Until I realized that I can pause the game every time I wanted. Enter a large room? Stop and check. Someone spot a xeno? Stop and check. Massive onslaught coming? Stop and study your surroundings to set up defenses. I use it even multiple times during the same fight to better decide squad movements and best abilities.

Tehnically, there is "manual" save when deployed but only if you have enough tools (at least one for single door safe rooms). Whenever you weld yourself into a safe room (preferably with one door), after resting, the game will save the progress. RNG with marine's skill is bad feature imo. Anyone who's familiar with the military knows that you get skilled through training and according to your abilities - not some random lottery. You cant be a sniper if you cant shoot for shit or do your math correctly. We players ought to be given freedom to develop our characters as we like, not what some RNG gives us. Also, because we cannot manually control individual marines, this game desperately needs formation rotation feature i.e. by clicking a button that we can rotate charaters how they are placed (clockwise for example). Many times I've raised alarm because I was spotted and my recon sniper could not get a silenced shot at an alien in time - most of time, you need to have your entire team exposed for sniper to have a line of sight. Selecting and controling the tecker drone should be simplified i.e. to automatically select drone and switch to controlling it and its skills by clicking on drone icon on the left side of screen.

@@MistaFiOth it wasn’t even meant in the negative way it might have sounded. Sorry for that. Some games require such behavior (save&reload cycles) as RNG elements are too punishing. It’s more a game design critique, shouldn’t be a personal attack. Reading my comment a second time I can see that it could easily be interpreted as such. Apologies for that.
I played through the game and the camera is awful. it won't properly center on the team so you can literally have them walk out of frame and you can't move the camera to follow. I was playing last night and whatever glitch was going on in game with the camera it wouldn't center, when you would press "home" and some areas of the map they would walk right off camera and you couldn't get them back unless you sent them where the camera was. After twenty minutes of this, I Exited the game and restarted. It was a little better but the camera controls are buggy as hell and it ruins the game when you can't move around their map in areas you should be able to explore. I'm disappointed and strongly considering asking for a refund. This game is seriously broken.
There are bugs, true. But the game at its core is good. I agree that the paying customer has the rights to a functional product. I'd wait for a bit though. It has issues, but it's not a train wreck. Give Tindalos a chance to fix it.

Sounds like fun! 😛
How long is the game?
I'd say, if you are really meticulous, about 20 hours.
@@MistaFiOth thank you. And does it have much replayabilty? I will assume you will go through the same maps again.
Yeah, but you can tinker with your difficulty in the associated menu to create custom-made ones. There is some replaybility here.
Wow, what bs! You can load the game at the command report and have a different scenario to select on the next day?! Thanks for the tip!
Yup. I strongly recommend you try it too. The game tried to screw you REAL hard sometimes.
@@MistaFiOth Single player games are usually scripted for a consistent experience, this game has uneven balancing issues.
@@UnsaltedCashew38 heavily scripted, linear games are the ones you are referring to. If a game is more open-ended or emergent, you can't have everything tailored. I agree, there are difficulty spikes, but consider the player base's background. How many of today's gamers have actual experience with the genre?
8:00 that is annoying RNG
RNG is always annoying. 😛
How do i remove trauma?
The Guide is coming up in a bit! Stay tuned my man!
The Psych ward. It's unlocked after the second mission area I believe
@@Kazanko28 thank you
Poor RNG lol 😆
Bane of my existence!
what is RNG?
Random Number Generation - it means some things happen randomly, pretty much.
thanks @@MistaFiOth
@warrencantero my pleasure!
wait no manual saves? nobody else has mentioned this that ive watched, i was on the edge of buying this but thats a def no from me now then
You can force the game to save by making safe zones and resting. It's not a traditional system though, and saves will overwrite themselves as you progress.
@@MistaFiOth no manual saves for a game like this is just a hard pass, especially if its so RNG heavy
I agree. I believe they should have gone with the traditional approach as well, especially since the game is so prone to crashing.
yeah its a bit crap that you can't just save it. Pet peeve of mine. Making safe zones and using lifts is the best way to mitigate this.
Recurring tip number one: save scum…a lot…all the time…got it
Play however you want, I don't give a cold poo. For the people who want to have a smooth experience - ESPECIALLY the ones who don't dabble in games like this - the advice will help. Take your purist attitude and go somewhere where they care about such trash.
Pressing Home makes it follow the team I believe. Definitely zooms to them and I think it follows.
ew rng
Well, all these games have it mate.
Nice...thx👌
Enjoy!
@@MistaFiOth Jab. Love this franchise 👌
We all do, dude! Stick around for more!
