m not head down in the bath seeing stars vomiting all the time for example. It’s just they are bad enough they provide continual distraction from actual thoughts, prevent sleep, and last long enough ( generally a few weeks but the record is three months) that it’s almost impossible to medicate for them with pain relief. And that’s with drugs for migraine suppression and prophylaxis. And it’s not just a headache, it’s all the other symptoms too. Whatever you are going through, it’s tough. They’ll always be some toad coming along telling you they have it worse. Well done for managing to turn something decent out of this tough time, both learning and creating. It’s helpful to feel like we’ve got somewhere while we are being kicked down by our betraying bodies. You can look at it and say that you achieved it and be pleased, even if it’s one row of stitches. Enjoying the process is everything.
Thank you so much.. I have never used the lace carriage on my Brother ( shame on me). Also, I have some bent pegs I could try to put right. I need some of your patience ❤
That lace is gorgeous omg ❤. I lost most of my July to a nasty sinus infection that was trying its damnedest to become neumonia (thankfully it didn't succeed!). Im sorry to hear that you've also been so unwell 🤕🤒. As much as im intrigued by and looking forward to the regency dress project i also really enjoyed this little detour. Good luck with your knitting 🍀
I was JUST thinking "I would not likely purchase a subscription because I like 100% wool yarn and subscriptions are often blends" when you pulled out that beautiful wool yarn! Will have to look into this one.
Just take care of yourself! The bed jacket is lovely and you'll have a lot of use for that in your wardrobe. ,I like your blocking board too. Where did you find it? Thanks for all you do!

Lace is like knit poetry.

The bed jacket is absolutely beautiful, so pretty. You are so patient with the knitting machine. Hope you feel better soon.
Well there's a sentence you don't hear every day! "My gate pegs were bent." I love your engineering brain!
Absolutely adorable! And absolutely no apology necessary. Someone who doesn't feel well shouldn't have to worry about such things as posting videos or completing promised projects. All you need to do is get better.
OMG I NEED a pattern to hand knit this jacket because 😍 i love it!
I hope you’re better soon!

Suggestion: If the lace panel still isn’t wide enough, divide the widths of the lace in thirds (compared to the fabric), so any seams aren’t down the center front.
Lemonade! I love that you turned having to play with, test and fix your machine into a beautiful project.
The bed jacket is absolutely gorgeous

This is a wonderful example of making lemonade from lemons!! Big congratulations!!! I admire your extensive skills.
2:40 that knitting machine transition was perfection!!!😮👏👏👏👏 *so* cool!
I really like the lace pattern and the bed jacket!
I don't mind that you didn't made the dress immediately! This way we can go along with you on the journey kinda. :D
The videography this time around was really outstanding! I love the jacket!
The regency dress is not failed, just delayed a bit. Making a bed jacket (aka summer sweater) was a beautiful result of your troubleshooting the knitting machine, and I'm here for it. It turned out GORGEOUS and your scene transitions were perfection. Cheers!
I'm here for whatever you have the time to make. I like to have a cup of tea while I watch your content. 😊
You are SO much more patient than I.❤
Beautiful lace, and I love the transition using the knitting machine swipe. So fun!
New place? Where's Nutella?😊
Lovely bed jacket. So now to figure out the lace pattern. I can't wait to see it

This is so pretty! Loose, lacy sweaters are so perfect for the summertime. I'm glad you had enough better days to make such a cute jacket for yourself
I've recently purchased an 8 push button machine and I'm also specifically trying lace. Ran into identical problems so this Really helped!!!!
Omg, that bed jacket is so beautiful! I need to make one of those. So sorry to hear that you've been unwell. Hope you feel better soon.
Hope you feel better real soon love the bed jacket
Wow. You made such a gorgeous lace jacket and a lot of hard work went into it as well. Then I see you chopping strawberries wearing it. Yikes. I know I would have got a stain but glad you didn't 😄

I have bad health and it frequently stops my ability to think and perform the required tasks to participate in my hobbies. It is very frustrating. I am glad you have found a way to still hobby when your Brain is tired

Very entertaining thank you and what an absolutely gorgeous bed jacket ❤️

This video is great! And good lead up to the dress video!
Really enjoyed this!
So pretty! Love the bed jacket. Hope your getting better. No one will hold illness against you, or at least nice people will understand!
Lovely!!!
Was that pie at the end the strawberry tart that Max Miller made on Tasting History?
Very pretty 😀

I love your creation! It is so beautiful!
