I feel like Relogic should just stop listing updates as the final ones. Even if they start developing a new game, I don’t see a problem with occasionally coming back to Terraria and adding a few things if they feel like it
Yeah, I feel like leaving the game open to receiving more updates even after the sequel and other games are out if a small number of devs have an idea they want to implement as like a side project or in their free time would be good as a sort of post-life form for the game, occasional drip-feeding of updates even when they're working on bigger and more demanding projects, they can come back to update Terraria and throw the players who stuck around all this time a bone even way beyond its significant content cycle
I am under the belief they are currently developing Terraria 2/Any other game along the time they are working on this update in order to make the time to wait for a new game seem as little as possible

I remember, a million years ago, facing off against such beasts as Lepus during Easter, Turkor the Ungrateful during Thanksgiving, and the dreaded Ocram at the end of my world - all for Souls of Blight. With more successes, I made Dragon armor and used Tizona to strike down Ocram ever more. And, eventually, I found myself with a pair of Sparkly Wings! I was quite proud of making them, then realized I could buy them from the Dryad during a blood moon...
remember when mobile did'nt had hardmode? and we used cheats to add hardmode items (and had graphic bugs)? and souls of mighty dropped from the destroyer head? and crystal hearts was break using hammer and wood blocks by axe?
I would like to make mention that the guy who released the original Skyblock mod for Minecraft was actually trying to trademark or copyright the term-- not out of malicious intent, but because a lot of people were (and are) claiming his mod as the 'original' (and have been fighting mojang's own minecraft store over this too), in an attempt to have some recognition. Every time I hear 'skyblock' I remember this.
4:37 it is Steam only, but it is *not* Windows only. It should work fine on Linux and macOS. EDIT: it won't work on macOS since I don't think there was ever an official build of 1.2.4 for macOS, but Linux should work if you enable Proton. EDIT 2: it works on Linux with Proton.

For me, skyblock is about mastery of mechanics, game knowledge, and the freedom and requirement to build grand machinations. Because you have to grind any material you want to use, you have to carefully plan how you want to use them. The more efficient you are in design and construction, the less grinding you have to do. The better your designs, the more efficient your farms. I'd love a good skyblock scenario for terraria (I'd done one like CrabBar already but didn't get to hardmode) because i'm not super familiar with all of terrarias mechanics. Skyblock is a forge that refines you as a player.
Bro I have to deal with a firewall, but crossplay worked between phone and a PC. Some people say they could also cross play between ps4 and PC if you hosted a game in your PC.

There's still so many ways to experience terraria even if you don't have anyone to play with. Or maybe try to convince one of your friends to buy the game. It's pretty cheap and there's steam winter sale atm

Tbh, I stopped playing regular teraria since dirt bomb became a thing. I only play sky block now (It's been years since I've played regular teraria). The shimmer mechanics has trivialized some sky block tasks, but it did open more possibilities (I loved the change). Here's what I believe sky block should contain: 1. a pool of shimmer, walls should be 1 block thick, made out of marble 2. On top of it there should be some temporary ice blocks (like the ones created by the ice rod) and chest on top of them (in such a way they don't disappear till the chest is removed 3. The chest should just contain the moss types that can't be obtained in skyblock, plus some special "treacherous living tree walls" for gnomes, I think 25 or 30 is a fair number 3. Lava fished crates should give Hell stone 4. Frost legion should become a pre-hardmode event (shimmering a battle standard for a summoning item so that one is not confined to Christmas time) 5. The brain/eater of world, should drop an item let's call it "Hell key" that when shimmered turns into a hell-forge 6. Imo, the dungeon shouldn't be built, but rather at surface level on either side of the world, the old man would ne standing on a 3 block wide platform with a chest in the background that contains the exact number of blocks to create a dungeon biom (with 10 extra for the sake of being merciful) note: this should exist despite anything mentioned about making dungeon bricks crafted from hardmode ore 7. Jungle mimics should exist on this seed, as well as the pre-hardmode mimics similar to special seeds (Jungle mimics should allow for farming silt and ash and stuff) 8. Plantera's temple key should be shimmerable into a "Temple Crate" which contains the golem altar plus a few lizhard bricks furniture that can be shimmered into bricks (oh and a single power cell) 9. MAKE MORE STUFF RENEWABLE (I always play sky block with the purpose of collecting everything not just beating the game) 10. Put a deamon (or crimson) altar in the world (please) Optional; crimson mimics (and corrupt mimics too if you think it's unfair) have a 1% (or lower) chance of dropping a life crystal after 1 mech is defeated Either way, can't wait for the new skyblock challenge
Treacherous would be a cool specific name for unsafe living wood tree wall. But I doubt it would need to be in a chest, if it were to be added it would probably living loom to craft safe walls, then shimmer it to make it an unsafe wall item. And you could get a living loom without naturally spawning living trees by shaking big trees until you get a living wood wand, then because you have the wand you could buy a living loom from the steampunker.
The background footage on this video was Fargo's souls mod eternity mode, so you can just try something else first(also not entirely sure what you mean by massive, but some content mods are more vanilla styled like thorium or spirit mod if you don't know)
Just a quick note on the B-roll for this episode: This is the first time I've ever seen someone fight the Mutant from Fargo. It was so insane that I nearly forgot to take in what you were saying!
I only play skyblock. the fact that you need to earn every block, especially at the beginning when you are hoping for a lone slipe to spawn in your dirt cage, and then finally killing it and getting to make your jumping platforms wider. its just so satisfying
I wish we had a crafting feature where you combine a kite with a block which you can then place and the kite will fly on its own when it gets windy (and rest on the ground when it isn’t)
Chippygaming or maybe anybody else who can mention to them that they should make a really hard version of skyblock as well for those who can't mod but also really wants a fun grind with friends

I really want Minecraft and Terraria to have a full on update collab. Not just some vanity outfits and some special splash text. Features from one and another. The shimmer in Minecraft, the de crafting ability would be life changing. And shulker boxes in terraria makes having even more inventory space. As I always end up having a constant full inventory when I am doing projects or normal stuff
as much as i love skyblock yeah, i can definitely say it would be more enjoyable with some QOL (could be as simple as higher drop rates, higher spawn rates, faster tree growing and maybe start with either fledgling wings or snake charmers flute because it's absurdly easy to soft lock yourself into an unwinnable loop early by breaking the wrong thing and not being able to reach something vertically.
I beat the exo mechs for the first time yesterday, all thats left is SCal, and my first Calamity playthrough will be done! Also, 1.2 Old Gen Consol was my first version, and also my mid-childhood.
I personally hope for more bosses and perhaps a boss rush item so you can fight all the pre hard mode bosses and hard mode bosses and you get a 10 second break between each boss then a special item at the end
