Unfortunately, they also seem to be pushing the limits of how little tikets you can sell with a film that is both critically and popularly acclaimed. I don't know if there's something wrong with the movies they choose to make, with their marketing, or it's just that stop motion doesn't sell. I hope they don't have to close
@@cerocero2817 CG is SO overrated (I know Pixar pushes it to its limits but some companies just uses it for the sake of using it). 2D movies are dying in the cinema (despite still going strong on Television screens), and Stop Motion is stupid levels of unappreciated. Laika need more love and now there is CHANCE they might go out of business. I think they are still good but if their next movie FLOPS, Laika dead and I don't want that to happen. Please NO. I love stop motion and I'm doing as much as I can to support them. Honestly, the only thing I CAN do is buy stuff from the official Laika online store.
Also, LAIKA, make a version of your puppets for kids. You can even promote them by having kids animate a 2 minute scene with the puppets and submitting it for a contest. Im 31 and the kid in me would LOVE IT haha and my 12 and 5 yr old girls have grown up with LAIKA, they're favorite movies of all time are Coraline, Paranorman and Boxtrolls and they'd absolutely love having a slightly simplified version to make their own little frames with. And it also gets kids interested in stop motion at a young age, im so scared this art form will die out which is why I support LAIKA 100%. Yall are geniuses. Idk maybe bad idea but i hope they do it anyways haha

Disney makes movies almost every month coming out with new and funnier ideas while most stop animation movies don’t even make it into a movie theater, LAKIA is a good movie maker but in my opinion Disney’s better :/
ParaNorman has always been my favorite film of all time. I have at least watched it 6 times. Last time I did was 2 days ago. I cried a lot when Norman and the girl met. What film is sad and funny simultaneously. What a roller coaster of emotions. And the animation is truly remarkable.
The movie that I want to see in this studio would be a sequel of Coraline and a dinosaur movie called dinosaur island not like the other ones you’ve known maybe not but a good one
oh man, this is incredible! i absolutely love laika animations and paranorman is my favourite, even though i love all of the movies like kubo, missing link, Coraline, and more! i am actually interested in animation myself. It is a special feeling when you know how much effort the creators of each movie have put into making each film enjoyable or smooth to watch, and im all about that! its great to make people happy and it sounds like a fun, but difficult process to do, but its always worth it. if you do make a movie then decide its not worth it, keep its assets so you could reuse them for another animation since, no one knows of the movie that wasn't up to scratch, people won't know you reused some assets. keep being inspired to make people happy, because you guys are awesome at what you do! because it sure inspires me to create something new and exciting.
This is my favorite stop motion film of all time. Such heart. The story was beautiful. So underrated and it really deserved better. The animation was stunning.

What I love about Laika movies is that every time you rewatch them, you’ll always find something new in the background. They put so much detail and love in their work and it really shows.

These creators are genius!! How have they not won every award under the moon!? They created Coraline too which is the most Epic & phenomenal film ever. 🙌
When watching the film again I had to stop, pause it, and just take a moment to re-realize that every single thing on my screen was hand-made, positioned, placed, and animated by a person, by an entire team of different people in fact. With some of the scenes in the movie it just blows my mind that they could make everything flow so smoothly!!

I don't know how many pictures per second they used with paranorman but Kubo, took 24 Pictures per second which is kind of AMAZING!
