You folks are currently my favorite channel on TH-cam. I look forward to your new releases all the time. I think your fishing videos are the best, but they are all good.
Me and a couple of my buddies used to cook armadillo nuggets in the deep fryer at Jack In The Box where we all worked, I believe we were about 15. It was delicious to us and we repeated that several more times😊
Jim from Oklahoma. When I was in the Army in survival training in Texas we caught and BBQ rabbit and armadillo. The armadillo was just as good as the rabbit. Enjoy your channel.
I remember when armadillo showed up here in arkansas when I was a teenager! I’ve never tried one but after this video I would try it for sure.. Enjoyed!!
No possums here in Iowa yet, but if they do show up vittles are on! Love how your showing the world food doesn’t have to come shrink wrapped in the store🙏
Hey there have you ever thought of brining in butter milk, maybe the nuggets would tenderize a bit… love your channel, you all have a great outlook.. thanks
enjoyed your video I have often thought of cooking one but have never tried it. got one rummaging around my back yard may just get the cooker out. Brenley looked like she enjoyed it
Beverly hillbillies would have said "thank you. During the depression a lot of folks wished they had some meat. The stock market caused an environmental calamity and a sudden loss of farm production over debt and foreclosure worsened things in the US. My wife's grand parents were witnesses to the gov't throwing away tons of potatoes (while people were starving) and dousing the potatoes with a dye to make the potatoes inedible just to drive prices up. Food is energy for people and animals. There are people who are buying up US farmland just so they can keep it from being farmed. We as a nation may re-visit preference vs need soon. Those who survived the great depression ate little for a long time but they realized they had to eat. I hope we don't see those days again. Losses would be higher per capita because fewer know what to eat and there are more to create a critical loss of sources sooner.... and I think someone(s) calls that a plan.
From Texas. Armadillos used to be common in the central and western parts of the state. They've become scarce with the increase in human population. As far as eating them goes, I only remember them being used in chili.
I drove all the way across Texas and never seen a dead animal on the road, i asked why, people told me as soon as there hit someone picks them up to eat, i was curious how armadillos tasted and you all answered that, interesting 😮 Thanks for sharing
Howdy, Brother! I'm with you - That's good eats! BTW, your Mini Deer Blind video was well done and extremely helpful. Thank you again and Drive-On, Cowboy!!! 🤠
Hi I have eaten alot of different critters, but not armadillo, I did eat dog in Vietnam when I was there, the people here in the USA wouldn't even touch it,but it's very popular in Vietnam, I've eat rattlesnakes in Texas at the Sweetwater snake round up,I will say that in Oklahoma there's lot's of armadillo but just never got too try it,ate alot of dove, quails, rabbit, the only thing my uncle used to catch was ele,and I just couldn't eat it, it looked to weirdo for me, I know it's a delicious thing oversees, but not for me, I love what you guy's do and your reviews are fantastic to watch, keep the videos coming sir, and say hi too everyone !!!!
Like most critters, the taste always depends on the processing, the prep and the freshness and how you cook it. You probably made it close to as good as it could be done by the looks of it. Good to know it can be good enough if you do it right. Nice demo video!
A few years ago, I was cleaning up my family property in Central Missouri. Picking up some old barn tin, and an armadillo was hiding underneath! Never had seen them on our property until then.
About 30 years ago in Salem Missouri I seen one for the first time ever! Even the conservation at the time said they had only seen a couple so far in the area.
Be careful with your clean up after. It is there that you have danger. The bacteria entering through small cuts. I saw you wearing gloves, good idea in all the parts of processing. Leprosy, Hansen's disease is a very slow developing infection. I ate Armadillo in Oklahoma. Possum on the half shell.
@@dustinpotter8312 Terrible disease and too little knowledge of it. Think of secondary contact initiated by those entering the breakdown zone. 10% bleach takes care of it all, in a spray bottle.
Seen my first live one around 1980 here in ne Ok. Rumor has it, that they started showing up during the Mickey Gilley days when truck drivers would haul them around for fun, right up us US-69. 😂
Yep, that is one and possum is the other, I could not make myself eat. I am overjoyed you all enjoyed the armadillo, but you couldn't pay me to eat one. I have eaten soft shell turtle, that was caught in Fla. the meat was sweet because of the sand. Ate snake, and Gater, but I just can't wrap my lips on an armadillo. Just Saying
The front leg are probably loaded with muscle as well at the back legs because they do dig with their front legs. Obviously looks like a smaller proportion compared to the back legs. But then I have eaten squirrel front shoulders/legs and it just looks like there is some good meat on the shoulders. Wood chuck is edible and beaver make a fine meal. Sthill haven't eaten opossum but their meat would be white. They have a lot of fat proportionately. Might be handy knowledge for future days.
I just found ur channel. Thanks for sharing the cook out on Armadillo. Just subscribed and looking forward to watching more. Mahalo @MauiHoloVanLife Wendy
I watched the groundhog video simply because I've eat a bunch of them growing up ! Now I've been seeing armadillos here in middle Tennessee, I wouldn't hesitate a second to try one myself to see what they taste like !! I'm originally from Eastern Kentucky. !!
I like your channel very much, don't guess we will have those critters up here anytime soon. I live in New Hampshire . I do eat ground hogs , porcupines, skunks and most anything that walks on four feet. Thanks again
Diller has good meat, but just like any wild ground dweller, be aware of worms and parasites. You can cook the bad stuff out of anything but the best diller and the like is harvested in the cold months. Also, smoked diller is real good alongside some sweet taters, field greens, and onion.
Need more folk and genuine content like this, truly a underrated,Bada$$,channel, love such relatable content!!!Keep up the good work bubba!!!
Possum on the half shell laughing out loud
I once saw a possum crawl out of the back end of a dead cow. Ain't et one since. Just sayin

Wow, thanks! Thank you for watching.
I like people that enjoy the simple things in life.
Good video. Always entertaining. The hand clap from the boss was so appropriate.
The batter is good on chicken also
Almost like cleaning a turtle. You're much more adventurous eating critters than i am. Now i do like young groundhog and most other critters.
I've lived in the Ozarks for 51 years and never would have thought about cooking an armadillo until now thanks for this video 😊
I always love seeing what you are up to next . God bless you and yours Mark!!
Thanks, you too!

Nothing goes to waste! Looks like decent eating. Great vid
Well the more you know! I've heard of eating armadillo before but rarely see them around my neck of the woods. Awesome to see what they cook up like!

If they are doing that already imagine what it would be like when it is the crowd and not the few that are participating. sceery

I'm thinkin armadillo and dumplins. I'd try it but not any in Idaho😢 but now we know, thankyou
You might want to look up recipes for 'possum porridge.
Ok, what's next? Skunk is too obvious. Grocery prices havent got that high yet.
Skunk is good meat. You just dress them underwater!

Good advice. In MI there is a concern with spreading Chronic Wasting Disease in Deer. Kind of like Mad Cow Disease in Europe.

If God put it on the earth it's good to eat. Blessings.
My Cajun friend cooked an armadillo once. I’m not going to say it was bad, but I will say I’d choose anything over it.
Need some Armadillo dipping sauce, I think Chick-fil-A fry sauce.
Good eatin🎉
Great video! With the price of meat these days I think I will be trying it!
Got that! Thanks for watching.
Them armadillos are everywhere. I live just west of St Louis and I see them dead on side of the rode all the time.

Born in Texas, raised in Oklahoma and never heard of anyone eating a Armadillo. Now we know.
Texas here too. In Oklahoma and Texas, we're rednecks. It takes a hillbilly to figure out eating armadillo. So this is definitely new to us!
@@FirstLast-if3htLOL, all it took was one guy from big Mo. putting in 110% for his YT channel. Love your content, Mark.
Love the comment. So awesome! My wife just said "if the shoe fits" .Thank you for watching.
You should make a motorcycle helmet out of the shell, that would be bad ass.
❤ pass me the tabasco sauce 😅.
Olu out.
I've ate it before but I got to try it fried 👍
I think them rascals just swam the Red River and migrated North with the Mexicans.
