- Recipe for making breadfruit pie as it's done in Tobago. I first had this dish while on Vacation in Tobago at Jemma's Seaview restaurant. Using precooked breadfruit along with a delicious seasoned cheesy sauce to form what could be described as scalloped breadfruit.

it would've been nice to see a slice of the pie after it was done
Chris instead of chopping the breadfruit try grating it on the chopping side of the grater(larger side). Also what my grandmother and mother used to do was boil it over night ( half cook the breadfruit) to the point where it is not to soft and place in a ziplock bag and freeze overnight.........this will make the grating process easier....i am from Trinidad (Toco) and i do enjoy your videos.....continuedoing what you do!!
What about using a Blender rather than hand grater?

Chris hi try cooking the breadfruit then mashing it similar to how you did the cornmeal cou cou it's called breadfruit cou cou in barbados
Great recipe. Tried it and it came out perfect. Next time I think I'll also layer it with ground beef or chicken. That will be a boss breadfruit pie. Keep good Chris.

Hi Chris always love your cooking my sister makes bread fruit pie with bread fruit layer on the baking dish and ground beef on top and another. layer of breadfruit on top cheese topping on top we all love it since we had plenty of breadfruit on estate inTobago

Can you use coconut milk or does it have to be evaporated milk?
this is not how we make it in ST.Lucia we mash the breadfruit and we use saltfish in the cheese sauce and we mix it like mash potatoes .EVEN BETTER

I like your way for the breadfruit pie. My daughter made it for a picnic, but she added salt fish , it was the "bomb". They bypass the macaroni pie .

That looks good! Unfortunately, I can't find breadfruit or scotch bonnet peppers where I live. Would it work to use unripe plantains and habanero peppers as substitutes?
