I think eventually the Haliburton-Sabonis trade will end up on a list like this, people just aren’t quite willing to admit yet that the trade was a win-win and that the Kings didn’t get fleeced🤷🏻♂️.
It wasn't a win-win indiana got fleeced, sabonis led them to 3 seed and first playoff appearance in 16 years, indiana's horrible with haliburton, indiana got fleeced hard
DeMarcus Cousins was good with the Pelicans. Pelicans swept Portland in the first round that year. Cousins tore his achilles. The Pelicans offered him a 2yr-40mil deal that was basically a 40mil for 1yr because 1yr would be rehabilitation. He turned it down. He hasn't made 10mil since then. The worst decision of his career.
Yeah really is an awful decision if you think about it. 2 years is a short contract if he performed better he could earn a better one fast and 40mil is no low ball offer considering what he took from the warriors

When the Knicks traded porzingis, I thought it was an all time low for the team. But now, looking back, porzingis probably never would have been viewed as highly by that point in his career if he wasn't the only good player on a huge market team. And trading a guy who's 7'3 and had barely played for like 2 years because of constant lower body injuries, rather than giving him a rookie max extension, was actually one if the smartest moves the Knicks have made. Even tho I think they made that smart move almost accidentally because their whole reason for doing it was to clear out cap space in their half assed pipe dream attempt to sign kyrie and kd. But hey it worked out well for us

They didn’t do it accidentally and it was not about the cap space really. Porzingis wanted out and his brother was talking crazy in the media. The Knicks had no choice they did what was necessary
A trade I was wrong about was the Dallas Mavericks acquiring Christian Wood from the Rockets. I thought that when they got Wood, Doncic and Wood would be an incredible offensive duo, that with steps up from both Doncic and Wood, would be a top 3-4 team in the west, possibly leading to Luka winning MVP
That’s Jason kidds fault. He doesn’t hardly use wood for anything I’m not saying top 3-4 team but wood is for sure better than what he looks like right now IMO.
it could've been as seen in the beginning of the season when wood was playing 25-30 mins a night and was averaging about 23 and 9 with 1.5 blocks but then he got a minor injury and lost the trust of jason kidd for some reason. had he been used enough and properly, it would've definitely worked but our franchise sucks
@@austinidkneededtomakeanewa6303 How does Kidd keep getting coaching jobs? I know he is something of a hero in Dallas but this should definitely be his last gig.
The Thunder easily won the trade for Paul George. Oladipo had a lot of injuries and would've had no value in a few years if they had kept him. Sabonis never really ended up doing much for the Pacers. The Thunder flipped Paul George to the Clippers for so many picks and SGA. Paul George also helped Westbrook get to the playoffs and helped get him his MVP season. That one move for Paul George was a smashing success. SGA is a huge part of the Thunder's young core right now.
I'm a cavs fan and I was unsure about the Donovan Mitchell trade at first. Then during the season thought it may have been a good trade, but now I'm starting to wonder if it was worth it again. You can't tell me that the cavs wouldn't have had a similar level of success if they kept the same roster as the 2022 season. Sexton wanted too much money, so you can still trade him but trade him for Malik Monk or someone else instead. Now we're locked into a tiny backcourt and a frontcourt that has no shooting. The team's construction is becoming questionable and the only way I see it getting fixed is by moving Jarrett unless you can somehow get a good wing in free agency.

Speaking of a Sabonis trade, my favorite trade everyone got wrong was when Kings pulled a “malpractice” and traded Haliburton, and immediately would snap their playoff drought 🙃
The Sabonis trade itself in a vacuum wasn't what helped snap that drought. If the Kings didn't make a run for Kevin Huerter, the spacing would not look as dynamic and there wouldn't be a moving shooter to take advantage of Sabonis' passing.
There was an outcry over Memphis trading Pau to the Lakers for "nothing", but it turned out Pau's brother was pretty damn good. I also remember everyone thinking the Magic were stupid for trading Webber for Penny on draft day, despite those 3 additional firsts that came their way.
The Win-Win for that trade wasn't realized for the Grizz until years later. Kobe needed talent around him to ring chase so that is why it was obvious the Lakers win out. Grizz finally got an infusion of key talent beyond the Hasheem Thabeet cursed draft and they would have their foundational front court for years to come.
Nearly everyone was wrong about the Westbrook to the Lakers trade. Some people thought they'd go to the finals and it was a superteam. When in reality the Lakers ruined their own cap space and lost all their depth trading away Kuzma, KCP, and Harrell
A Kings insider named James Ham has a podcast called the Kings Beat Podcast. He has some very interesting details about the Cousins trade. Remember after the trade the Kings GM Vlade said he had a "better trade" package for Cousin and everyone was stunned that he didn't take that trade offer. Apparently James Ham said the Kings were suppose to get one more first round pick from the Pelicans. But when Cousin's and his Agent found out about the trade they didn't like it because they wanted to stay in Sacramento to get that huge contract extension. Cousin's didn't want to go to the Pelican's because he knew they wouldn't get that much money if he resigned with them (I think this was the main reason). So Cousin's agent called the Pelican's and told them that Cousin's did not want to be in New Orleans. When the Pelicans heard this they called the Kings back and somehow were able to make a deal but with one less first round draft pick. So the Kings were suppose to get 2 first round picks instead of 1 fist round pick before Cousin's team interfered. I can't remember if James Ham told this story on his podcast or on the D-Lo and KC show on ESPN Sacramento 1320. (I'm trying to find the video when he said this)

Everyone, including you on this channel, called it a horrible trade and it was a win-win, or even a King's win because they made it to the 3rd seed in the playoffs, broke their 16 year drought, and Fox became an All-star with Sabonis, who had his best season in his whole career. Yeah....the Kings proved everyone wrong, including you, Tucker.
Anyone that saw Sabonis' dad play in the 90s (or 80s) knew he would have the skills.
Couldn't predict the cousins trade failure, cousins just got fucked and nobody could know how prone he was to injuries because he wasn't before
Being a avid lakers hater in my youth I knew the Howard trade wouldn’t work lol
Kawhi and PG to the Clippers, i thought they would be 100% a Finals or WCF team every year
That lakers team was lit on 2k tho
Im a rockets fan I didn't think CP3 was done. He had one bad year. Rockets were trying to ISO him forever on a bum hammy. Rockets offense failed him..
I thought Simmons would do good in Brooklyn, but...
The porzingis dinwiddie trade should be in this video
AD and Cousing were way too fun of a duo
Living in Boston it’s gotta be the Celtics-Nets trade. When the Celtics did that everyone here was freaking out like wtf
There was a bit of a freak out but it was destined to go there anyway. Unless there were some blind Celtic fans who didn't see the Garnett-Pierce-Allen had a short championship window from 2008 on. If anything what the fans didn't realize is HOW MUCH VALUE the Nets gave up just to help the Celtics safely rebuild for 5-7 years straight. Just to have old Pierce and Garnett along with some overpaid mid players outside of their prime with that Nets group that was overpaid thanks to Proky's pockets. Dude straight up thought he could still buy a chip.
You have to remember that cousins was thought of as a bit of a problem off the floor
Love you’re videos bro! Thank you
It’s early but I think I was wrong about the Murray to the hawks trade
Pretty much don’t have when a superstar get traded for pennies because he could get injured no one knew
Most of these trades fell apart because of injuries, not because people were wrong
Jimmy butler for Josh Richardson, instead of keeping jj redick too and trading Simmons for dearon fox n Halliburton
Kemba for Terry s&t as a hornets fan had me so mad… guess I was wrong
You didn’t add the Sabonis Haliburton trade
Ingram and ball and whoever was the 4th pick in the Zino class. Thought the lakers handed the pelicans a dynasty
If the reason we were wrong is based on injuries to a previously healthy player. It's a bad argument 😢.
The kings with DeMarcus were probably the worst drafting team ever they never got their picks right
Westbrook to LA, thought they would be great....... oh wait, no, I knew It wouldn't work
I thought the kyrie trade would make mavs a contender
When will you be doing your illogical awards
Another common Presti masterclass
Jusuf nurkic to the blazers trade smaller but yeah
you sir are my favorite nba TH-camr. You make me want to make TH-cam videos .
I thought the Lakers would win the Finals with Russ 💀
Play-in games are happening and the playoffs are around the corner; what am I going to talk about?
Trades that nobody understood and everybody was wrong about. Sure. It’s not like there’s any interesting games going on.
My Kings was ran like shit by Vlade, who had no business being at his position.
AD to Lakers, then just like that, they won a championship.
Most people had the lakers winning the west with ad being added
Thé Kawhi trade who would’ve though t he’d play again
Everyone but the gm seen as the loser at the time.
Blake griffin to Detroit
Definitely Jerami Grant going to Portland.. I thought he was ready to take the next step after a decent year in Detroit.. But it was fools gold
Almost every trade the Mavs make lol. I was super excited about Rondo for Wright/Crowder and KP/hardaway for young players and picks
Dont mean this as an insult, but why are his cheeks so red?
He is blushing because he is embarrassed about getting these trades wrong
@@er7776 lol
Kinda insulting premise to this video. Thumbs down
