    I just started working on my XJs leaf springs in my garage, let me tell ya between going to homedepot for the last week and ordering missing parts/bolts/bushings, I could've paid a mechanic but the experience has been great so far. Just purchased my first saw/grinder, wish me luck

      Awesome! I’m sure it’s been a fun/frustrating project but it’s good to learn on your own like that. Hoping to get a garage and tools sometime in the future as well

    About 10 years ago you could still find them often in Philly but the past 5 years it has got difficult. Yours does look awesome and I've always liked them knowing that they are considered to be one of the most reliable 4×4 ever built but when I test drove one it just wasn't comfortable to me. I'm driving a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo and I like it way better than my 95 Pathfinder or 2002 Pathfinder. My buddies have also had a lot of 4Runners and even though they are more reliable the Isuzu is just second to none as far as the Driving Experience, at least for me. I would like a Cherokee sport in my fleet though!

      Thanks! Sounds like a have a nice collection of some iconic/classic off-roaders. The XJ would definitely fit into your collection!

    basically agree - most importantly it's a matter of time for learning and doing the job - if you use/need the XJ as a daily driver to get to your job, it's necessary to have the repair job done quickly. Tools cost you can compensate, getting educated and skilled to make mistakes and learn to do the job professionally needs time and this is the critical factor. I my case, I'm able to invest time and save labor cost, so learning by doing works well for me.

      Good to hear. I’m hoping to be able to get more tools and my own garage sometime in the future, I think it would be great for me personally but also for the channel. Appreciate the input!

    It looks like you made good decisions based on your circumstances. Do you plan on fixing the headliner yourself or get an upholstery shop?

      I went to a shop for an estimate but they never got back to me so I’ll probably be looking for another shop. I’d like to get the bumper replaced first though, still waiting on the drivers side bracket

      Not sure if they’re all the same but the ones that I replaced that go under the gear selector and 4wd selector are the sylvania 194. th-cam.com/video/8Jo48ooexvQ/w-d-xo.html

    How are you going to gain knowledge or experience if you never try. I get the workspace thing. I have to wait til it is nice out to work on mine.

    • @KCars
      @KCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I won’t, that’s why I want to get a garage of my own and tools so I can start gaining experience

      @@KCars start with a nice jack, jack stands and a good tool kit. Probably 90% of the jeep can be worked on with those 3 things. I started as a young man in the driveway and later in parking lots. Sucks, but you will thank yourself later and so will your wallet.
