Speed runs can be trickier than they look - as you're finding out, lol. I'd go harder on the compound not softer, imo (try purple or even, double purple?). The heat generated during a speed run will tear up a foam tire and pieces will come flying off. Not to mention, softer foams are highly susceptible to crashes. Just EASE into the throttle and the tires will come up to temps pretty quickly. You do need to find a longer, straighter road, though. I also noticed that the aggregate (stone and gravel) in that asphalt looks pretty rough and that will easily upset the chassis and wear the foam. I'd highly recomment James McCoy's TH-cam channel, he holds the current wirld record for speed runs.

Yea they're definitely hard, especially in a 1/12th scale car lol. I would imagine it's a touch easier in a 5th or 8th scale car, but after a certain speed, all sizes will be hard.
Good call on the tire compound info! The only reason I want to go softer is that the tires are not actually getting chewed up by the ground, but the body, and the car doesn't seem to hook well on any surface.
We did take it to different roads, and the outcome was really the same, the main road you're seeing that's really rocky ( I thought the same thing) was the fastest we got (68mph).
I did set the expo on the throttle and steering to eliminate whisky-ing either one, and that seemed to help some.
I would love to find a longer road, but that in itself seems to be a chore lol.
Thanks for the information on the channel, I'll go check him out!!
Thanks for tuning in, and commenting it's really appreciated!! 🍻🍻
