1 lap following Alpha 9 in 6-hour-race in Sloten

- I tried to follow Daniel Fenn for 1 lap in Sloten, after a bit less than 3 hours in the race.
Speed should have been a bit more than 52 km/h (a bit too fast for me, but was motivated and made an effort...)

Thank you for your impressive effort! I am fascinated by the Alpha 9 with its new ideas. I thought you were going to draw up alongside him for a while there... I am interested to see the design of the race hood as it is very different from its predecessors. I saw a pic of the Alpha 9 with Daniel inside at the World Championships I think, and there was no race hood. I could clearly see that this is a larger machine as it looked as though Daniel had some extra padding behind him, or the seat was positioned further forward. The race hood that I saw from other pics at that time had a slope on the front window similar to that of the Milan. Great effort anyway. :o)
The racehood here is a quick and dirty (and ugly - Daniels own words!) thing just made days before that race. He has created a normal hood for everyday use now which is also very spaceous, has a hinged visor and big openings on the side. It's not final yet, but it performs very nice and offers much overview.

Was the Alpha 9 that fast or is it because Daniel was powering it? The M9 is looking more and more to be my first Velomobile.
Daniel is always fast. But the A9 is doing great as well despite its sheer dimensions. It's very light-weight, stiff and aerodynamic. And offers enough room for taller riders or an extensive camping-trip... ;-) But yes, the M9 is the prettier of both for those average sized riders.

Interesting...that Alpha 9 seems to have a very stable drive. Any idea when production starts? Well done at 50 km/h ánd filming!
Production has already started. I already own the first preproduction model and the next ones (mainly demonstrators for dealers) will follow shortly after (maybe some weeks or months).
If you are of average height watch out for the M9 model. Same groundplate, wheelbase etc. but a bit flatter and nicer to look at thant this whalish thing in the video... ;-)
The DF is soooo quiet. What is the trick?
I think it’s called ZOAB (Dutch Zeer Open Asphalt Beton)
Don't pedal, just cruise and get pulled along by the draft of that mighty A9 in front of you... ;-) No - just kidding. I just optimized my chainline and changed to PTFE tubes. But it sounds louder when you are riding it...
