@@damarithomas7168 It wasn't even that they let him go so much as they were so disinterested as to not even ask for him to be included. Truly bizarre because they could have flipped him too if they didn't want him (perhaps via sign and trade) instead of receiving absolutely nothing.
The Rockets are probably the ones who benefited the most. They got 7 years of playoff baksetball, a near finals run, and then all the Nets picks for the next 8 years when the Nets despite their recent improvement are still close to an (accelerated) rebuild. The Cavs also won here getting Allen and indirectly Caris LeVert.
Cavs getting Jarrett Allen (All-Star) and Caris Levert (Solid 6th/5th man) for an old George Hill and what may end up being a mid 20s draft pick is one of the best valued traded ever
This man speaks truth and facts, but boy he's like a '45 impala with how far his head leans back. There must be some bubblegum stuck on the ceiling that he keeps looking at.
I really enjoy the trade breakdowns. With so many moving pieces it is really interesting to see where everything ends up. Thanks for the breakdown. I’ll watch these videos as long as they keep coming.
Also, the 2023 1st the Rockets got from the Bucks, was traded as a swap with the Clippers as part of the Eric Gordon trade. So basically, the Rockets moved up about 12 spots in the 2023 draft....they had the 30th pick (from MIL), and they will swap it with the Clippers pick, which is currently at 18. I thought it was an underrated move by GM Rafael Stone.
I remember watching Jarrett Allen for the Nets. I always said he would be an all-star level shot blocker some day, and I was right. Claxton is headed in the direction too
Always saw his potential since college. Gave Will Wade’s teams fits every time they played Georgia, and it’s a shame Crean couldn’t get more out of the guys around him and Ant

you should look into the 76ers mikal brides trade, i looked into the trade to see what philly got and didnt know they got a pick used in the tobias harris trade, kinda interesting
i still remember this one. traded down to get that miami pick and zhaire smith which played like 5 minutes his whole career lol. absolute disaster for philly.
It’s okay y’all will make it up by the fact you’re making the play in with an average age of 22 and like 17 first round picks still in the next 6-7 drafts.
@@bdelijelly as someone who always drafted him when I could in 2k21 and 22, I really hope Chet is gonna be something special in the league. I’ve dedicated way too many 2k rebuilds around him for him to flop 🥲.

I honestly wouldn’t even mind one little bit if they are considered a dynasty down the road.
As a massive OKC fan back in the day, that harden trade will never not be painful. The ownership back then are cheap and didn't wanna pay luxury tax, which cost them what could've been a dynasty. There's no shame in losing to a superteam, and the guy got FINALS experience very early. Take the L and move on, let him improve on those mistakes.
A whole breakdown of the crazy 2013 clippers cavs trade that became the Kyrie pick and how that affected nba history. So that initial trade kyries trade from Cleveland how in a roundabout way that helped the, eventually land donavon Mitchell.
Okc traded Denver’s 2023 1st to New York for Ousmane Dieng. New York then traded it to Charlotte in the salary dump 3 team trade with Detroit where Jalen Duren and New York has cap space to sign Jalen Brunson
other than the houston-okc trade, he purposely tanked his value and forced the hand of the teams to trade him to the teams he wanted with little to no leverage otherwise cuz he burned bridges with the whole roster
“Rockets lost the trade” The rockets got Tari Eason and a couple firsts who very well could be top 10 picks in the draft PLUS could resign harden during the summer I don’t think the rockets lost anything
The cavs sneaking in and stealing Jarret allen will always boggle my mind
Still don't understand what Houston was thinking
I'd rather have Jarrett Allen than James harden
@@damarithomas7168 In general, why not keep LeVert as well even if they had no plan for him he was the younger and more flip-able asset.
@@phightinphil25 that makes sense too but atleast they got oladipo for levert. They just let Allen go

Exactly. They're valuing quality over quantity at this stage of the rebuild.
I remember watching Jarrett Allen for the Nets. I always said he would be an all-star level shot blocker some day, and I was right. Claxton is headed in the direction too
The thing is Claxton could be better since he be a ayton mirror if he keeps evolving

Claxton will probably be better.
Claxton has a higher ceiling then Allen

If Steven Adams didn’t become a solid starter, man that OKC trade would be an all time bad trade (if it’s not already).
What's happened to the Harden part himself is...
On a play-off series basis, he's 500. Heads or tails.
In a few years the Kyrie Irving trades will be interesting to look back at

You should do the melo to Knicks trade, they traded almost their entire starting 5
Outta all teams, the Nets and Rockets have the worst end results
Mikal trade Lowkey like the garden trade , a underrated player with harden and mikal, and a core that isn’t a really core player in ibaka and Ayton
You forget Cleveland essentially gave us KPJ for nothing bc of the Allen trade
