Mimir carried plenty throughout the games. Not combatively, but Atreus and Kratos would've 100% failed, moments after meeting him, if he didn't tell them where the highest peak really was. And they wouldn't have managed to form as strong and healthy a bond without him.
Considering Odin's entire thing is that he's obsessed with creating a safe path out of the constraints of existence, the fact that he can't acknowledge the brutal shit he did as evil, All fucker is a good insult, he destroyed everything he ever held sacred in the past.

Yeah kratos was born a demi god as the son of zeus but after beating ares he took his position nd all his powers this is when he was first made a real god hence why kratos was able to grow giant nd even wield the blade of olympus he did drain his godly powers into it like all his spells nd upgrades from previous games but he was still a god at that point by the time we’re about to fight zeus in gow 3 hes stronger than hes ever been up to that point and after the fight he stabs himself with a literal GOD KILLING weapon nd walks it off like a boss indicating he either can’t kill himself or is dam near immortal im not sure what it would even take to kill kratos fr at this point

He manipulates Atreus so meticulously and thoroughly every step of the way. He starts off calling him Loki because he knows what that name means to Atreus. Even Odin as Tyr, he calls him Loki and champion.
I feel like that genuinely hit Odin a bit, because, though he doesn’t care if people hate him, he DOES care if they respect him, so to hear such a juvenile taunt about his most prestigious title, coming from the mouth of the advisor who once cowtowed to his every wish, genuinely hit home in a way
It's also quite karmic. Powerful as Odin is, his M.O. has generally been the manipulation of others so that he need not waste his own energy. He's ultimately beaten by three people who were able to reconcile their differences and put their trust in one another, working together; while he is alone after everyone he relied on for his manipulations is either dead by his own hands or because of his machinations, or has abandoned him.
Not saying the entire battle rested on the insult, but Mimir distracting Odin at a key moment to be overwhelmed by the trio was the best thing ever! like...it served to throw Odin off, who was quipping throughout the battle, and then Mimir completely throws him off with a retort...that to with the exact thing that Brokk called Odin. Beautifully written and executed.
I like how in that final beat down the QTE prompts are only for Atreus, since he's coming into his own and seemingly slowly becoming the protagonist of these games
I think the whole god of war thing is gonna stay with Kratos- since well… He is a God of War. Loki is the God of Mischief. I have a feeling Atreus is gonna get either his own spin-off game or they’re gonna have their games pull a ratchet and clank thing and have you bounce between their perspectives/stories. Maybe even intersect on occasion, if the story between Kratos and his son isn’t entirely over.

I think earlier in the game kratos mentions that his magic isn't as strong and having atreus was a big reason he can fight. Also norse magic is different from greek magic.
You are underestimating odin, there is a reason it took 3 of them to beat him even with a binding spell by freya. If kratos had the powers from his homeland then he could probably solo but seeing how easily odin killed thor and used mjolnir

A nice touch wouldve been adding Mimir into the last QTE since everyone else got their hits in, like Kratos just launches him at Odin so hard that he bounces back and he catches him. I know it would mess with the tension of the scene but I think Mimir would like it, a last "Fuck You" to Odin

Odin only bothers to show up after Kratos had spent hours fighting and finished a grueling battle against Thor. He never challenges Kratos when he's at a 100%.

You don’t unlock the relic that turns Mimir into a laser beam until AFTER you kill Odin.

A nice touch wouldve been adding Mimir into the last QTE since everyone else got their hits in, like Kratos just launches him at Odin so hard that he bounces back and he catches him. I know it would mess with the tension of the scene but I think Mimir would like it, a last "Fuck You" to Odin

Damn, he fought alone against Fully-powered Kratos, Freya (aka the literal Valkyrie Queen) and Loki himself.
Zeus would hardly fare any better against the same odds.
it took kratos multiple attempts and the power of hope to solo zeus. even then zeus still knocked kratos out.
Odin only bothers to show up after Kratos had spent hours fighting and finished a grueling battle against Thor. He never challenges Kratos when he's at a 100%.
