Nintendo DS Lite Repair…What Went Wrong? | Restoration ASMR

- I purchased this Nintendo DS Lite with the intention of fixing it and playing some of my favorite childhood games. Unfortunately, I've never repaired one before, and accidentally tore the top screen's ribbon cable. I can't replace just the cable, so I'll either need to replace the entire top screen or turn this into a Game Boy Macro, or use it for spare parts.

Put it aside until you can get a screen from somewhere. You can probably find one for free, but you will have to wait longer.
This kind of ribbon cables are the absolute worst.

I snapped off the touchscreen connector lid and had to replace the whole port which is very tiny. Also if you replace a screen notice that you need isolation on the backside otherwise you blow a fuse on the motherboard.

Man that sucks. I knew when you bent that motherboard back before disconnecting the top screen it was gonna be the problem.
Tips: the power switch should just be tapped into place w your iron...those cheap things melt inside w the hot air and turn to poo.
Second use a broad width tweezer.. Like for plucking your stray hairs to reseat that top screen cable and lastly.. Don't bend theboard past 90 degrees w out removing top screen cable first.
I hate how little clearance there is 😖
@@RestorationRelaxation ive done 300 ndsl in the last 2 year's.. I still futz 1 of every 5 screens. Just no room for error. 😆 Nintendo don't want us fixing their stuff.. Bahaha
