Thanks! It depends how good it turn out from your printer, mine was pretty messy due to curved initial platform I guess, so it was bad. But your might be a perfect fit! Good luck ;)
Are you too applying a gloss varnish to the power dome? I’m currently printing myself this statue, do you think it’s a good idea to “dip” the power dome pieces in the varnish to get a more transparent look?
I’m curious about the gloss varnish on the Power Dome application process. Could I “dip” the power dome pieces in a bucket of varnish and still get the “transparent” aesthetic?
Hey, what you mean smoother result before painting? I use resin 3D printer and from that, prints are pretty smooth already, no need to do any other preparation, just clean up support tracks.
I printed two heads with helmet, from one I "dremel" out whole head and kept just a helmet, and from second one, I cut off the helmet and kept just the head.
Hey, I made it about 5cm taler due to very small head that modelers made. I am used to paint 1:6 heads from HotToys and this is very off-scale so I made statue a bit larger. Base was cut so I could print it with resin even tho I usually use STL printer for base.
@@3DPainting thanks for the reply. Yeah sorry, I understood that correctly. I guess I was surprised it was so easy to cut it out so cleanly. Great video. Thank you.
Well, in modeling, when you say seal the paint, you usually refer to use transparent varnish on it to have in protected from future work witch can me disrupting for previous layers
I have a problem. When I try to spray the gx pink in the airbrush, it sticks after a short time. The color feels somehow very "dry". I have already thinned the paint. Do you have any idea what I can do differently? Use a 0.2mm needle in my airbrush
Only idea is bad thinner? Are you using original mr thinner? Other than that I do not know, airbrush nozzle doesn't matter. Make sure you dont mix it with other liquid that maight remain in your airbrush
@@3DPainting i have a problem with the pink. Do you use thinner or something or something else? The pink don’t link vibrant at my model. Don’t know my fault 😞
Amazing!
holy smokes man! this was incredible to watch! I haven't even started on mine as I wasn't entirely sure where to begin. This was just amazing
Thanks Jessy
What a magnificent piece.....well done Sir.
this is awesome. i will watch some of your previous videos to learn abit more about coloring techniques. this was a great job
bravo,mate.Awesome job
Speechless!
And great tutorial!
Nice work!!
Great job 👏🏾 i’m gonna try the shading with pastels instead of airbrush, lots of times i over spray with airbrush. Thank you
Good luck buddy, dont forget to seal pastels with clear varnish ;)
I am painting mine now. Thank you for the great ideas. Beautiful work. How hard was it to hide the seams on the dome?

Yes, its sprayed with gloss varnish

Could I “dip” the power dome pieces in a bucket of varnish and still get the “transparent” aesthetic?
It would probably leave some dripping effect
This is awesome. May I ask where can I purchase a resin unpainted sculpture of magneto ?
I just purchased an airbrush unit and wanted to do a statue.
Hi, I don't know, I just print statues.
may i ask a step by step to get smoother result before painting??
Hey, what you mean smoother result before painting? I use resin 3D printer and from that, prints are pretty smooth already, no need to do any other preparation, just clean up support tracks.
Lovely work. How did you get the helmet off the head without damaging it? Thanks
I printed two heads with helmet, from one I "dremel" out whole head and kept just a helmet, and from second one, I cut off the helmet and kept just the head.
Hi, what scale did you print this. I’ve got to reduce to 50% to print main centre rock on my Saturn 2 without splitting it into smaller pieces

In the video, you break the helmet off in several pieces, did you have glue the helmet back together?
I've printed two heads with helmet, I cut off helmet from the first, and cut off the head from the second. Then I painted it and glued them together.
@@3DPainting thanks for the reply. Yeah sorry, I understood that correctly. I guess I was surprised it was so easy to cut it out so cleanly. Great video. Thank you.
@@3DPainting now I just gotta figure out how not to break it when cutting off the helmet:) I’m 0-2 so far
I used dremel
Would you recommend black wash or the powder shading you were using?
Only with airbrush
Hey there I was wondering how you seal your dry pastels?
Well, in modeling, when you say seal the paint, you usually refer to use transparent varnish on it to have in protected from future work witch can me disrupting for previous layers
@@3DPainting okay that’s what I thought thank you!
Also what do you seal the black pastels with so it just don’t rub off
Clear varnish. I useed the one from citadel, or satin from army painter or you can use again airbrush. Best one is super clear III from mr. Hobby
@@3DPainting can I use Krylon UV-Resistant Clear Matte Spray can?
I guess so 🙂 just give it a try off the model if it "likes" your paints so you won't potentially ruin it
@@3DPainting ok thank you.

@@3DPainting yeah I’m using the original Mr thinner. What is your mixing ratio? How many parts paint how many parts thinner ?
About 50/50 I'd say?
How many layers do you use with the chrome?
Usualy one thin and one thicker by my needs. Optimal should be 3 thin I'd say but I dont have time for that 😊
@@3DPainting thanks and how long do you let dry the chrome?
Well, that depends what kind of paint you use, for my Alclads its about minute
@@3DPainting i have a problem with the pink. Do you use thinner or something or something else? The pink don’t link vibrant at my model. Don’t know my fault 😞
It has nothing to do with thinner. You must use proper base coat, for pink it would be white.
