@@unitedwestanddividedwefall3521 there is a lot of "cutting air" because of excess clearance in the cnc program that could be eliminated, however this clearly isn't a production shop, or a production job so who really cares. Cam software can be a pain to really master and maximize efficiency but for this job it didn't matter, and the finished product looked great. If this person was going to do it 20 more times it would be worthwhile to take the time and speed up the operation.

Something calming about watching CNCs go lol . Makes me miss my old job . Out of curiosity, why not get a tap instead of using the cutting bit ?
If you break a tap... the slide might be ruined.. and it's not your slide to ruin.

You need to explore tooling options lot of wasted time.
