Never apologize for the rain, it's a beautiful sound
I just designed my own box with the website after seeing this video. Thank you for the shoutout to website. For anybody using the site, you put in your height and width and it calculates a depth for you. It does rectangles, not triangles and wedges. It also doesn't show putting a triangle in the corner where the port meets the chamber to "round" that corner and direct the sound.
Started a drinking game. I take a shot every time he says "really really", now I have cirrhosis of the liver.
That's a really really good idea
I had a pair of the previous model meso 6.5 and hit 136 on 800 watts and sounded great.
damn, didn't know 6.5's could get that loud, i don't think they can carry very far though. I notice the smaller subs can be pretty darn loud in car b/c they use the car as a box almost, but rattling high rise office windows from across the street you need cone area for just the distance though, i'm not for certain i kinda pulled that out of my butt, i just know bass is weird like that.
What was the specs of your box
I know this video is old, but thanks for making such a detailed video. I plain on making the same type of box for 2 6.5 inch ct sounds tropo subs
Great job on the box! I have no doubt that it hits clean and hard for two 6.5 inch subs. As you continue to build enclosures, maybe consider getting a Kreg Jig. You can hide your screws and countersink them then plug the holes so you don't have to remove any screws when routing the edges. I would go with Duratex to cover the enclosure with because it's so easy to use and looks great plus it seals it from any moisture.
Cpuld also use wood glue when assembling, so you don't have to remove the screws 😊
Would mdf or plywood be better
Great video as usual bro that is the next step I'm taking which is learning how to build a custom box. It's gonna be a learning curve but I'm down to learn
If you don't have the proper tools its hard im still learning but its not easy at all not to discourage you or anything its just a very hard thing and takes a lot of time and effort to learn even with the right tools sometimes but I have a small table saw so I am only able to use a circular saw on pices over 10 in
@@valorantorion1588 You could get by with a serrated butter knife, some rocks and a lot of patience but who's tryna do that? Some places can cut boards down for you but if you have access to tools it's worth it to build your own if you know how to. Just built my own in shop class and it sounds better than expected
@@valorantorion1588 i'm in the same boat lol, i got a table saw, and a jig saw, but then realized it's a huge learnign curve, and you forget to buy little stuff like clamps or proper screws. Most i have accomplished is converting existing boxes to fit different size boards, i converted skar's dual 8 to fit 6.5 subs, stuff like that.
Hey if helps , Down4sound sells Precut box kits , you just have to build it 😎👍
Because my issue would just be cutting the wood and getting it square and the correct ly measured cuts lol . Especially if you don't have the proper tools either 🍻cheers .
@@HighVybeTribe Not a bad idea, didn't even know they made those lol
Love your videos,Parker ive been following and liking all your media oulets ever since you started expanding and growing. Also watch every single video you put out on TH-cam like them as well. Keep growing Parker you give great info and content for all of us bassheads.
Man id love that little set up!!!!
CT sounds Meso are killer, you gotta tryout the 12" subs. I had mine going on a year and they're still going strong, but I know you really know how to test a subwoofer.💯😂
Man Parker, them 6.5s sound clean!! And you can pride yourself on making the enclosure yourself too!!
Nothing quite like a good box build video!
CT Sounds be hookin you up!!! Those are dope lil subs! I've got one of the CT Sounds Bio series on my 7.2 home surround sound! It'll play 20hz fiercely in my living room!🤣
Holy crap! I found this website when building a box for a couple of RF P3 12's for a buddy. They ask for a donation for use of the software. I gave em 15 bucks. Well worth it for the software. I use it now when I do other custom enclosures. Great video Parker, your content is always so positive and awesome!!
Wow and here I thought it was complicated to build a box but with that software made it easy
very cool little box glad to see another basshead building his own boxes same as I would very cool another great vid man thanks also nice bike I still ride my older R6 and love it I have a 2020 R1m as well but I ride the 6 alot more around town and to work
I use their mobile site. It doesn't have all the features but works pretty well. I built a box very similar to that but with the sub and port on the small end for an 8 and it's only 3-4 db below the few 12's I've tested
i could be wrong but the specs you read were for only 1 6.5, so since you have to i think you were supposed to double the .5 cubes to 1.0 cube and the 12 inches of port to 24 inches. i could be wrong tho parker, box still sounds good tho!
Even tho it was short of info, it's still a great video! You don't have to give up all the secrets. Lol. Great job Parker!
I just checked out the site real quick. It was fun to play around with for someone who has never built a proper box. Good info dude.👍🏽
I love how detailed you explain everything. Love your videos bro❤️
Dude I gotta say I look you up every other day to see what's new. I like your channel I've been trying to figure out a under seat box in a f150 ex cab with 10 or 12 I just ain't got it right to be a bass monster
Pretty wild to see that you put this out, I bought this exact setup when they first released the new 6.5 but I’m just now installing them. Might build a very similar box
I've used this site before. Made a box for 4 American Bass XD 15s. Sounds good and knocks pretty hard.
I used it and Torres calc, for my 2 12" Xfls, slams good.
Very nice clean box and that’s the best website for homemade sub box😂😂
Awesome video! I love those little subs and can’t wait to hear them bump in the sequoia!
I wanted to make a build with these just too broke now thanks Parker !!
Love all the content! Pretty cool box. Will definitely be trying!
Thanks man!!
I was about to say how "cute" it looked, buuut then you did. Whew..dodged that bullet.
Can't wait for the demo inside the truck
Like the way u show which subwoofers is the best
parker just dropped by to smash the like keep doing what you do
Damn!!
That has a bigger magnet than my first 15!!!
😵💫
Good video but when building a box definitely use a wood glue like titebond 2 or 3.
Man thanks a lot for sharing. All the info is awesome!!! I’ve been a bass head for a while and just now getting back into it
Definitely a tight app. Years back I would use a kicker app it also had test tones and a wiring charts was One of the better apps. Boom bump on bass heads bump on 🎶🎵👍👌✌️💯🥂🎃 great video
Thank so much parker
You hit it out the park.
The bix turned out great . id raptor line it
The review was staight forward an liked the details you added.
I appreciate you Steve!
been subscribed for a while parker, but never thought to check your FB page. im now a follower on FB also.
I appreciate you!!
Def use wood glue to bond the joints together and if u need something to seal use caulking after. I prefer titebond 3
Me to bro! Clear silicone on the inside.
Watching from the Bahamas got a 15 in the cab seal off from the trunk in my 98 camry
Well done, and nicely detailed.
Awesome job editing video too bro!!
I find the manufacturers recommend enclosure sizes to be way off.
When you enter t/s parameters in enclosure molding software, it paints a very different picture.
I'm running a scar 18 and they called for 2.75 sealed and 4 ish ported . After modeling it needs over 10 feet ported and between 4-8 sealed. I tell you it is allot better in the bigger boxes by far.
So a 20 cubic foot box ought to sound twice as good then. Right?
@@martinmi5 only one way to find out. Send it!
Awesome video brother like always them little subs with that new box look great an I follow you on all pages And subscribed the Sundown X12 is a Beast and if I didn't have kids them subs would be the subs I would own right now stay up man keep on keeping on 🤙🏼🍻
Cool there nice. I got the 18" CT Sounds Tropo in my room. Parker ✔️it out. It's loud for an affordable sub.
Great video keep up the good work
Thank you!!
Love the new name 💯
Thank you!!
I prefer using brass hardware to make my terminals. Looks really nice still but seals so much better.
Looks like nice door speakers
Thanks Parker great video I like those little Subs those are badass , but come on brother you know better than silicone.. that works for sealing up the box but you definitely want to use a glue for the build
My at125.4 just died on me I loved that amp. Did amazing on my mids And highs
What the great app for tune and build box subwoofer 😱😲👍🏻💪🏻.
I want build my subwoofer box can tune down to 32hz.
Anyway thanks for video and the app😘👍🏻
a great part about this site is once you make your box it changes the web address so you can save it as a favorite page and just go back to your box from the link.
I got 2 of these they knock really hard .
Those subs are adorable lol
Good job on the box bro
Nice box bass on bro
I have a 2011 impala ive been looking for something smaller that would be different and still pound, i seen these before and was wondering about them, I think I might pull the trigger on them and build that little box, and rhino line it!
love the vids keep up the good work!
Raptor liner spray it bro! Nice work.
Love your videos
I love this video, i did the same dimensions you did. , however i think you should make another box with a bigger port area such as 11- 12 squared. I noticed it creates a-lot of air , what do you think. Its worth a try and see what are the differences in between both boxes.
I agree a bigger port would not have hurt! It sounded good in my car but definitely a little port noise when I had it in the garage
@@ParkerTheBasshead i just built another box , i can say that its little punchier but we have to remember its only a 6.5, it was worth the experience.
In winisd it show the port area should be atleast 18sq.in. but 22-24sq.in. looks the best for the 2 subs in that size box
sorry for a late reply , that is so true it can do so much , none the less very cool to watch you make these builds
Dope video!!
Quick question I’m currently running two JL TW3 12s under the back seat of my crew cab Silverado and just don’t like the minimum air space.
And looking to get rid of the shallows and go with an 8” but then i seen the 6.5”
My question is you think two of these Meso will do good under the seat of my truck ?
Can you make a video on your test bench. I am looking to build a test setup and I would love to see the details of yours. I think that would make awesome vid.
Been using this program for a while.. but you’re going to have a lot of port noise running a port like that based on 9sqin on 6.5’s.. I could put this in other programs and check this but you should be no less then 1sqin per diameter of sub as a baseline standard.. with two 6.5’s the smallest you should be is 13sq and even then depending the size of the box you’re going to have port noise.. given the cubes of that box you most definitely are..
I’d have played around with .33-.5 cubes checking the response and tuned the port based on the response I wanted not what they recommend.. that box should most likely be .33-.4net per tuned to 35 to get it to play how one would actually want it too with a solid +3ish port boost and slow drop off.
With what you did to that port sizing you just returned that box from 47 or whatever it was to like 54 lol.. you just made a very expensive mid base box that will generate a lot of port noise and likely be very peaky and boomy around the tuning with I’d guess a +6 at 54.. that is not a good build at all man and you know this.. this is first timer newb shit you posted right here..
Damn sound like u know ya shit..but u ain't have to shine on him like that lol
i know this is 2 years later, but I made a box for these subs at .8 cubes, and 35 hrtz based on your comment. It is 24x8x13.something.
I used .75 mdf. subs come tomorrow. I will let you know how it works. Im unsure If my port is big enough, at only 1 inch wide, but it is pretty long so we will see! I used speaker box lite for the design.
If you are using SubBox and put in two woofers and the program asks for the woofer displacement do you have to double the woofer displacment, or does the program accont for that?
Greetz Stefan
No just for the one it does the math for you
Curious if you got suggestions on my prebuilt ported enclosure with 2 hifonics Brutus square 12s it hit really hard in a Yukon xl and nowhere near as hard in an extended cab frontier what could I do to make it better the cheap way
Titebond wood glue or loctite pl3x works great. Silicone not so much.
Didn't want to round off the edges on the port? also - does insulation really make a difference?
I got a 1980 el camino. I was thinking about building this box to put on the bottom opening behind the seats. It's like 48" wide, and 15" tall give or take. Think this would work or should I try to make a box that fits the entire opening space, with mid-speakers and tweeters?
You like plywood or MDF better?
Love that web site!
Did you make the video with theses subs in your Toyota. Cause I can’t find it
Currently rebuilding a CT Meso 15” with the 12 spoke basket.
Parker what do you all use for your in house test bench setup?
great vid just joined your fb page
Why have people git away from MDF or particle board? Wouldn't birch have more resonance? I get the hard wood for finished faces on a box, it sound wise MDF would be more dead, or less distorting I would think. Whats ur thoughts?
I was also playing qbout with it! How do you find the displacement of a sub if its not listed nor is there any recommendations for port area
@parker the basshead can I get the measurements on a box for a Rockville destroyer 12d2
I used that size box around the same port size the cubic feet may have been like .1 or .15 bigger but I used that for a toro 6.5 came out great not sure why ct recommended such a small box
Please Hit me with that SD Mr. Bassshead. Great video
When inputting the settings, do we add double the port volume and double the recommended ft³ to compensatw for 2 subs or do we only base it off of 1?
Can you test any Fi subwoofers?
So 2-10 meso should bang and smash lows??
What’s the best glue?
nice, thank you!
Very whoa, much wow.
Question I’m getting 2 sundown 12” sa series rms 1k watts is that a upgrade from 2 kicker comp r 15”? Rms 800
Quick question please, I have two Kenwood amplifiers one for a 10 inch Orion sub in its box and a Rockford Fosgate 10 inch sub and another box. I haven’t tested for frequencies yet but is it silly to have two different subs in one system? I would like to have the second sub on a remote knob to where I can turn it up or down on certain songs
Nice work.
What are those monster subs seen in plastic at the end of the vid?
Nice box👍👍
It would be intresting if you have port noise with the hard edges
What are those subs in the background at the end of the video
What do you have in your car it might be cool to try the 😎
Also Parker you ever chose a winner for the x
Im doing a box with 2 8" butthe rear port area isnt that long behind the speakers i putnin all the sme unput you did any know if that matters
I think I might have to get some ct sound 6.5 for a under the seat build they look beefy
EXOexo what happens if I wanna build a box that has 1 (x12") sub and have 2 ports... sub up/ports back the ports are slotted. How do I type that into the settings of the SubBoxPro program
Aww, how cute!
Nice
