Pixar and Disney don’t usually do that (they usually have the character designs down pat before storyboarding, which comes before voice acting) and Dreamworks, Illumination, Sony, and some others only do it because they are hacks who make movies to make money, not as a form of creativity, or thematic meaning (some specific movies withstanding, as they were actually made by people wanting to make art). I know I’m being a bit dramatic, but I seriously implore you to LOOK THINGS UP before definitively saying a thing like that.
Paranorman is still, to this day, my favorite Laika film and in my ultimate top 5 favorite films of all time. It’s so underrated and deserves more credit. Seeing this old behind-the-scenes video being posted over 5 years later really makes me happy that it’s still remembered and getting some love.
Mis' Sushi they took Coraline off too, I think it’s because Laika has a lot planned. I think /hope they keep extending their merchandise and company I really love them.

Coraline performed better than Paranorman. If Coraline spent pennies on advertisements, then there is a good chance that that movie turned up a profit. Can't say the same to Paranorman, sadly...
The voices and animation are phenomenal. Just phenomenal. But I feel like the writing could use work. Some of the dialogue made me roll my eyes, which is a shame because of the writing was better, this would be my favorite movie

Neil carries the entire movie that kid was so talented.
So they filmed the end (Stuff with Aggie) first as he looks really young in that shot with Jodelle.
