I just picked up one of these keyboards, just to have an extra cheap wired keyboard around incase I ever needed it. I was so surprised at how good it seemed for only (in my case) $25 I just had to see what people who know more about these things thought about it as well. I'm really glad to see it does actually seem to be as good as I, keyboard pleb, thought it was.
I may have to grab a few more of these as gifts for my pseudo-nerdy friends to upgrade their keyboard game... I just won't tell them how inexpensive they were.
Just got this keyboard as my first mechanical! Glad to see you recommend it. I love it so far, even it's obnoxious click volume lol already planning on upgrading to a quick connect coiled cable and custom escape, space, and enter caps. Thanks for the info!

ive wanted a keyboard for the longest time and found this one early december which i have used daily andf i love it my only "complaints" is the keys they give you to swap are different font and spacing like he said in the video and they keys are a little loud but i found how to fix that so thank you. i also got extra keys that i cant use on the keyboard like a verticle enter key and verticle ins key but other then those minor things i love this keyboard and has been holding up with no signs of breaking or being worn out any time soon.

i've had my magegee keyboard for around 2-3 years, still works, although sometimes randomly interrupts connection. my laptop's a key fell off so this is a good replacement
blue is a great color
had it for not even half a year im a gamer but my a key and s key seem to sometimes be pressed twice or not at all thoughts of any fixes?
thx for explaining about the keybaord mine just gave out and i hate spending 70$ on nice sounding keyboards, i love blue switches aswel

I used this one in 3mm, but I’d probably do it again with 2mm if I had a chance:

It seems they updated the fonts on the keys but haven't updated on the sounds of the keys. Maybe trying to save cost but I'll have to do some google on the mod to remedy the noise.

Whats the response time and polling rate on it?
(It's also hot-swappable, and so somehow it's one of the cheapest options to get a DIY keyboard kit despite literally being a full keyboard, since for whatever reason a DIY keyboard kit under $50 requires buying straight from China.)

Got the 75% with red switch. Was discounted as fixed usb-a cable. It annoyed me slightly that the bag of caps are opaque but other than that I can’t fault it. Would have been nice if there was uk iso version but at this price point I guess volume is the name of the game.
I've owned a Corsair K70 MK2 and a Roccat Vulcan, lovely keyboards, but I'm sick of having expensive keyboards go faulty just outside of the warranty. I've been using a "free" HP keyboard for about 6 months now and just ordered this lil guy based off of your video - if it's as good as it looks I'd rather spend £30 per year than £130 :D Thanks for the review
duuuuuuude im in the same boat i have had 2 150 dollar keyboard die in a row just out of warranty. Im done spending big money on junk. Ill just spend 30 dollars on junk
I've been typing and mistyping and backspacing on a old logitech K120 (10$) for the past decade, so the MageGee would probably feel like a golden typewriter to me.
How did separate the housing/casing? I tried earlier today and was afraid of breaking something. I wanna add some kind of dampening. Upgraded switches and it has potential!
Gotta pull the caps and then their are screws in strategic spots holding the two pieces together. Once removed, it separates pretty easily.
Question, this might be obvious but does the keyboard come with a set of grey keys aswell as the yellow ones? Like is there a grey space bar and a yellow one? I just want to be sure before I get the keyboard.
They do. The yellow keys are optional and are in a small bag. The standard keyboard comes with only gray and white installed.

Just came in today, its my first mechanical keyboard and im happy with it. Only thing i dislike is the coloured key caps (yellow ones in the video) is that the lettering is white so you cant see the light when its plugged in

That’s interesting. So yours was tri-color out of the box? I had to install my yellow keys. It shipped with gray and white installed and had a cap puller and the yellow accent keys in a small bag.
I bought the black and grey MK - Box and orange white and black MK - Box
It’s basically a better version of snpurduri, I just got this at the door today it’s pretty decent and has good quality a d potential to go big or go home. Honestly, this keyboard is my new main.

I agree I have the steel series Apex 5 Pro 2023 and I prefer this keyboard. 😂 I wasted almost $200 lol. Anyway I’m a software engineer and I need a 60% sized keyboard for on the go and even at home that fits my smaller office. I don’t see really any worse quality from the keys obviously it is cheaper it’s not going to be the best of the best keyboard but it’s actually very good and I use it to write programs all day sometimes for 14 hours straight. And it’s held up with no problems and feels good. Thank you for this video 😊
for programming, why 60%? it doesnt have dedicated arrow and fun keys which a programmer need all the time isnt it? i think atleast 65 or 75% will do the job
@@Tech-wn8tp my bad it’s a 65% but even so most programmers use that size smaller area around keys and portability. I can type much faster than my 100% sized keyboard. Most of the people here who work at Netflix with me use 65% 70% :)
@@kawaiihikari0 wow that's amazing. I have normal 90% TKL keyboard (brown switch) but i cant wait to try the colourful 65% -75% smaller keyboard, i just love small size colourful mechanical keyboards, and its sound is so satisfactory :)
@@Tech-wn8tp it really is nice it will take a couple days at first you feel swished especially if your coming from a 90% give it a few days and you’ll start to understand and appreciate why there are smaller keyboards 🥹😊
@@kawaiihikari0 yeah, i tried that in shop soon i will purchase one.. it was a cheap one but still good, sound of typing with soft blue keys is just so addictive , love the light color keycap combination... so lovely... can you suggest any budget coding friendly monitor that is easy on eyes.. i have 4 k samsung monitor, but its too high on eyes.. i get eye strains sometime..
the key caps are definately not pbt double shot. they are standard painted key caps. at least on mine and i have the same color way.

Masking tape! It helps with the sound the keyboard makes.

So it’s a bit odd, but the accent keys do have a different font. It really doesn’t take away from anything in my opinion, because I don’t look at the keys when I type. But for users that do, that could be a small annoyance.
I see on amazon lots of people say that its low quality and not durable. How long has the keyboard lasted for people who bought it?
No issues since purchase. White keys haven’t started staining either for what it’s worth. Like I said, it’s a $30 keyboard. Don’t expect super high quality materials. But there haven’t been any mechanical issues or breakages either. Hope this helps!

typing on this keyboard right now... scored it on TEMU for $2.38 (total shipped) as my deal for installing the app. is it the best keyboard that i've ever used... absolutely not. but I will say this, it's hands down better than any keyboard under $30 available at any retailer here in the united states.
Now i'm wondering if i should get a Magegee MK-Box or save the extra £30 and get an RK61?
For what it's worth: I upgraded to the very similar RK84 after an unfortunate spill killed my MK-Box.

Is it compatible with ps4 pro?
Should be fine. PS4 Pros use standard USB keyboard protocols. No special USB (or Bluetooth for that matter) keyboard is required.

There shouldn’t be an issue! That I am aware of, standard keyboard drivers should work just fine.

I believe the new gen has keyboard & mouse compatibility. The keyboard is USB-A for your connector, which the Series S has two on the front, I believe.

honestly they're not that bad, they could do with a couple mods as with most keyboard possibly some nice foam pads and modding the stabilizers.
you can swap out the switches for something else tbh.
Completely agree! Fairly inexpensive to make pretty good! Though swapping the switches may be a bit tough for some as they aren’t hot swappable.
