  • ASMR and Repair! I purchased a broken N64 controller for a few bucks on eBay. It was extremely dirty, as well as broken in a few places. I took this opportunity to use a GameCube style analog stick as a replacement for the original.
    Amazon affiliate link to the bit set I use:
    amzn.to/2XFU1s2
    Link to the analog stick:
    amzn.to/3BYEuT8
    I receive a small monetary kickback for any items purchased via affiliate links.

    I hope you make some more RGH video's from X360 with solder points visible. Oh and a proper Nintendo DS Lite soldering tutorial. Most of them are with quite poor video due to the age of the console.

    I've never owned a Nintendo 64, but I played Derby64 on an N64 emulator on a XBOX, funny isn't it?

    I bought a red controller and replaced the joystick. The problem is my left button is spongy. I replaced the rubber piece under it and still no improvement. Any suggestions??

      Hey! I use the iFixit Mako bit set. I’ll include the link in my descriptions of future videos in case anybody else wants to check them out. I’ve been using this set for years and I swear by it!

    Have you considered doing anything on the original Xbox?
    Not only do they suffer from a lot of problems but they also have a great deal of possible hardware mods/upgrades.

    • @RestorationRelaxation
      @RestorationRelaxation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I surely have! I want to get a few ideas/upgrades to do in one video so I’ve been holding off until I eventually get some materials I need

      @@RestorationRelaxation If you have a 1.0 or 1.1 Xbox, make sure to add extra solder to the power connector's joints, as 1.0/1.1 Xboxs have joints that might crack and arc. I'd post a picture, but YT seems to delete comments with links.

    It is rumored that the Gamecube analog stick that you used cannot be used in finer aim games such as Goldeneye. Is this correct?

    • @RestorationRelaxation
      @RestorationRelaxation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t noticed any issues but I only played a bit of Mario. I heard the one with a hard plastic too is worse than the rubber tipped one

      That is correct, they are way oversensitive and have rather huge deadzones unfortunately. Avoid these sticks.

    There is website where you can buy the replacement part for your original stick and ends up like brand new with most of your joystick original and work like new, the gamecube analog stick sucks big time, I wouldn't go that rute.
