I'm 34 years old, I started watching One Piece in 2002, I've seen all the most famous anime and even the lesser-known ones. I can tell you with extreme sincerity that you are starting the most beautiful journey of your life.
38 here. Started in 2004. Best work of fiction in our time.
33 yo. there... started like 10 years ago... and actually I seen many times the anime... i seen too many other animes... A very lot of thm too, I agree, Eiichiro Oda (Author of One Piece) IS A FUCKING GENIOUS STORYTELLER!!! You will cry for many different reasons, you will laught a lot, (sometimes in middle of a bad cry), you will love many (if not the most) of the characters, you will hate some of the enemies, (in a way you should hate an enemy, not because hating the writing of that character), you will be literally, as the title of that video you just seen, breathtaking... overwhelmed by senses... The Author Oda is the GOD of STORYTELLERS!!
The most you waits to see it, the more you will regret once you started and comprehends how complex and well bonded are the stories between them... in the chapter 1100 aprox. they just revealed something related to the chapters 300 - 400... and that is... whoa... you really will feels like living the adventure with them...
There's no better anime in Storytelling and feelings flowings than ONE PIECE.
Edit: because i forgot to say something more (LOL, sorry haha X'D) I saw a lot of reactions of people on youtube... and some of them were even haters and people not convinced that it would like them, but they started challenged by their own community fans. guess it... yeah, they understood why they were challenged to see it... now they are too One Piece lovers... ;)
34 been reading since 2001! We are on the cruise!
30 here, started in around 2002 reading Shonen jump. As a kid the characters is what pulled me but thee world is what made me stay. Oda has realized the world of one piece first and made the characters around it. I've watched many pieces of fiction but imo one piece stands above all else. he's truly the Tolkien of our generation and never disappoints. Years of being a fan in the usa was brutal because people usually clowned on its child like appearance but its FAR from it. Seeing new people pick it up and legit enjoy his work from the start really speaks true to his timeless writing and that its not just carried by some rose colored glasses. Its very much a piece that gets BETTER as it goes on, till this day it feels like one piece still has not peaked yet and ODA is just getting started. I hope you enjoy the blissful ride and development of this series like we all have ourselves and through the people watching it for the first time.

I always tell people who first start One Piece. It’s NOT about catching up…it’s about the ADVENTURE. Let yourself get lost in the story, in the world that it builds. One Piece is a whole adventure and like any grand adventure, it is intimidating at first! Once you start tho? You’re going to be glad that you did.
I believe that One Piece does World Building better than ANY other fiction ever written, and I will DIE on that hill.
I found a few that can compete in my life, but One Piece is definitely among the GOATs world building wise (and as manga goes, absolutely unmatched)
Yes Oda and J.R.R. are my 2 favorites. In fact One Piece is the Lord of the Rings of this century. Yeah I know it's technically from last century but most of it is from this century.

I'm thrilled to hear you're considering watching One Piece! Don't let the episode count intimidate you; instead, savor every moment of this epic adventure. 1103 episodes, it's true that catching up might take some time but do not rush because every island every person in this adventure matters. Having watched countless movies, TV shows, and anime myself, I can confidently say that One Piece stands out as a masterpiece in world-building and storytelling aspect. Of course, that's just my opinion. All i can promise is that you will experience all kinds of emotions in this journey.
Whem you have hundreds of episodes to set up a emotional moment it hits different.
right now i watch 2 reaction channels that took on the one piece anime and one of them already reached episode 100 on TH-cam. Both reactors on that channel (its a couple) could not believe how fast the time was flying by and that they already got almost 10%.
The anime is 25 years old. The manga is 27
i put off one piece for a looong time because of its length but one day after watching tons of other anime I gave it a try, and it has become one of my favorite shows of all time even outside of this medium. this story is a modern day epic. theres so much content, but when you catch up it feels like theres not enough! One Piece will bring out every emotion imaginable and can make grown men cry. 1000% worth the watch, and by the end you may even want to go through it all over again
I've seen a few people compare One Piece to Homer's Odyssey and I agree with the comparison
One Piece is about a world that is composed of Countries/Islands with differing Weather, Ecosystem, Economy, Occupants and Culture -- It's a Journey, that's like a 1,000+ stories. Yes, I understand it's a daunting task (the biggest their is Comics/Manga/Anime speaking) Beating Spiderman and Batman comics at lifetime sales/viewership... This gives you a hint to what kind of stories this journey unfolds
One Piece is very very intimidating to cover. It's really long but the journey is sweet and once you get to the later end, you'll realize, IT'S NOT LONG ENOUGH! One Piece is not just an anime. It is an experience.

I absolutely love how once your smile came across your face it never left. That smile will turn into tears and laughter and everything in between. Don't be intimidated by the numbers of episodes. People have to remember, there's that many episodes for a reason haha. The live action is good but of course is nowhere close to the actual anime or manga of course but still good.... To answer your question of "when do I start?" How about next week by the latest? LOL

You will laugh harder then you have ever laughed. It will make you cry harder then you ever thought a show could make you cry. It is one of the most emotionally invested best adventures ever written.
That’s the spirit!! My first anime was one piece, it is a long journey but to be honest that was my thinking at first sight.

I've watched one piece for almost 15 years, and yes, 1000 and more episodes can feel intimidating at first... But the closer you'll get to 1000 the more you'll think that that's not enough.

Maybe the live action One Piece isn't as visually pleasant as the anime (for obvious reasons), but it keeps the narrative and character arcs intact, so is a good alternative to get into this world without feeling overwhelmed for the crazy amount of episodes...
the length is definitely intimidating but its also the one of its biggest positives, it is a humongous epic that is truly the definition of the saying the "it's about the journey not the destination"

So you're inclined to listen to my advice (and not just mine, I'm sure) and try this one. This will make you cry in buckets, laugh with your neighbors if they want or not, cringe in epic moments and exult at the breathing taking story of every character. It's a world like none other. I might say it's the best world of anime, it's absolutely mindboggling. I congrats for taking the 1st step towards it, Kamille.🥹
Hi Johnny, I actually watched the first 5 episodes last night, the first post will come when I've edited 10 videos ready :') I love it so much and I laugh a whole bunch. It's much more lighthearted than Attack On Titan, so i am very happy that I am watching both of them, so I can get the insane action and also the love and happiness from this one!
@CentaneAnime I'm gonna try not to spoil much. Thus I am saying to you a few things.
1. This anime was beelow Bleach and Naruto in my top 10, but in the last 2 months I've been watching reactions to episodes 227 to 377 daily. It's awesomeness, pure mindfck. It's definitely in my top 5 now. In spite Bleach having the best characters in anime and Naruto having the best one character in anime Uchiha Itachi. One Piece's world and story is just better.
2. You'll like ep 1 through 226, especially Alabasta arc that's about the middle if it. But maybe you won't love some story building in the rest of the episodes during that time, that's the reason many have quit One Piece, evan I have skipped some of them 15 years back... but my God is it good starting with ep 227! None stop mindfck for over 1000 episodes after that so always keep that in mind! And it's not as much the world that you discover bit by bit, it's the characters. What they do is just... it's just better than the world itself, but Oda the mangaka creator of the show did not want that exposed here, that's why it's not in the presentation. As you can barely see any of the main characters.
3. I never watched reactions from ep 1 to 226 evan with my favorite reactors, but I will with you! And I will become a member soon! Can't wait!🙂↔️

I binge watched it just like you back then when there were only 500 episodes out there and waited week after week for every episode. Every arc you watch from there will blow your mind.

Should check out all of the one piece openings as a reaction as well! Definitely has some spoilers but you probably won’t be able to tell what is and isn’t, plus you’ll have hundreds if not thousands of episodes before you get there anyways.😅
One Piece is an all time great and absolutely with watching. i stopped watching at around ep 750 years ago, now it's up to 1100+, started rewatching it a bit ago, up to around 200. you should check it out, don't need to binge it but maybe 2-3 episodes a week should lead to you catching up in a couple years lol.

@@CentaneAnime that's good too, just don't get burnt out on it, some of the long arcs do drag on a bit and there are some less then great filler arcs
@@CentaneAnime Just a tip. Do it at your own pace. Don't rush because that is the main reason people get burn out. When they rush and don't appreciate the story as much as they are rushing to catch up.
Here's I'll say, One Piece is an adventure anime. The main enjoyment here is in the journey and not the destination.

It's not just the world that has so much depth to it, each country is unique to the point where they have their own customs, culture, geography and whatnot. To give you a brief spoiler on what I mean (you'll forget long before you ever reach this point).
There's an Island ruled by a Queen and her family. She has an ability that allows her to rip the lifespan out of whoever she desires (it has limits though) and she can place that lifespan into inanimate objects. So when you go to her country, you'll see various things like buildings, doors, mountains and trees all communicating with each other. Her country is mostly peaceful which is why lots of people tend to live there. Its endless free food and entertainment so long as you're willing to give up 1 month of your life every year which will be used to develop the country even farther.
Not only the countries are well developed, but the characters inhabiting them are as well. At the start, you'll have a lot more characters that feel like they won't matter in the long run but somehow, they just keep coming back and when they do, you just get more depth out of them and start to treat them like an actual person. This story will make you laugh, it will make you question things, it will make you absolutely beyond pissed off and it will make you ugly cry. Take your time with it, it's a journey that we'll all take with you as we have 100 times before with other reactors! I personally watch a bunch of them, I pick up on new things every single time I do. A certain design on a flag somewhat early in the series made me question something hundreds of chapters later (its absurd but you have to speculate on things like that).
Edit: also don't worry if you don't pick up on everything... because you won't. no one does. We'll inform you of these things as time goes on.

Welcome to the world of One Piece I have two pieces of advice before you get to deep into the show number one bring tissues trust me you'll think that's for this number two I think you might need a couple moderators people like to spoil so if you want to go through this spoiler-free I would recommend finding a couple of moderators sooner or later before you get spoiled too badly
When you catch up,you’re annoyed that you’re caught up already and have to wait for more.
I started watching one piece less than a year at the start I was like 10 chapters done, let's go for the 990 left or so, now I'm on the half of the edventure and I don't even look anymore the number of the chapter I am on, I just click "next chapter" 'cause it's not enough, this series it's about the journey, one piece it's a beautiful series, and yes it's not perfect, the rhythm sometimes is so slow and somethings are unnecesary, but that doesn't affect the history, even with out the unnecesary shots it would still be a long series, but when you're in you understand that all that is necesary to build the world and the characters to make them deeper and real, if you decide to start it you won't regret it
Arlong Park story arc is what drew me into One Piece.
If u have started it its fine almost a must watch but not for now cause its still on air 1 episode comes out every week .
dont get intimidated by the number of episodes. because the 1k+ episodes are all fire. arc after arc it just trump the previous. you'll never get bored along the way even if it takes you years of watching it.
One Piece is a marathon, but it's a journey well worth taking.
I have always heard how much intimidating and big One piece is but one thing to remember is that its a slow and very fun journey. Just start and watch one ep a day it will still be great.
One piece can be divided by arcs and sagas. Do it at your own pace. The real enjoyment of One Piece is in the journey. Do not rush getting caught up, do what you feel a comfortable pace for you.
i know how intimidating the anime can be with the episode count. but every one piece fan will tell you that it is worth more than the time spent watching it. it's the adventure of the life time and i hope you decide to watch it!
The only information you need is that this is the only show that is worth it to commit your whole life to. You will definitely regret it if you're not caught up when One Piece ends. The best thing about One Piece is the community!

You can always pace yourself and react to One Piece saga by saga and divide them up like seasons that way it feels more manageable, and you have a smaller commitment. Like East Blue saga (which is the first saga) is only like 60 episodes, I think, thats way better than 1000+ episodes and if you feel like continuing people can tell you where to stop between sagas. Well anyways I hope this helps great video I always like watching people discover One Piece.
One Piece is like a roller-coaster ride of emotions from the mind of Eiichiro Oda "GODA". If you start the anime, don't think about catching up to the latest eps, just enjoy the journey.

as a anime watcher! i would recommend that you should wait, reacting one piece live action, cuz major spoilers in live action has not that much hype! and there is no build up for the twist. if you consider watching anime, watch it untill ep 300-320 before reacting to live action. Dont let the episode count intimidate you. Just start at 1 and let it roll. it doesn’t matter how long it takes. And even if you’re not feeling a particular stoyline/arc watch them anyway on your first watch through to get the whole story. By the time you catch up there will be things you want to rewatch to refresh your memory and it might surprise you when its just a side character or an adventure they went on early on in the story that has become important 200 even 600 episodes later so dont skip if you can help it. For example; Alabaster had a few filler episodes because they were waiting for the next chapter to be written, and it can be a little bit annoying, but watch them anyways the first time through. Just have fun with it. They a bunch of goofballs anyways😂
And the lastest arc just before the current one throws us back to an arc in the 130’s. Im talking from 136-206 and the story that took us back there was ep892-1088.

I'd actually recommend reading the manga. You can find it online. It's still really long, but the story's a lot more streamlined and you can get through it much more quickly, plus the original art is the best way to experience it. Of course that won't do anything for your youtube channel, but if you're interested in One Piece that's the way to do it. The anime really does demand a whole lot of time.

I'd give some weird advice, if you wanna find out if One Piece is a series you enjoy, watch Movie 6 "Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island " it is a really good movie that is basically spoiler free, where it captures the vibe of the Strawhats down good. It is basically the ultimate vibe check, to see if One Piece is for you to invest in.

Now that I somehow got your interest, I just want you to trust me on this one: it might seem boring at first but after like the 50th episode you will binge the show as you will start to progressively discover how the one piece world works...get ready to laugh hysterically about funny moments and to cry your eyeballs out for the tragic ones, both of them are so well written..and it might even be the ideal moment to start the show as we're kinda reaching the end/ the climax of it right now . Have fun my lady 🔥
Oh one last thing, this is my first time in your channel and I've already like,subscribed and became a member, and hopefully one day you start posting one piece reactions in here so I can be among the first people to see them, and that's a promise (get ready for lots of youtube copyright headaches though but I trust you'll do just fine) .
I think if you give the first saga a chance then that's a much more reasonable and bite sized amount. It's about 50 episodes (it ends at like 60 but there is a filler arc you can skip). If you aren't feeling it by then, then no one would fault you for dropping it. Don't feel like you have to race to get to the end, just enjoy the small spot you're at. I would also recommend you watch the anime first because the live action has some spoilers for stuff that happens 300 episodes in. But if the only option is the live action or nothing then watch the live action.

I think they spent 5 months on this AMV. The anime has been running since 1999, and the manga since 1997.
I know One Piece with over 1000 episodes so far sounds intimidating, but One Piece is not only one of the best mangas/animes, ever made, it also is one of the best stories ever, that easily could rival with any of the big classics, like the Lord of the Rings, for example. So, I would recommend, you watch it.
I believe the One Piece world is as big as our sun in real life. And our sun is huge.
Really, really hope you start watching One Piece. Yes, there's a lot of episodes and it seems daunting at first but if you take it at your own pace you'll end up loving it. I've seen so many reactors who refused to watch One Piece due to how many episodes there were but when they actually gave it a chance they couldn't stop and they all catch up eventually.

A brief synopsis: 24 years before the present day, the King of the Pirates, "Gold Roger", was publicly executed. He marched triumphantly to his death with a smile on his face, having attained the greatest treasure in the world, said to grant wealth, fame, and power; the One Piece. With his final words, Roger told the world that if they wanted his treasure, they were welcome to it, and that the fabled treasure is right where he left it. This is the beginning of the Great Pirate Era; hordes of pirates have taken to the seas for years with dreams of chasing down the One Piece. Monkey D. Luffy is one such pirate. Luffy sets sail at 17 years old with the goal of becoming the next King of the Pirates by finding Roger's treasure on the Grand Line, a dangerous region of the seas that only Roger and his crew have ever fully explored. If Luffy conquers the Grand Line with the Straw Hat Pirates crew he recruits along the way, he will be only the second captain to do so in around 800 years. The scope of this story is colossal, both narratively, and geographically. Dozens of islands/countries. Each with their own climates, cultures, laws, politics, dangers, and secrets. It's a beautiful story of friendship and adventure; Luffy wants to be King of the Pirates, but that doesn't mean he's prepared to let a single one of his friends die for it along the way.
The further you get he more places from this video you recognize, as the Straw Hats travel the whole world.

Only some scenes aren't in the main anime cuz they're from the movies. But the rest are from episode 800+. It is maybe from a flashback, recaps, or an actual present time.
OPM, Demon Slayer and maybe One piece, cant wait!
One Piece is my all time favorite anime...right next to One Punch Man. It's only 1,000+ episodes and it's just getting good. You can start with the Live Action but the anime is much better, except maybe for the actress who plays Nami, she is awesome and a huge fan of the anime herself.
