This was a perfect video for me. I was going to rebuild my carb but after watching this and the price of a new carb was less than 20 dollars it was a no brainer.
Excellent Tutorial! I used this video to change the carburetor on my Honda GX390 for my 4 gpm pressure washer. I did exactly what it shows and now I am happy to report that my engine runs perfectly!! 8/17/2024│ I bought my Carburetor Kit on Amazon for less than $15...it included the gaskets, an air filter and spark. (not to mention...a bunch of other parts like a turn on/off switch, gas line filter and gas tube with clamp.) Thanks so much for making such a great tutorial!! I subscribed and gave a thumbs up on my computer and phone.
Thanks! I have this engine on my power sprayer for pest control and it hasn't run right in a long time. I didn't realize it was this easy to change so I'm going to be replacing it in the morning and do a good tune-up. Thanks for the great short video. It's nice and to the point, which helps me a lot!

I am not a mech guy at all but just changed the carb on our river pump (that keeps our place in Australia alive) ... your instructions were super clear and made what would have been an intimidating task a piece of cake. Hi, Just wanted to say "Thank you" for this video. My anti anti chatter spring was broken at the section were it get hooked on the carburetor. Didn't know what this spring was called. Again, thanks for explaining and describing all the parts. Very helpful.
What a lovely video. It’s quite informational if I would ever want to change a carburetor; however, I don’t. I hold cleanliness in the highest regard, especially when it comes to my loft... :)
Nice..that looks simple..I'm going to do it now..I'm sure I could do it without the vidio..but it's always a good idea to familiarize yourself with all actions you will be taking..by watching a short vidio..these carburetors are dirt cheap on ebay or amazon..from $15 to $40 depending on extras that come with it..airfilter..sparkplug..plug wire..pull start set up..gaskets ect ect..great vidio
Thanks for the video.I did something wrong on hooking up the spring... when I push the choke closed it races like crazy.. I bought a cheap Chinese carburetor to replace the one that was on there,it doesn't have that little side sediment bowl . I was told it's not needed.. my motor is for a pressure washer
Thanks for the video, very helpful. I have a generator with a Honda GX390 engine. It's 13 years old and I just had to clean the carb to get it to run after a recent hurricane. There's a slight leak in one of the gaskets & I think I'm just going to replace everything, carb/gaskets. Just curious, the 2 carb stud bolts are threaded on each end. Is there a trick to getting those bolts out?
Nice video and very helpul. How did you know which ones of the wires fit on the starter. I have a green wire that isn't hooked up but I cant short the positive on the starter solenoid across and it will start .. but don't know which wire needs to be hooked up to starter so I can use the key. any thoughts on this .. I would appreciate your help. thanks much.. GD Tractor

Yeah, good video. I bought one of those cheap Chinese replacement carburetors too. I need to get on it and see if it works

Choke lever protrusion can be used to temporarily stop up gas line. Great video, very thorough!

Joel; The choke lever on the Honda engines has a plug on the rear the serves as a temporary plug for the gas line.

Thank you for the info. Discovered I installed my gasket behind the carb upside down. Would not run without choke.

Are the carburetors interchangeable on all the gx series engines?
I didn't see how you attached the fuel line. I am having a heck of a time making that little turn at the end. When do I attach the fuel line?
