Appreciate your videos. Nice that you keep demoing the latest rigs to hit the market. Great for POTA but for SOTA the wire mess and peripherals defeat the portability of the radio. You should put it side by side with the QCX, QMX or the trusdx which are 1/3 the price and tri-mode capable (TruSDX, QMX). Keep the vids coming.
The QMX is a cool radio, but it's definitely not as good as this radio is for CW. Since I'm pretty much strictly CW, I wouldn't use the digital capabilities, so that really doesn't matter to me personally. For most people though, the QMX is probably a better radio since it will do digital and eventually SSB. The (tr)uSDX isn't even in the same league as this radio. Mine is relegated to living in a Faraday cage just in case. It's really not good for much outside of that. It works, but the audio is atrocious and the filtering is non-existent. As for the peripherals comment, I'm not sure that holds water as every one of these small CW QRP rigs has that same issue aside from the KH1 which is $1100.
OK, if you’re stuck on an island and you can only have one palm sized rig. Is it the QMX/QCX, SW-3B, MTR-3/4B, CFT-1, TR-35, TruSDX, FX-4CR, KX1 or the KH1? Oh yeah, you have a resonant multiband antenna so don’t factor in the antenna tuner. Also, the rig is there for entertainment purposes only... not for life saving. What do you take?
@@EvanK2EJT I hope my profile pic didn’t bias your answer! If you haven’t tried the 1.7 version of the firmware for the FX-4CR yet, you should. So much better for CW.

Thanks for the lesson at LICW!

@@JoeN2DI Well, if it's the only radio I have, I'm gonna go with the FX-4CR. 20w all mode...... Hard to beat that.

@@JoeN2DI I didn't even notice your profile pic until now LOL. I do need update the firmware. I'm still on 1.6. Maybe I'll do that this weekend.
Great little radio.
I enjoy it. It's a fun little rig
Man that CFT-1 just sounds so crisp.
Awesome loadout today Begali + WRC!
Heck yeah man! Big-ass expensive shack key on a little tiny QRP radio 🤣
